Ok, I had 2 ideas but I guess I'm getting old or something cause I don't remember what the second was about...anyway.
I think a pretty sweet functionality to add to the game would be an optional timer. People could set in their options whether they prefer timer or no timer. If two players fight who don't agree on the timer, then leaving it in should be default since it really is part of the game. It's a simple little handshake before the match to see whether or not to include it, but how easy would it be to make time optional in the code for the game?
I've had lots of close matches with some of you that end prematurely from time. And everytime it's mention people are cursing the clock. Just a thought.

well, we'd need a better system when it comes hosting games in order to make that happen...

after all, the only way to do it now is to have a "Would you like to accept a game from Player1 which has no time limit, doesn't use helpers, users Stage 2, has full graphic effects, in a Anti-Lag protocol Alpha2..." window pop up every time someone challenges you :biggrin:

once we get 4 player mode going, everyoen will be able to host a game... go there, chat, pick their options, and do things the way they SHOUDL be done in all multiplayer games :biggrin:

I was thinking more of a behind the scenes kind of option. For example if I had the option set to 'no-timer' and I challenged TarkinX (sorry to pick on you tarkin) who set it to 'timer' then we'd automatically play a game with the 'timer'. But if we both had it set to 'no-timer' then there wouldn't be one.
So there wouldn't be any accepting options with each challenge. Just that some options automatically override others.

But I see what you mean about the options getting out of hand with the different stages and such. I hadn't thought much about that. Anyway, it was just a suggestion. I am most certainly not complaining about the excellent job you've been doing in creating this game in this kind of environment.
