2:47 AM ... monday morning... once AGAIN... the game is up (finally)...

i'll try not to make this post too long... but... i'll also try to provide some info of how or why you and the rest of the world can play XvsSF again .. (free as always) :biggrin:

... no... while you might think the "server problems" (more like "hosting" problems) were fixed... they haven't.... we are still running the game off the SAME web servers that can pull the plug on us at ANY given moment... each game you play.. may be your last... (sorry, but thats the truth)

the only reason we are up, is because i gave up almost all sleep since wednesday.... (or was it tuesday ?? well.. whenever the game went down ... working 14+ hours a day made me lose track of time) .... during that time, i've re-coded most of the game's code to allow it to be hosted on multiple servers @ once...

what does this mean to you (the "end user") ?? nothing... you can still play the game as always (or use the new "downloadable" version) ... but since we can now use multiple servers as hosts, we bought ourselves SOME time (who knows how much)...

i'm sure few of you care.. but.. thats what happened...

so.. to get us back on track... we are STILL in need of a good web host provider, and we still need your support (even if its not money)

... now... just so you all know, what drove me to work those 14 hours each and every day (on top of my fulltime job) is your support (or @least support of those who gave it)... i think one thing is clear... XvsSF got more responses and more paraises in death, than it ever had in life... and i just hope that this will NOT stay true in the future...

so.. in the end.. it wasn't huge amounts of cash, or even shiny new servers that saved the game (or @least brought it back for a little while)... it was, and always has been your (non bitching) support....

@this point i would like to thank all those who helped (more so than usual) during these difficult few days:

the dev/hosting team (lefty, Zing/Quass, mods, the "xCrew" and all the chat server hosts) ... aside from providing u'r regular mental "don't give up you bastard" support... u also did a lot of other things (such as offering whatever it takes to get the damn game up... even if it ment either empty'in u'r pockets, and risking a termination of u'r internet/web account)

nosoul4evr: i dont know what to say man... the donation... wow... blew me away... i really didn't think ANYONE would do what you did... and i'm not sure if anyone will in the future... i know u'll deny all this, and say that "you were just trying to help" and "you dont' need anything in return" ... but that just NOT going to happen... :biggrin:

in the next little while you see some changes in your account (both game and forum)... not to mention your web site and game/community status... i just hope everyone rememmba's u'r name... cause they'll be seeing a LOT more of it from this point on....

and.... the rest... (you know who you are since you got a reply from me either via email or the forum itself in the last few days) .... again... great support from all of you... it really kept me going through all that lack of sleep :(

As a long term follower but first time poster I'd like to say thanks too. You've done a fantastic job. But without spoiling this party atmosphere, I'd like to remind everyone exactly why this is possible, because of the hard work and generosity of people Like TMyApp, the Mods, NoSoul4Evr and the whole team. When you see the bugs that are inevitable, or if things go wrong again, please show your support, don't fight or piss the people who are doing all this for you and for free off. Cos that's really not fair, not to mention ungrateful. Just make sure you remeber.
