What I've heard from EGM is that GC players are only buying the major titles and none of the other lesser titles. The system isn't bringing in enough money and they might plan to bring the N64 back and work on that for awhile. So GC might not be seeing very many titles soon. But it has yet to be decided.

I love the gamecube system.... I like the other ones but I chose to buy gamecube... I have always stuck with nintendo I had a playstation wow..... But I always stuck with nintendo and will stay with nintendo. Why you ask ? Nintendo makes a variety of games for all audiences so the children that play mario or mario party can grow up with nintendo's games... Those magazines are pure opinion and I dont take them seriously

They could have improved on the N64 instead of making something new and worrying about competition. Focus on the games, make something they know people will like and sell well. That way you would have no problems. They should speak to the children and see what they like in a game, and see what they can do with that.

well, the N64 sucked hard !
it got good cause of a few games like GOLDENEYES, PERFECT DARK, ZELDA OOT, ZELDA MM and 1080 but the rest was like crappy and nintendo got bad news and had to do something. they had 2 years before the actual PS2 was supposed to came out ! they tried the N64 FD (N64 Floppy Disk) which was a system of disks that was added to the n64 in japan. it gave the ability to ufe floppys that had like twice the size of a cartridge in game space ! but it failled to succeed in japan. so they forogt about it ! no, japanese people, which their actual BIG SALES, didn't want the crappy N64 ! so nintendo stop the research on it and started on a new system... i must say that 3 years in the making, the actual GAMECUBE got all my attention ! it made em comeback in the competition ! another thing that NINTENDO wasn't wanting to involves but will do anyway... is the INTERNET CAPABILITY. yep, RESIDENT EVIL ONLINE is coming on GC ! well, suppose to be when the console will get online ! anyway... GC is for GAMES, XBOX and PS2 are for movies and SOME games ! the choice still remain on the user who like i said, stay with stupid OPINIONS and IN-MIND stupid opinions that are actually false ! all that combined make the GC a very good system to choose from, but most of the users will just ignore everything and still say that the PS2 is better when its actually very far behind the other two console ! |

i'm sick of ppl calling the gamecube a crap babies system...the controller takes about a minute to get used to and so what if it some of the games r aimed at younger people, i mean its better for them to have games set for a wide veriety of ages instead of just trying to get one age group to buy it, and i doubt that there will be many little kids trying to buy resident evil or bmx-xxx(which is only censored on ps2...haha)

xbox does not rival the PS2 in games at all. getting close tho. PS2 has stuff like: final fantasy 10 GTA3 and Vice City Kingdom Hearts A whole lot of anime games which aren't avaliable for GC or XBox. Tekken 4 Guilty Gear XX Devil May Cry 2 Onimusha 2 Final Fantasy X2 KOF 2002 Thievieus Racconaus GC and XBox have a lot of differen't good games too, but PS2 have more of them. |

thats about all i know but i sure i heard the others aswell ! well, except for those FF which is ALWAYS EXCLUSIVES to SONY ! but be sure that all the games you mentionned, if they are not made by SONY then THEY WILL be ported to other console ! it has been like that from the start... and the fact SONY got lots more games on PS2 is simply the fact that they neglected the bugs and putted the console on the shelves as fast as they could, which occasionned the big lots of games that came out ! but other then that, almost all games that are seen on PS2 came out on XBOX,GC too ! as for the joystick... did you know nintendo got the CONVERTER that able you to plug your PS pad into the gamecube ? for the games, FF SUCKS ! its kinda stupid to make all those story when you always know what will be going on before it happens ! even RPGs for other console are starting to be like that ! we need NEW ENGINES now, not just other games that use the very same engine as other games ! ssjkarma we understand that you can play mario 64 all your life I never get board at all even though you already finished the game 50 times! But we ps2 people we want new sh.it new shi.t (ps2 is flipen coming at these other crap systems like eminem lol "there's more games to make, keep makin' new ####, produce hits to break the monotony.." face iit ps 2 is the best) we don't care a about all the graphics and power a system has we care about the content of the games and want to see the sequel for the games sometime before we die (nintendo never made a sequel for mario 64 which really pissed may be off and they won't for mario sunshine either and to add to that they come out with one new game a month no make it a year thats what really bugs me with them) .

GameCube= Metroid Prime, Resident Evil 0 PS2= Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, The Sims XBox= The soon to come Halo 2, Mech Assult All the systems have their possibilities. i flippin don't look about graphics ! 1 - gameplay 2 - gameplay 3 - gameplay 4 - gameplay 5 - STORY 6 - graphics 7 - controls 8 - sounds 9 - bugs 10 - fun factor thats how i look for good games ! PS2 always giving that #### called gameplay ? no way men, all they are doing are making games that have completely nothing new, and that has already been seen many times before ! its just like STAR WARS BATTLEGROUND, they simply changed the graphics so it looks like star wars, but in fact that was the very same old AGE OF EMPIRE 2. the very same has been made to almost all the games ! PROOF! saying stuff like "oh i remember seeing it in a magazine before" is not good enough. you might have saw wrong or you might not remember as accurately. real PROOF is needed to back up your opinions. and that stuff about gameplay/graphics is personal opinion. the gameplay might not be difficult at all for you and your friend, but there are a lot of people in this world who aren't good at games. they made it easy so that the people who suck can enjoy the game too. p.s. to have 40gb HD in a CONSOLE ! 8.4gb is like HIGH already, with that kind of HD you don't have to buy another memory card ! oh yeah that's right, PEOPLE WANT TO DOWNLOAD THINGS, like movies or games ! guess what, BUY A DAMN COMPUTER for that ! so just explain me, why is it good for to have 40gb in a system where the save already take less then a mb on a memory card ? the biggest game will like take 2mb on that 40gb ! and you said it yourself, ADDONS ! XBOX comes with it, the best is, it is 229,99$ and have already everything you need to actually play and save ! PS2 like comes with a single joystick for the same price, you still have to buy the memory cards, the HD if you want it, and the games ! which makes the XBOX the cheapest of the two ! there is still that INTERNET CRAP they try to sell for the PS2 that XBOX already had from the beginning ! now lets talk about the dvd player ! yes, you have to buy the kit for the xbox to work with, but guess what, you still have to buy the remote control to be able to listen the movie on your PS2, cause people don't like the joypad to control the movie ! and the xbox DVD is like 2x better then the one on PS2 ! all those reasons are making me think, XBOX vs PS2... i would buy a good system with good games, on which i can see good movies. the best choice is still XBOX. or the damn computer. for my part i would go with the computer. xbox has lots of good games, they have the gameplay, they have the story and they have the graphics, what do you want more ? |

That adds a legitimate element to the Xbox that the PS2 and the GC pale in comparison to. My ratings of the consoles: EVEN!!! If I had all three consoles (I have 2 of the 3; PS2 and Xbox), I would give them all equal play time just like I do between the two. It gets me mad when I hear this "Xbox sucks because it has a big controller (bullcrap), Gamecube has kiddie games (bullcrap), PS2 lacks in graphics, therefore gameplay (bullcrap). Don't you guys think it is stupid to nitpick so much about the systems? They are just games people! I will just as easily back-up one console against the other, but I will never favor one unless it has a clear and complete advantage over all. Xbox: good at hardware PS2: good games GC: ? i just don't see what is so good about GC. it's sort of like a balance between the two. not bad games, not bad hardware, but not exactly "greatest". u ppl juss dont understand, #1 gamecube and xbox both came out a year after, so that is y they have sum better hardware. and #2 u have to play the system and not juss look at all the hardware crap, i have played all 3 systems, b4 i bought my ps2, and id say, wit all dat hardware crap dat xbox has, it's horrible, aside from splinter cell, its not that good at all, as for gc its not dat bad either, but wen i played the ps2, i was blown away, everything was great aside from da 2 controller ports, and thats y i decided to buy my ps2!!! :D

what BEST SELLING GAMES ? metal gear solid 2 ? we now have it on XBOX... the FF SERIES, well, it has really fallen short because it is all repetitive ! who wants 3xx games of the same series anyway ? tell me the GAMES that are suppose to be the best... because for what i saw at the TV, the reviews, and everythings, including what my friends told me. XBOX DOES have LOTS of GOOD games too ! believe me, all you want are GREAT GAMES, well you won't find DOA3 on PS2. thats one reason to get it. MGS2 now is on XBOX, why would i by a PS2 for it ? BRUCE LEE is exclusive XBOX, why would i buy a console for a game that isn't even on it ? HALO, its a damn great game ! GOTHAM RACING, even tho i don't like RACING games, its one of the best i've seen ! graphically and playability ! LOTR: two towers... well i'll got it on XBOX too ! see all games i need or that are great on PS2 are almost all coming too XBOX too ! like rocky said, its normal for a console to have about 1000 games compare to two systems that came out a year after. but let me get this straight, on more then 200games on XBOX, there is none you like ? don't give me such a pitifull excuse ! when was the last time you checked a GAMING SITE and see the ratings of the games ? because i have seen as much games on PS2 and xbox getting 9/10 for their rating, and thats about 400 persons per games that actually gave a rating so it is an average. SELLING CHARTS ? sorry, but those aren't really helping much, since the PS2 came out way earlier, its just normal that people aren't changing to the other two ! its not everyone who have the cash to buy all 3 systems you know ! i sure don't have it, do you ? |
the only reason i didn't provide a link with ratings is cause i was too lazy to search up all the good games and find their ratings. i look up game ratings everyday, cause i get newsletters in my e-mail. anyways, i'm not sure about ign, but gamespy and gamespot rate PS2 games over xbox games most of the time.
