Guilty Gear XX is the greatest 2-D fighting game ever.
It has been for the last two years I'd say or 3. Well to me anyway, but hardily no one talks about it. Guilty Gear owns King Of Fighters and Street Fighter Series by the balls. No questions asked....=/ princevegetam said this along time ago I'm supporting it...100% Best 2-D Fighting game ever. Edited By SBYRD5 on Jan. 17 2004 at 04:53 |

No, GGX, GGXX, and GGXX #Reload (JAP only) all own every single other 2-D fighting game. They have incredible depth in their engines, are (almost) glitch-free, and have incredible balance that allows any character, with enough training, to have an even chance at winning as any other character.
Facts: GGXX #Reload is being ported to the X-Box for a Japanese XBL release with online play, just like CvSNK2:EO. Sammy vs. Capcom is in the works, and will feature a mix between the two engines (GGXX engine and a sample of some SF engines from various games). The game will feature GGXX characters, SF characters, and Darkstalker characters. Sammy is working on a 4-player GGXX game. It will allow for chaotic tag matches, and all-out four-players-at-once brawls. The engine is supposed to basically be the GGXX engine. Sammy is on a roll, and is finally getting the respect they deserve here in America. Too bad that GGX Advance wasn't very good. It played almost perfectly, but the sound and graphics sucked :(. well, i got GUILTY GEAR X a few months ago...
i can't say its a bad game but like all other games it has its advantages and disadvantages ! advantages, the story really holds itselfup and th egame is greatly made... but still the destruction moves are just too dman easy to pull out and like it says it kills a person instantly even tho the round just began ! again, i find STREET FIGHTER ALPHA 3 way better then GUILTY GEAR X. graphically speaking, GGX is better but gameplay wise, i like the SF series way better ! |
In high-level play, instant kills are almost impossible to land. You need to activate the Instant Kill mode, and then you need a clean chance to land it. While in Instant Kill mode, your meter empties, and then your life goes down some. If you fail to land it, you do not have a meter and can't do Faultless Defense, Roman Cancels, or supers for the entire rest of that match. It is an incredible risk to do an Instant Kill.
Gameplay-wise, Guilty Gear games win out over SFA3 easily. You just haven't learned the nuances of the system, and how to link together bizarre stuff to create nice combos. In addition, you probably don't know the exact rushdown strategies that each character calls for, which is another gameplay aspect. |
Hibiki is on fire :D
