Why is it that people can spend more time on a computer more than there family.. I just don't understand its insanity I mean then it becomes a habit then it lacks your school education i think people need to start going to there outside life and only play on the computer like certain times but mostly spend there time on there outside life or school work.

WestSideBlood 09-23-2004 05:13 PM

Good point man. I'm always on the computer for school related reasons and thus I am tempted to check up on how the community is running. but I feel it has been occupying a little too much of my time. Thanx for the wake up call.

we do need time away from all that. like that hour ride to and from school. that annoying, greedy older brother ofurs that eats up all the food. trying to forget about all those idiots in high school that cant spell.

u get where i coming from?

AnimeGirl4evr 09-23-2004 05:50 PM

True...Sometimes being on the computer gets u away from all things around u..Sometimes gives u a break..

streetballa23 09-23-2004 06:55 PM

when you meet people online for example in sfo and you've known them for quite a while.. u kind of miss them when you're not online.. that's why sometimes i come back and see how my buddies are doing.. especially the ones i talk to almost everyday. it is up to you to let "computer stuff" take over your education.

have you ever tought that maybe some people are afraid of the crowds ?

not that i am affected by such a disease...
i still hate going out alone, i just don't have that many friends who can actually go out and those i have always play soccers too much that when they come home all they want is to stay on the couch !

so going out is definitely something i want, but its definitely something i can't have !
either ways, i also happen to be in love with my computer, and when you are in love you just take the more times you can with it ! thus i'm taking the more i can with my computer ! since i found a job, i am less there for it...

anyway, hope it clears a little as to why SOME ofus can't just go outside !

and by the way... if everyone would be doing what you just told them to do, then no one would have actually read or answered your toipic ! even worst, this game probably wouldn't exist !

azncat 09-23-2004 09:01 PM

the point i was trying to make earlier ^^ =/

Zpower 09-23-2004 09:13 PM

Well its about balancing your life. If you truely found other reasons to not be on your computer for hours upon hours, then ofcourse you wouldnt be on your computer. You have to find out whats more important. Thinking that you are spending too much time on your computer, well maybe is a sign that you are. Especially if important things in your life are fading away because of it.
Though you make it sound as if a "loner" is someone who lacks a personality or courage to interact with the world. Infact however this is not true. Someone who is a loner... is alone right. So being alone may be what he desires and not that he is placed in that situation. See everyone is different there will always be one person who has different views on life. Which you may think of as a loner type.. Though that person will think differently.

Roll's Friend 09-24-2004 04:17 PM

simple...

We need an illusion a moment to let our winds unwind from reality..

some ofus choose the Net world..

Many of the people in the real world are growing to the net family..soon enough everything will be ran by Personal computers....=/

*ahem* some ofus aren't attractive in the real world and can fold ourselves into whatever we want here...it's just a matter of attuide......and style here....nothing to do with appearance....

So some ofus express our actually social skills here...rather than real life..in a sense....

My theory is this is the actual us...because we feel to reason to hold back in post...

'and in reality we tend to hold our tongue...

floaterz 09-24-2004 07:54 PM

I major in computer science I really can't stay off the pc but I'm barely on nowadays for some reason

Yeah I agree... it's more like a refuge to get away from all the horse poop that goes around in our daily lives. You won't believe the way ppl sometimes affect ur lives.. even before you see them.. (especially on SFO.. no names mentioned.. but it's pretty clear to whom).. I mean.. you think you're gonna spend the life alone.. and then you meet ppl that just make you feel happy.. and mean a whole lot to you... even more than you can imagine.

Being on the comp too much; well there are different ways to look at it... that's my view.. and SBYRD5's hypothesis is something I'll agree with. You can shape up your persoanility and atitude to what you want it to be on the net... and make it who ever you want to be without having to worry about your outward appearance and preconcieved notions with premature judgements.

And on the outside world.. well, things can be different.. lol.

I'm misplaced in my search for a "group to be among" cause with my age and with my educational status, the unbalance is uncanny.. so basically, if it's not family, then it's the net.. cause that's where nothing really matters. It's just where you can be who you want to be.. and most of the time.. the honest ones can actually be happy with who/what they meet. People.. and Animes and cartoons might actually mean more than you can ever imagine

09-25-2004 04:43 PM

I Respect everyones opinion. but there is no need to be on all the time im saying i mean like my mom says it keeps me out of trouble so she would let me go on for like ever even though i choose not to ( loves partying) but i dont think people should make it a habit especially the young.

blanka09 09-25-2004 07:09 PM

Ever heard of the saying.. one man's meat is another man's poison??

Roll's Friend 09-26-2004 12:50 AM

Let me explain more deepily..

you see in this virtual world...

Someone such as Kingryu1 can have the status of ceasar.

but in reality be no more than the lad you spill your used milk on.

It's interesting truthily the reason why you spend so much time on the net is because your lost....in life.

Your searching for a purpose...a reason...a trade a thing to keep you occupied...

A job maybe...

I recommend getting a Job...playing a afterschool sport.....and I recommend all male users to get a Job.

and I have a theory....you know that maybe the end of humanity actually is near....

Bar codes all of such are begining....Already in the Far East such things are taking place...

A person told me a cool line once...

He asked me why does man look at the sky.....why don't we just use what we're given...we weren't meant to fly..

but man has always wanted more right....

We thrist for control.....admit it when your in control of anything you have a slight smirk.

The retort always overthrows the means.....pfft terrorist in the skies...

It's a shame what happened to nobel men that went on pilgrimiges to attain there man hood...

such rituals are fading....

I like all cultures except American.

We have to much...and yet all other cultures.....they have so much less and they have such strict or honorable systems to go by......americans don't have honor....if we can't win..we will cheat......but whatever.....we have freedom...

Seemed like I went into a rant..I'll repeat my silence..

I use my computer alot, because just like someone else said, I can show my true self, without having to worry about any wrong judgements. It's easy to make friends here, because online, people are forced to judge others by their personality. I have other activites outside my comp, but I also spend just as much time on it, since its become so reliable these days. It wasn't too long ago when the internet was released to the public, actually. So, to wrap everything up, its easier to be who you are, or for some people, who you want to be when your online, because you can make yourself appear to be one way, or show the real you, without worry.

Ouuu.. I got an Idea, why don't everybody do whatever tha fuuck they feel like doing, and not listen to others?

Think about it this way..
PeoPle that sPend more time ont ha comPuter can also have a fun life.. look at TMyApp for examPle, that dude seems like a College Nerd, btu now everyone worshiPs him.

And PeoPle that Play a lot outside are doing their own great things(they want).

Me myself am one of those outside PeoPle, I love hanging out and getting in "TROUBLE", haha.. but i'm doing what I want, and i'm fine with it..

So, why don't everybody just do what they feel llike doing?

( The only one who need to sPend time out are tha ones who stay at home, ain't got no friends, never get called for anything to do, and then WHINE ABOUT IT.. others who don't care, shouldn't listen to anyone.. )

alamgir 09-28-2004 08:46 AM
