What do you think about gettin free music online. I knoe it's all good for you guys but then think about all the music artists out there who make the song and got nomoney for there songs i knoe i would be pissed. Then again if youdo not like the artist and he only has one good song you like i think free music d/l is fine, but if youdownload like a whole CD for free thats a lil messed up wouldent u say... Anyways i think it is all good for us but then again i feel for the musci artists =(.

Have u ever seen the Southpark epsiode when they get busted for downloading music? You should really see it. And it shows that it is a good thing.
|
haha sry i dont watch south park but yea i guess it is good

ok put it this way. when was the last time someone got arrested for copying a tape or recording a program? sure they should go after the mass sharers but people who only download, like recording a movie or a song, should be exempt.

Free music downloading is no different than theft. You are taking something without paying for it.
Evil-Ryu-Goki, to say that music downloading is bad except if you just want one song or something is hypocritical. That is no different from going into a candy store and saying "hmm....here is a bag of mixed candy. I don't like the Baby Ruths, the Snickers or the Milky Ways, but I do want the Reeses Peanut Butter Cups," and then stealing only the Peanut Butter Cups. Stealing is still stealing...whether it's just one thing or a lot of things. You're stealing music without paying for it, and it's wrong. |
are you stealing movies by recording them? do you own a tvo, vcr, dvd recorder or ne thing else? did you ever lend a game to someone that needs no cd and have them install it on their pc? have you ever liked a song off the radio and recorded it to tape? then they also should be considered theft. the thing is, when it comes to me, i really dont care cuz i really dont download music cuz i really dont listen to any, and what if someone is downloadin a movie for example and just wants a copy to back up what they have? is it legal for someone to rip their dvd? the software might be illegal but i've heard nothing about the act of. just as one can back up a tape one should have the right of backing up a song or dvd. if you consider this just data then the whole freedom of info thingy comes into play. there will always be a fine line between legal and illegal. for example, any anime that has not yet been bought by an american company can be legally fansubbed and downloaded. its just that the defenition of copyright infringement is so vague. i mean, hey if you use a char of a manga and make your own, doushinji for ex, the creators would be only honored... he he he actually i wonder what the p2p policy is in japan lol. anyway, i just think its hypoctritical for them to make downloadin' illegal when tv and vcrs arent.

ps
anywho, its not like they're steelin money from the poor unknown artists eh? i mean, i bet brittney spears and nsync have enough money (that is if they didnt spend it on crack) to live a nice n cumphy life. it also makes the concept of mp3 players kinda dumb lol. guess what they were meant for... not the 90 cent songs they offer today lol. I think its good. I mean filesharing should be fine, people have music and they are allowing other people to download music of them via the net, using programs such s kazaa. PLus the artists get payed enough from the CD's that do get sold and through being on TV. PLus i don't think famous people should get so much money when there are so many poor people dieing out there.

The point of this topic is if it is good or bad. I think yes it is bad. While Britney Spears and J. Timberlake are rich. It is not fair to them. They take all this time to make a cd and no one goes out to buy it. Instead they download it offline. And btw it is not only Britney or Justin that get paid for the Cd. There is also the cd maker. The Studio people. The photographers. The mic people. The caterers. Even her limo driver. So when you download music off the internet illegally then you are not only ripping off Britney. You are also ripping off the 'little people'. Oh and if the everyone did start downloading stuff off the internet for free. Then sooner or later we would run out of artist. |
