apocolypse83: You should try asking some harder questions... such as what's the name of the ring that Gandalf holds onto? or what did those tree-like creatures that can be seen in the Twin Towers trailer lose? (I know.. not very hard to someone who actually read the book, but @ least they arn't obvious from people who havn't).

for those who don't know, the town used in LOTR was also used in BALDUR'S GATE.

yep look at the movie were we saw the GOBLINS get on the bridge and house with the farmer and you'll notice that that sequence is the exact same one has LOTR when gandalf arrives in town and get on that very same bridge. don't remember the name of that town, but it really exist and is an historical site !

anyway... talk about the movie not about the author !

The town is called Matamata .its in the north of new zealand. and no one has an answer for wat college peter jackson went to. it was kapiti college. 20 mins from my house, north of wellington (the capital of new zealand)

i just had to answer em coz im goin to australia in like 10 mins.

Actually, they created the hobbit village. They found a place by a river with lots of hills, and for a year or two they grew the grass and other plantations, and built roads, and all that crap. They also built the houses into the hils.
They made it all, man.
