Zeroena, and mastaq when he's on his home comp.
|
there are probably laggier opponents out there that i havent faced yet, but i must say that weha and DarkMagicX lag the most out of who i have played. Cant these people get better connections, man it dont cost that much
|
i lagg the most
|
Dark-link
DX-Zero, fear, KKS, MasterKi, Masta_Q, Nferno, PaMaLiO, TarkanX, and a LOT more... The longest match I've ever had was against Masta_Q, the timer was off, so time couldn't run out and he was just standing there doing NOTHING while I was tired of hitting him and doign Nothing! ( I ended up winning that match. ) The second longest would be against Nferno, it was skill against skill, we were all over the screen jumping, blocking, shooting hadoukens and everything... ( I ended up winning that match because it was my turn to Host. ) |
Yeah I do lag.....
especially when I have a very weak comp.... yeesh.... |
lol ... asshole we rarely even fight...
and i didnt lag back in the days when they had ryu and wolvie.. heres my list: Imagination Dark-Link Pakistani Omnislash fear_tetsuo Nferno666 DXZero lol its funny how they all became 1st place champ. :D |
DX Zero in his wn, list, hahaha lmfao!!!
Nice one DX. And.. How could I forget Profe$$or?(Omnislash) And.. Zing? And Lord?, TMyApp? and even Quass?? And... leftyfb!! Well, I guess the list DOES keep on continuing! |
TMyApp !! HANDS down... the WORST lagger' of all time...
he should REALLY upgrade his 2400  |
well ashole just wrote down a list from every1 he lost to be4

Note:the following ppl are ppl that lag me, not necessarily lag everyone else:
MasterKi fear tetsuo tupac2westsider(DARKSIDER) I'm sure there's more, I just don't feel like thinking of the rest asshole:you and one other person are the only ppl that have ever said I lag and lots of ppl have told me I have a good connection, especially during host games..... |
yeah...kks doesn't lag at all when i would fight him. it ran perfect
|
Ok Lancer, just to prove you wrong, ill tell you my record against those people...
Starting from 1: Dark-link = 3-2 DOES Lag! DX-Zero = 2-0 Also lags! Fear = A lot-A Lot Does Lag but I admit, he was better. ( In this Online game. ) KKS = 1-0 Does Lag me... MasterKi = A lot-some DOES LAG!! Masta_Q = 1-0 Allready said about him.. Nferno = Some - A LOT!!! Yes, he does lag! PaMaLiO = 0-about 15 I'd say... He beat me a lot when I was new, and also left when I was new.. TarkanX = A Lot-A Lot! Yes, he does lag me... Profe$$or = 2-2 Yes he lagged! Zing = 2-1 I hear he was pissed at me because I beat him... And I'm sure you dont care about TMy, Quass or leftyfb... ( Oh and Incase you're wondering how come we haven't fought that much is because, most of these people cared about rank, and like I said before, I only give the people that give me a match! ) |
atleast i dont lag
|
People say i lag the most.
|
if we push tmyapp's 2400 bps modem then i say...
I PROBABLY am the one and only who LAG AS HELL in this online game ! people who remember their fight against me will tell you that i was the one who lagged the more ! my lag is always above 500 and sometimes it goes haywire with a number of 1500 ! now try find me someone who lag more than that ! |
im easily damaged ..its just that some people dont connect my supers fast enough cuz i quickly super jump over every sup attack they attemp
but sometimes they are lucky and it actually hits me |
[quote:post_uid0="Nferno666"]yeah...kks doesn't lag at all when i would fight him. it ran perfect[/quote]
Nferno666 u r forgetting me ....LOL :D |
i think ether is laggy aas hell u cant even super jump with his cheap connection
|
Has anyone bothered to mention knoksoner. I know he was unknown to all you guys. But boy did his hyper bar move FAST. It's not like he teleported or anything. So all my attacks connected almost everytime. It's just mad lag, that i can't describe, really. I mean in two hadokens his hyper bar has already risen to 1. And before you know it his hyper bar has rached level 3. Never short of supers.
I have never experienced that kind of lag EVER BEFORE. Thats somethings because i have played people like Imagination and Nferno999. Remember the name KNOKSONER |
Whatever happened to Nferno999?
I always used to see him before, but where'd he go now? |
he was banned by Zing
|
Why!?!?!?
|
Hmm...some of you need to realize that there's a difference between lagging and exploiting certain bugs in the game. Now, allow me to explain...
If you want to be cheap, you can repeatedly juggle your opponent with Ryu simply by jumping and using HK. Now, on your screen, you're being cheap and kicking the crap out of your opponent, but on their screen, they're probably throwing fireballs at you or something else. The bottom line is, the battle you are seeing is not the same battle that your opponent is seeing. That juggling cheapness is just one example. Previously, the low punch cheat with Ryu was another one of those bugs. On their screen, they're being cheap and low punching you to death (most likely in the corner), but on your screen (if you knew how to get out of it anyways), you're already out of the corner throwing fireballs at your opponent. Now, despite the fact that you're pummeling your opponent with fireballs, they are still in the ducked position punching like a dumbass. Hmm....the only logical explanation is that on their screen, you're still trapped in the corner getting raped by low punches. Why else would they sit there low punching not making any effort to block your fireballs? Yet another example of how to exploit the game is to super jump all over the screen like crazy. On your screen, you're probably beating the crap out of your opponent, but on their screen, they've already super jumped behind you and are preparing to super your sorry ass. Why does this happen, you wonder? Well...my explanation is, you are doing some sort of repetitive combo on your opponent (e.g. standing roundhouse over and over), but on their screen, they probably blocked one of the roundhouses at some point and super jumped to the other side of the screen. Some people jump from one side of the screen to the other on purpose just to make it damn near impossible to hit them; meanwhile while they're in the air they're doing some move over and over (e.g. roundhouse, hadoken) to charge their super meter. Then when their super meter is charged, you get supered from behind. The jump lock eliminated this problem to some degree, I'd imagine, but there are several other ways to disorient your opponent. These and several other "juggling" strategies are the cause of what most of you refer to as lag. And it's also the reason why some battles seem to take forever. Now that's not to say that you all do that kind of stuff on purpose. But if you do nothing but low punches half the round, and I'm not even anywhere near you, I know what you're up to. The same thing applies to people that "teleport" all over the screen constantly. Lag is certainly part of the problem in all of these examples. And I'll be the first to admit, some people truly do lag like crazy. But I think the real culprit is, some people just know how to take advantage of the game better than others. Some of them do it on purpose, and some of them do it inadvertantly. But that doesn't necessarily mean that they lag. My definition of lag is, when your opponent is standing in one spot, not doing anything, and you're throwing endless fireballs at them, and they aren't recieving any damage. A perfect example of this is, one time I was fighting mastaq when he was on his home computer, and I swear the battle lasted at least 10 minutes. I had to have hit him with at least 30 supers. It wasn't his fault, of course. I think it's due mainly to the fact that his home computer has a slow processor, and can't keep up with the action. Another example of true lag, is when the battle just moves extremely slow, and it's hard as hell to do anything. The only way to eliminate these problems is to completely change the game, and design it so that you both see exactly the same battle. But this would require a delay on ALL of your moves (to send the information to your opponent, and vice-versa), and would make the game EXTREMELY difficult to play. You wouldn't be able to block when you needed to, and special moves would be hard to pull off. I wouldn't like it. Despite the problems, I'd rather keep the game as it is. All of this is just my opinion. But I know that certain people listed by some of you don't "lag," not by the true definition of the word. Fear_tetsuo, for example, is on cable, and has an extremely low ping. How could you possibly "lag" when your ping is low? Same with Nferno and dark-link. They're both on DSL. If you and your opponent both have fast computers and a fast connection, then I don't think lag has anything to do with the battles taking forever. It's most likely because you both are experienced, and know how to counter each other's strategy (with or without the use of cheapness). |

asshole wat connection u have
maybe its just ur pc..... |
Troy88: wow... u really DO understand .. *tear*
and yeah, u'r 100% right.. the "other way" to handle "lag" in the game just wouldn't work... unless everything is super slow.. and the game takes 10 second pauses every 30 seconds  it really is very hard/impossible to pull off a "perfect" and "flawless" game inside u'r browser (shockwave is not the quake engine)... i suppose it is one of the reasons why everyone is still making pong  still... anyone who has been here long enough, HAS seen the change... and we are a LONG way from 0.1a... it will get better... no doubt... just that.... everything takes time  |
Well, I must thank TMy for postin' in here, otherwise I never would have even looked in here. Troy88, that's some great thinking. You obviously understand lag and how it works very well... which reminds me, I was going to make a submission about it at Senshuk, but seeing as they havn't even put up that last one I sent in yet...
How would you like to compile a thorough explaination of "lag," how it is caused, ways people exploit it, how to decrease it, and how to incorporate it into your fighting technique? I'll go ahead and make my own and put it up at TIB, but since you're obviously qualified, I'd like to host one written by you as well. Just something I'd like to point out (you probably already know this). When people use techniques such as using 1 move over and over, to jumping around like crazy, to even corner raping; they ALL produce lag. Whether the person using this knows it or not, they're still causing lag because usually they're not hitting anything on the "reciever's" side but on their side they're just pumbelling the opponent with endless attacks. Back on the recieving side you're probably getting frustrated that none of your attacks work (occasionally supers do). In effect, employing such techniques (and knowing how to use them) will in effect, sometimes cause the "less laggy" opponent to gain the "lag advantage" in these situations. Take silver_fly for example. I remember fighting him before the jump lock was added. He had about regular lag as any other fighter I fought, except he super jumped almost every 2 seconds. And since he was doing it (and not taking any damage) I started doing it too. The result was a less than pleasing almost "airial" battle where neither of our healths seemed to move. Neither of us EVER landed a successful super (on that inflicts damage), and the game ended in a time over. Employing such techiniques as the above can/will cause more lag, and as you've said before, people who know how to exploit them will be the ones that seem to lag the most. |
O NOW I REMEMBER!
MVC2SUCKS WAS THE LAGGIEST PLAYER! ROFLMAO! |
Lol, i've played silver_fly. And you're right all he seems to do is superjump from one end of the screen to the other. It's not something i'll regard as lag. Once he's made his jump, i'll usually jump back and waste one of my supers. Mostly connecting. This is absolutely no lie. My hyper bar had reached level 2 i think. He, as you would expect is frantically trying to avoid a super. I SWEAR he made exactly 8 consecutive superjumps, back to back. Mugging the whole jump lock concept.
As for MVC2sucks, well he's one of the most ignorant players i've ever played against. He thoroughly low punches the whole entire game. Allowing me to rise my hyper bar to level 3 many times. Simply jump back and hit one of the supers and the corner rape is finally finished. On his side of the game, i've teleported and supered his ass. The technique is repeated. Man i don't know what is up with that guy. Doesnt he know his cheesy low punches are his actual drawback. Yet he persists. Once again this is not an example of lag. I'll tell you what lag is. Take knoksoner for an example. His game is running at a faster pace then mine. Okay. Immediately as the round starts, his hyper bar has increased rapidly. On my end the sign fight is just up. Me not making a single touch. Seeing his hyper bar and thinking whoa, i've only begun. Distraction at it's core. Okay i resume fight, firing hadokens and already his bar up at level 2. Him only making a single hadoken and some other roundhouses lets say. To me, thats a perfect example of lag. Him doing whatever to increase his hyper bar. Mine running on the slower connection, thus unabling myself to follow his attacks thoroughly. Him not playing cheap or anything. No jumping like crazy or doing repetitive moves. Just differences in comps and connections and such. That time i was running on 20fps. Him claiming to be on 40fps. Thats lag for you really. |
well Jason, u are sorta' right... (but not exactly)
due to the crappy performance of Shockwave on under $300 systems (such as this crappy p500 i'm using right now.. witha' $10 video card)... i've made SURE that the game only needs about 15 frames per second to run "smoothly"... anything above is just extra... thus... 20fps on u'r end should be the same as 40fps on his... (trust me on this one) the problem you've described however, is one of two things: 1: old "mash all punches and kicks to increase u'r hyper bar @ super-man like speeds" bug... (a bug that was fixed in 0.5a) 2: him REALLY .. (and i do mean "really") lagging... thus, the slow-arse connection between the two of you didn't send the packets "one @ a time", but delivered 20+sec worth of gameplay to u'r end in one big burst (u can imagine the problems there) solution ?? hyper moves.. noffin but hyper moves... they fill up the whole damn screen, do major damage, and clear up the lag like therez' no tommorow (the real key is knowing when to use them)... ... in any case... ALL of the problems mentioned in this thread were improved by about 10% in 0.5a... (but i'll be damned if anyone noticed any of the changes ...) |
Yes Jenson, the actual super jumps and duck punches are not laggy themselves, it's when your computer doesn't interpret it fast enough that they cause lag.
Lag is caused by the difference of running/download speeds of computers and you'll never get through a fight without experiencing some. Every single attack you use which misses your opponent on their screen but hits on your screen is lag-induced. When silver_fly is jumping around, that doens't cause much lag itself, but when you fire a super at him and he appears to get hit but is actually not, cause him to next "teleport" on your screen. That's lag. When MVC2sucks is duck punching you, you easily aviod the attack but on his screen he's still hitting you because his comp. didn't pick up on the dodge/block and as long as he continues to duck punch, none of your attacks will hit him and none of his attacks will hit you. When he stops, you'll "teleport" on his screen. That's lag. When you fight someone who's connection is drastically better than your own and they have various glitches that cause them to gain the "lag advantage." That's Extreme lag. Edit: Sorry, started replying to this post before TMyApp posted. Well, I have noticed that the frames needed to make a character "reset" after you're done attacking him and them recieving no damage (because they just avioded it) has been reduced since December (havn't played enough recently to notice it though) Still a shame they don't reset while they're in the air (which is why using too many tornado claws CAN be a problem). And the hyper moves.. While I'm glad they clear lag.. it's just bad to have to fight people with NOTHING but hyper moves just because the opponent won't do anything but run away whenever you try to engage in close range combat. Solution?? I doubt there is one. Some people are just plain cowards. |
remember when i complained about mvc2 cheating?
i found out he just hard punch me in the corner (on his screen) while i was kicking and doing supers on mines... his health did not went down.... but what so laggy about him is.. he was on 14k or 24k or something modem :baaa: |
[quote:post_uid0="DX Zero"]O NOW I REMEMBER!

WALLACH laggs too :corky:
