as of right now i think the drunken smashers is the best clan.
btw physicals r scary, how are you gonna say that are clan sux and is filled w/ a bunch of newbies. mostly everyone in our clan fights good. do you even know who are members are anyway?

asshole 02-07-2002 07:46 PM

J-dog, to be honest, I think clans are for pussies.... I mean a person only joins a clan "to feel special" and will think that everyone from the clan has his back... Why else would someone join clans?

02-07-2002 07:57 PM

well maybe....a bet....could do it!!! a person doesnt always join a clan to feel special. i dont necessarily think that everyone from my clan has my back. some hate me. also, ppl are joining clans cause its the latest thing on this site. it makes things funner. anyway, back to the subject. i think as of right now, the drunken smashers is the best clan.

princevegetam 02-08-2002 05:54 AM

I agree with jdog. That's all i got to say.

Nantuko Joe 02-08-2002 06:03 AM

all i got to say is that Drunken Smashers is the best clan

Nferno666 02-08-2002 01:40 PM

yeah...the only other clan that has a good player is Zings but hes the only good 1 in it

steventhebol 02-08-2002 02:09 PM

hahahahahahahaha...........lol lol lol oh thats so funny!!

02-08-2002 02:42 PM

steven, this is here for a reason. please stay on subject.
PPL, IF YOU ARE NOT GONNA SAY WHO YOU THINK IS THE BEST, DONT POST. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!

Physicals r scary 02-08-2002 02:47 PM

the mods clan is the best, im not even gunna say that smashers suck, although they do, because you guys wont listen anyways

steventhebol 02-08-2002 03:02 PM

Calm down J-dog it will be okay. The best clan is........................what my signature says. Anyway I thought there was a mod clan. hmmmmmmmmm....

xXsilverXx 02-08-2002 04:46 PM

ok. i don't know where i'm supposed to put this so i'm puttin it here. i was recruited by j-dog, what ever that means.

steventhebol 02-08-2002 07:56 PM

*suspicious look on face *

hey buddy, fuck you

and its amazing how almost every post on here is from a smasher? Could it be cause they have no standards and will let the newbiest noob in.
and I'm not just saying that, I have heard other smashers tell me that u guys have no standards.
Didn't u think it was weird how all the other clans have like 10 ppl, when u guys have 20 or 30. cause....they have standards, and u dont. In most clans, you have to have skills to be let in a clan, not just say "hey I want in"
isn't there some sort of test to get into your clan??
to just let ppl in seems kind of....patheic.

and this topic is stupied anyway, ppl are just gonna come in here and say there clan is the best cause thats the one there in, duh!

02-09-2002 12:35 AM

you didnt answer the question. but anyway, back to the topic............................................. .......

steventhebol 02-09-2002 05:47 AM

hey im not ignorant. I only joined the smashers because it seemed as though it was the only clan around and i knew selvin pretty well by the forum. Then I heard about Zings clan but i had already joined the smashers and i have no regrets about that!! Plus i got major skill. Just dont put all your hatred at the smashers.

Selvin 02-09-2002 07:27 AM

Even though it is my clan, when I attempted to recruit TMyApp he said there will be a MOD clan. I think that will be the best. I know for a fact that no clan sucks, but I also so know there are clans that can improve. I still say that possibly 90% of these posts where biased, but when that MOD clan comes... ugh...

House Ordos 02-09-2002 07:58 AM

Smashers used to be stronger than it is now.

That seems like an odd statement, I know, but whilst my record against Smashers used to be terrible (thankyou Nferno666 :)) but as you get more members, your clan (as a whole) becomes easier to beat.

I know that sounds strange, and you have many talented players, but you have lost your elite status, as some of your players are letting the side down.

That's just my observation, anyway ... since there isn't an official memberlist at the moment, I can't back up my comments, but that's just my two cents. Sorry if I have offended anyone, and I don't know quite how you can get around your problems, but good luck to you - each and every Smasher I have ever played has, at the least, been kindly and a good sport, and that's something that you all ought to be proud of.

Selvin 02-09-2002 09:37 AM

Well Zing79 said something abiut clan high scores, so I have been thinking about making divisions in the Drunken Smashers clan, but unfortunately my internet access has been VERY limited.

yes i agree, therefore i am leaving drunken smashers. BYE BYEs

princevegetam 02-09-2002 11:30 AM

oh my god, you're leaving? Please close this topic right away, it might persuade other drunken smashers to leave.

Dan Hibiki 02-09-2002 12:00 PM

It doesn't matter who we let into the Drunken Smashers... doesn't matter if they suck when they join. It matters if they can become a good player under our training. You can only find so many good players by searching the chat rooms for easily-recognized names. You need to do a little searching for those who have potential to become great fighters.

So, it isn't that we are bogging ourselves down with newbies or lame-assed players, it is that we are preparing them to be tomorrow's leaders of this online game. We take in anybody, and work to transform them into a somebody that people will jump to challenge when they enter the chat rooms. Skill is important, but the ability to pass on such skills is more important than anything else... what would happen if Gouken could not teach Ryu and Ken Shotokan martial arts? We would have no Street Fighter games.

I mean no disrespect with this comment, but some people are just so one-dimensional... they can never see things in another way. You look at those new members of the Drunken Smashers, and you would see potential, the potential to win, rather than the ability to win at the start. Everybody was bad at the game sometime, and had to learn the right way to play. I hope that people will give more consideration towards the motives of others before condemning their actions in the future. Thank you.

House Ordos 02-09-2002 01:08 PM

That's fine, Dan, and as most of you already know, this is the exact policy we operate with the European Union - anyone and everyone can join, on the basis that each and every player has potential. I'm not condemning your actions at all, just asking for some justification, which you have adequately provided, Dan. I don't understand some of the posts here, and I don't see quite why the fact that you encourage new players to improve and improving players to get better is 'pathetic' (quoth the Kid) but I support your policy, since it is less elitist than other clans, and that is something you ought to be proud of. That 'elitism' is something you seem to be renowned for amongst newer players, and this open-doors training scheme seems like a wonderful idea that will change the face of your clan, and make the game more enjoyable for everyone. Simply put, there will be more good players, and that is a good thing, without a shadow of a doubt.

What kind of training schemes do you operate, just out of curiosity, since I have been looking for a good way to run one but since senshukentaikai doesn't allow strategy etc. on clansites, I'm a bit stumped!

Dan Hibiki 02-09-2002 01:57 PM

We haven't organized ourselves to that point yet, House Ordos. A nice way to train is practice (of course). At the end of each practice match the loser can offer a rematch. Rather than instantly answer 'Yes', you can use that time to discuss the pros and cons of the fight, and offer better ways to fight. When you feel everything has been covered, the winner can accept the rematch and the fighting continues. This method is useful for whatever type of training you have (whether it be generally fighting, lag-prediction, learning a new character, etc.) so that both people can get a better understanding of the fights and improve much faster.

Hmm... perhaps I should create a training program for my clan. It could help greatly, and may even work to counter some of the banes of this online game! Interesting...

Dan scratches his chin while contemplating his next move concerning this topic. He then goes over to Senshukentaikai.com and thinks some more.

Nantuko Joe 02-09-2002 02:52 PM

Dan, i already responded to your brainstorm over at Senshukentaikai forum. We could post more basic strategies, moves, and specials for each character, along with other strategies on how to fight against other characters (Ryu vs Wolvie or Chun-Li, etc). Then, when they are ready, the nOObs could meet a designated member of Drunken Smashers in the server and have a match to see how good they are (we'll go easy on them, of course). We can then analyze their strengths and weaknesses, and in turn that will make them better players.

Dan Hibiki 02-09-2002 02:56 PM

Ah, this is good... but I wanted more of a factory-like method, where we could have each member specialize in one aspect of the game (doesn't mean that the person sucks at all other aspects), and teach newbies their methods regarding that aspect.

Nantuko Joe 02-09-2002 03:06 PM

Oh, i see. Though that is also a good way, i believe that training them one-by-one with a designated trainer is the best way. This will teach them their strengths and weaknesses, which they can improve on. A factory-like method, though effective, will only make them average players. A hands-on experience with one-by-one training will make them into much better fighters.

Dan Hibiki 02-09-2002 03:11 PM

What about both methods? The factory to get new members up to speed, then the one-on-one training sessions to expand the person's skills!

Nantuko Joe 02-09-2002 03:23 PM

Very true, Dan. Very true. I will wait for the pain from the Molten Influence and the Whiskey bottle to subside, then i will make a suggestion. You and I should be the teachers that will train the nOObs. We should create a special section in Selvin's xsorbit.com site, with you and I as the mods. then, you can factory train them, while I will train them one-on-one. we could also have a FAQs section

steventhebol 02-09-2002 03:45 PM

i could be one of the trainers dont you think i know yall going to say no. :(

Dan Hibiki 02-09-2002 03:47 PM

If you'd like to be you can.

02-09-2002 10:01 PM

please get back on topic, ppl. bye epyon.

KidKrazyShit 02-10-2002 06:20 PM

ya see max, this is one of the many reasons why I hate you. you say clans are gay, yet u were in one only yesturday. get your story straight

Selvin 02-10-2002 07:22 PM

Well I say once again Good Luck Epyon, but now I will start the try outs thing. It is sad though, because I wanted clans to be fun for everyone, but when I try to let everyone in, I get people ticked off. So whenever I have time, I am making an OFFICIAL list of Drunken Smashers. (Let me remind you all that I have been on for 1 hour in 5 days so I am behind)

02-11-2002 05:55 AM

ok......now back to the topic please. and btw max, you were just trying to get back in smashers. why you complaining now?

Selvin 02-11-2002 07:00 AM

MAX willl never be in Drunken Smashers, but now I believe there is no better clan. I think we are all equally matched. (If you check the win lost records, I am pretty sure everyone has a few loses.)

Nantuko Joe 02-11-2002 07:13 AM

Selvin, you gotta change the password for our private section of Senshukentaikai.com forum. Mastermax has re-registered under the alias of "Madmax", and has used the current password to access the private forum. You must change the pasword
