well i think we should have a private message in the chat room for private disscussions
|
Yeah you should be able to whisper.
|
i have a feeling that it will lead to chat abuse.
|
Why dont you just chat when your playing the game...you wont fight if you really need to have a private discussion.

how about someone hosts a game then when the other person arrives click on the server off option and talk all you want |
wut if you cant syncronize

[quote:post_uid0="deadly-assalt"]wut if you cant syncronize
to join sum1 game or to HOST UR OWN? |
Guys, think about it. If you could pm something to someone (even if redundant), then you could avoid people trying to get mixed up in it or something. Hosting can be used, but the person might not want to leave/can't join games/can't host games, and then you would need that ability. Whispering abilities in chatrooms is also great for when you have to say something to someone in private, and then leave.

theres no reason why it shouldnt host its called read FAQ if u cant connect... there are things to do in those situtations... use your head |
um....machine...at college, i cannot host and usually have trouble connecting to servers--I have a firewall.
The FAQ isnt always the answer BUT...this idea will probably never be done as A) this would encourage more talking, and people who load the game only to chat (which is bad for the server--costs money, causes lag) B)It would lead to abuse--if people are willing to flood in public, why wouldnt they flood in private C) TMyApp is always busy as hell, and would have to postpone other things D)There really isnt a need...if there are too many people talking, just use the /ignore command; if its private, use a messenger Edited By viper2040 on Dec. 23 2002 at 19:25 |

Ok, your starting to make me mad. Stop going around saying that. Your just a n000b. You have no right to judge what topics should be open or closed. Use your brain. |

[quote:post_uid0="Bunmi"]someone close this topic now ???
y should this topic be closed, it hasnt turned into spam or gone off topic. anyway it is a fairly good idea to have that but it is just as easy to have a private chat in a game your hosting or just on something like msn or aim |
the problem is its gonna take up too much time on tmy's free time and is it possible to do it like wouldn't have been done even when the chat was first created
|
Well, to prevent whisper flooding, the ignore list would affect whispering too. So if you ignored someone, you wouldn't see what they say, and you wouldn't hear any whispers from them. Maybe you could type a special command for a whisper, like.
