the rank dosent matter because it dosent show how much skill u have all it shows is how many kills you've got and for some reason ppl dont seem to understand that and think that the person ranked first is the best (which he isnt)

im not some rank freak but when i was rank 2 it was nice 2 hav.. ??? but no1 really carea *cough* fighter.....*cough* yourassimy...

MIG i agree with your point but it somtimes it is up to how much skill you have. Only when your opponent is cheap does rank not come down to skill.

Currently rank does not matter. The scoreboard is exactly that....a scoreboard. It tracks the players total points earned and diplays them in decending order starting from the highest total. This is simply the players high score, not their "true rank".

I have seen players with 50 wins, 52 losses, make it onto the first page of the scoreboard in the past. Simply because they fought a player with alot of points and won against them a couple of times. Because these kind of players have less wins than they do losses they would obviously not deserver a high "rank" simply because they have alot of points.

I think the best way to remove the ranking system argument is to remove the words "RANK" from the highscoreboard, and replace them with the words "HIGHSCORE". because that is what it is....the players "highscore".
And not a true rank.

I personally don't think that "highscores" don't matter. I have a pretty low score, but I think that I fight pretty good.

I remember when I fought Nosoul4evr. I beat him decently when he chose Wolverine, but when he chose Ryu, it was the other way around. If lag wasn't apart of that particular match, I'm not sure who would've won.

As for way too many others, lag helps them to win, for I have very good strategic ability...but their just 20-99 hit combos, and don't last the whole match. Lag helps all, but often is against many...especially me.

The "highscore" board means something to me, but not much. It'll only get me recognized. Other than that, I don't care. I've never been in the top 100, but that doesn't mean I'm not a good fighter.

I believe rank doesn't matter either.I think there are alot of good fighters out there with probably ranks of 1000+,its just that lag seems to be against them all the time.

I also think that because of lag this game is more like a win by luck instead of win by skill.There has been plenty of times where I think I've won by luck and plenty of times my opponents won by luck.Now that I have the download version of the game every once and a while I would have a less lag fight with someone and it would be a win by skill match.

I think if there was no lag what so ever then maybe rank would matter because it would show the true skill of alot of people.

Even though I/You cant always see exactly whats going on.(due to low FPS,and lost packets of data)...its not hard to interprit. "what" your opponent is doing, and how the LAG is effecting play.

Taking in the 2 factors, you need to fight corrosponding. Then it is easy to defeat any opponent.

Some scenarios require you be cheap. Some scenarios require that you use LAG. Some require near "normal" fighting tactics, and some require alot of "skill"

No matter what requirement you use in defeating an opponent...it is all equated into a players over all knowledge and experience with the game,that will determine their over all "skill".

Rank doesn't mean a thing, I can take some of the highest ranked/best players down quite fast if lag doesn't get in the way.

Alot of the players seem to have the "you can't beat me" kind of attitude, and I take most of them and smack them around in a few matches.

Even after I beat them black and blue, they still will say some of the most stupid things, to try and hide that fact that they lost.

I find it funny, that at least half the people I play, will actually INSULT ME when they are losing/have already lost the match.

I guess most people can't handle losing to me, and having there precious little "rank" get damaged. I must be very scary to alot of people, because most WILL NOT stay to finish an entire match against me.

I have even had some people BEG ME not to kill them, and to "help" them get a better rank. I have had people in the top 10 ask me for help, when it comes to getting a better rank.

If I had to "rank" myself on say skill, I would put myself in NO LESS then the top 50,. I am definately NOT A BEGGINER, it just seems that way sometimes because of lag.

well for some people rank matters and for others it doesn'T........I mean the majority of the high ranked player play 24/7 and they're pretty cheap........I mean I played a lower ranked player and it was a great match.........thbe first one I lost the second one I won.........he was ranked like 5000 sumthin........so ranks don't matter to me........

rank moves round a lot and victories mean more than pionts..
