I read this yesterday in the newspaper. Two final designs for the new towers are being considered by judges, and will be chosen at the end of February. One of them is by Berlin architect Daniel Libeskind. His plan calls for glassy, angular towers with smaller ones clustered around it. I saw a picture of it, and it was.. strange. The highest point (the top of the spire) would be 1,776 feet; surpassing the original towers by over 400 feet. The other design resembles the old towers somewhat, and the height is 1,665 feet. Both are taller than Malaysia's 1,483-foot Petrona Twin Towers, currently the tallest in the world. Height is an issue, a New York/CBS poll said that 53% of New Yorkers (Those that took the poll, of course) would be unwilling to work in one of the higher floors.

Btw, part of the funding will be through taxes  Like I said, this is like some weird piece of info I posted since I was bored.. that first design I mentioned, the picture, it was.. weird. Here's a couple pics

SolidSnake76 02-10-2003 11:29 AM

none of them are ok kingryu. the old ones were. and vipa, i know how to prevent what happened. putting fire-resistant foam on the steel trusses wasnt smart, as well as using drywall instead of concreate for the core.

have any of u seen the manhattan skyline before 9/11?
