There are sometimes that I'd be playing against wolverine(especially online against someone), and then he does his drill claw and this move just keeps on piercing and my life bar keeps reducing. I wanted to ask if this was normal or is it a glitch?

Scarlet~Rose 04-07-2003 04:41 PM

I have had people do that to me too...I was wondering the same thing. I usually use wolvie and I can't do that move...it seems so cheap to me.

Neo_genic 04-07-2003 04:54 PM

I have only done that move once by button mashin and can't do it again... Could someone let us in?

supersaiyans10 04-07-2003 04:56 PM

Drill claw: J and I at the same time. or k1+p2

Yeah drill claw does do alot of damage, if it connects. I especially find this cheap when people use this over and over again. Lag sees to teleport them in front of me everytime they do a Drill Claw. :p

Neo_genic 04-07-2003 07:26 PM

OMG it works, kick ass!

Scorponok 04-07-2003 08:37 PM

Half of my health was taken away by one drill claw.. I was KO'ed by one HP in practice mode..

Neo_genic 04-07-2003 09:26 PM

Whenever I use It though it hits them 2 time at the max then he flips back, But when the someone else does it it drills you, excuse the pun...

SSJKarma 04-07-2003 09:30 PM

ok, if you meant that your character wasn't blocking the move, then it is a big bug !
probably due to the all mighty BLOCK BUG that many seems to have ! which makes you character not being able to block some moves !

otherwise, if you were meaning that you were blocking but your charcaters does get damage anyway... (a little less then usual) then this is what we call CHEAP DAMAGE !

example: (based on real life)
if i punch you hard and you block but putting both of your hands in front of your face... will it not hurt a bit ?

thus this is CHEAP DAMAGE... even if you block, you get damaged, (damage being reduced by 1/2 or 3/4 depending on the move) so all you have to do is block, then superjump. by blockiung the opponent is suppose to be pushed backward after the 3 hit ! that will be your time to superjump out of the way ! or throw in an helper + super ! which is accurate too !

ssj karma thanks a lot but that's not the problem...
The thing is this drill claw literally drills you for about 5 seconds causing damages only surpassed by a variable or raging demon. Other times it's just normal and takes a little. Other times it's just dreadful and sometimes it doesn't look good. Just wanted to know if that's how the drill claw was meant to be!!

pip99 04-08-2003 10:50 AM

that happens 2 me in tag.

REDLINEINC 04-09-2003 01:52 AM

:buttrock:
Yes the drill claw takes a lot of energy. But this new Wolverine I seen in a light green color takes even more energy. The only way u can reduce the damage is by staying near the wall. Let's face it,
The mijority of the players are going to us these super energy moves to win. Might as welll learn to do it back.. :sly:

The green wolverine is a vip wolverine. Fortunatelyor unfortunately he isn't the only one that does that sort of thing with the drill claws. The yellow, red and the other wolvies do it too!!!

04-09-2003 04:07 PM

blanka09: Yes... this is a bug/glitch. Wolverine is suposed to jump back upon hiting his opponent or hitting a block, but instead he just gets stuck doing the same move.

SSJKarma: No.. the problem is not with blocking. You can block this move, but you'll still be blocking several hits (sometimes). This doesn't happen every time you fight, but Wolverine does get stuck occasionally.

redlineinc: Green wolverine's have nothing to do with it. This glitch can/does happen with all Wolverine's. The VIP Wolverine is only different in appearance, and not with moves/damage.

blanka09 04-09-2003 04:39 PM

Thanks for clearing that up.. I guess we just have to watch out for the drill claws cause you do not know the one that might get stuck there....
It also happens sometimes with ryu's kicks but the drill claws are worse!! Thanks anyway.

when you asre fighting wolverine on 1 on 1 tag. you will see the person doing alot of drill claw to power up and u see alot of lag coming with it. lag makes drill claw even powerful i lost all my life on one drill claw when i couldnt even see cause of lag.

blanka09 04-15-2003 05:59 AM

That's what I'm talking about. I think the best thing to do is to avoid drill claws as much as you can while playing

ShinKosai 04-16-2003 04:44 AM

Dodging the attack doesn't detract from the fact there's a big bug though... I've compared wolverine's drill claw with other games he's appeared in and the key thing I've noticed is that 'here' you can almost constanly do the move! whereas normally there is a limit between each drill claw before you can do it again.

(kind of like ryu with fireballs which I see the proper limit for has been programmed well compared to wolverine)

of course if you did that then you'd probably have to do something similar for cyclops and his optic blasts... so then a new question arises... are you aiming to try and recreate the experience in an online format, or are you just aiming for a fanproject where the characters are unbalenced like MvC2?
