i have been thinking on this question forever: how can a system be made for scoring when when higher rank defeats lower rank?
i finally found a cool system that seems to always hold up, and is based on the absolute skill of the defeated player, as gathered from his record. heres the formula: ok, say player 1=p1 player 2=p2 p1 has a higher rank than p2 p1 wins: points= (P2's points) ----------------------------------- -- 3 x (rank difference) 2 x (p2's games played) |
i really do not get that
|
neiter did i.explain it in english einstein.
|
what purpose serve the
P2 ------------------- 2x P2 game played and it would give nOOb lots of advantage since some people doesnt play a lot (me). |
While I think a high score system would work even better....
Here's my idea of how to discourage newbie killers... .... ... ... ... ... QUIT PAYING THEM SO MUCH FRIGGIN ATTNETION |
basically, heres how it works.
if player 1 beats player 2, then here is how the points for player 1 are determined. player2's points divided by twice the number of games player 2 has played...in otherwords, divide player2s average points per game by 2. then, subtract from that 3 times the number of ranks between player 1 and player 2 thus, player2's points ----------------------------- minus (3x rank diff. between player1 & player2) 2x (# of games p2 played) (Edited by viper2040 at 4:25 pm on May 22, 2002) |
OK I SOMEWHAT GET THAT.
|
i'm still some what confused from both explanations

if the person has only this do to in there life... then they'll get lots more point for having played 5 times more than other who has other important thing in their life ! |
I've been doing the math and i've found out the result system viper has done is not quite gonna work fairly. The points that the ppl winning would get is even more outrageous than the current system! Viper please don't tell me this was on purpose cause n00bs would be screaming for the system to be changed to your method.
If you want me to give you a example do the math. Like take P1. say hes got 5000 points. And played 100 games. P2 has 2000 points and 50 games. DO the Math (dum de dum) and P1 wins 8980 points!?! Do it the other way and P2 wins 8975 points!?! While thats (uh) fair its far too high on points. Think about SSJKarmas words. Other than that the winnig parts practically fair (talk about figures) but what about the losing? Make a method there viper c if it works. I'll let you know. Good job :) |
