Alot of my pc buddies at school were talking about a modem with a cable are one of the fstes modems or somthing like that, what is a cable for your modem? I herd that it is really fast and I need to knowbecause I want one.

I have a cable modem, its a type of internet source. It connects as if it were cable to your television but instead to a little box. Since I have comcast cable it's a little black box. This box has wiring which connects to the pc and the cable source. Sometimes if you have to much "wiring" it doesn't work. For example if you have about 4 t.v's with cable, it sometimes doesn't reach the pc.
Even though cable is the fastest, it has several problems as well, but alot of benefits. |

Well.. all cable modems doesn't run @ the same speed at others.. ifu'r planning on getting one, I suggest you get a good service.. (i/e:Road Runner :biggrin: ) I have a cable modem, but it seems not to faster when I had AOL dial-up service.. I thinks it because my computer is very fast, I just got cable because it doesn't tie up the phone like, which is a good thing :biggrin:

All I can say is, compare to Dial up, cable modems rock the planet :biggrin:

mine says motorola on it :D can u say moto. and its white, its fast but dang brother got many viruses on my computer, dats why i dont play as good as much as i used to :(

You don't get a cable modem without a good antivirus software.. with/and a firewall O_O
You should know you'll be online all the time.. and you'll crave attention from hackers and the likes :biggrin: |
i have a cable modem charter cable :biggrin: and i got a firewall but blanka can u tell me where i can get a anti virus to protect my pc

Aah.. but if you've got some money, you can always get Norton or McAfee.. or some *cough*cracked*cough* one someone on the internet. I'm not 100% certain.. but who knows, you might be hooked up with one soon. Just email me :biggrin: |
