I am behind a router with a buit-in firewall.
MOst off the time I cant establish sync with other players, once in a while i do..but thats not very often..
i think ive tried everything i could find in the FAQ but nothing works.

What to do?

welcome to my world, but i dont have the fire wall thing, as tmyapp said, IT IS LOW PRIORITY RIGHT NOW...... so it is ur computer,nothing we can do,so live with it like me....

so..im not going to be able to play thew game again :(

Combo, Go to Options, then Connection(I think, where you see your IP address) and then you see where it says "Old Connection, for firewalls"? Check that option and you should be good to go.

a switch is better than a router

buy one but u have 2 pay for 2 IP addresses , i pay 5 bucks for having 2 it shouldnt be that expensive

try deleting ur firewall

i cant del the firewall since its built in my router, i am trying to find a way to deactivate it tho.

asshole, that thing kinda worked. i can establish sync most of the times, i dont think i can host tho. thanks

Nope. unfortunately with routers you cannot host. Sorry. I just switched to a router not too long ago, so I know everything you can and cannot do as far as XMvSF goes.

router = built in firewall

switch = NO FIREWALL.

theyr different , a switch is way better than a firewall..

and ive never seen a firewall where u can turn off the firewall

I can disactivate my built-in firewall. The real problem now is my dad;he thinks that if i turn off the firewall, millions of people will hack in our computer...in 5 minutes ???

As for yo daddy...make sure you explain to him that "ya'll are no one" on the internet...hackers are more interested in buisness's...than your buissness...What world altering information is contained on your PC anyways?

I'm assuming he doesnt do online transactions by the sounds of it...so ya'll realy have little to worry.

Get ya self a good e-mail scanner and you should be fine....all those extra TSR's your running in the background are killing your game,and your computers overall potential/speed.

well...actually...hackers ARE trying to get in my computer.
Vital information is stored on this computer. My dad owns a company, nothing big or anything but concuration is trying to hack the customer database...he does o/t also ??? ..

so...i really CANT get rid of the firewall :(
