i was wondering if someone could tell me what cyclop's weakness is...

cause i have only fougt cyclops user twice so far and won...
still i am wondering what cyclop's weakness is against ryu or any other character...

You mean people still use cyclops ???

Cyclops has no weaknesses...atleast to my knowledge. I don't think that even cheap spidey players stand a chance against cyclops.

Cyclops weaknesses:

vs Ryu: Cyclops kills him

vs Wolverine: dash under(goes under his projectiles, and optic sweep doesnt work since it's so slow.), His Blasts goes through Wolverines BBX, which is easy pickens for cyke, only his supers can counter Wolvies BBX.

vs Chunli: Cyclops has a bit of an edge, what Chunli has to do is trap cyclops in the corner, and it's an automatic win, sounds easy? Not exactly. Though Chunli is like spider man, meaning she can be in the air pretty much the whole match, she can't do any damage in the air, that's the problem. Spider man can be in the air all day and keep attacking you till you die, chunli has to get up close... so it depends...

vs Sentinel: EEEErrrrrkkkk.... error.. (destroyed)

vs spider-man: Even though Cyclops has his air blasts, Spider man can just air block it, and go to the other side, and as we all know, cyclops game is in the corner, not in the middle, or air. One thing Spider has to watch out for is to not be predictable, not to be slow, and always be in the air. Spider can dodge cyclops supers, even though he gets hit by his geometric blast, it won't deal much, and the opponent won't even know where Spidey is(since he moves around a lot).

TarkanX: I havn't been playing enough to test it out in the latest version... but last time I tried, Cyc's "Optic sweep" move would stop Wolverine's BBX.

As far as exploitable techniques go?

Ryu: Dragon punch... WITH LIGHT PUNCH DAMIT. Get 'em in a corner and do it forever...

Chun-li: Greatest attack being the lightning kick and charging up your super metter for her supers (both ground attacks work about even).

Sentinel: Sentinel beam and rocket punch like crazy (you'll lose anyways... if your hosting on normal mode you MIGHT have a chance).

Interesting, though it doesn't make much of a difference. Wolverine when he launches his BBX will usually be in the middle, and it takes about 1.25-1.5 seconds for cyclops to do optic sweep, which he is extended, and could get hit from his length extention.

WOAH!! This actually works! There was never a use for Ryu's DP, especially his last 2 punches(MP, HP), but theres actually a use! Though Cyclops can just block, then jump, and while Ryu's coming down, he'll do it again, so cyclops will block while jumping, then Cyclops jumps again(while in the air) away from Ry, and form there, Cyke continues his dominance over Ryu, though that's still an interesting strategy.

Yeah, by the way, does Cyke blasts(specials, not supers) go through Chunli's 2 supers?(Kikoshou, and Senretsu kyaku).

Well, you don't really have a chance if both players are at the same skill level, basically the match goes like this:

*fight begins*

Cyclops dashes back, and Sentinel rocket punches, Cyclops gets block damaged.

Cyclops begins blasting

Sentinel can't do anything because if he does, he get killed much faster, he can't jump and attack, he can't do ANYTHING.

Ryu: Yeah... your right, but your screen doesn't usually pick up on it (unless your in an unbelievably low lag game), so you can get away with it :biggrin:

Chun li: Her supers can only be blocked by a projectile or super move... So Cyclops' beams have no effect (excluding optic sweep unless it was fixed in the latest version).

Sentinel: Thus the reason I said if your hosting on normal mode and MIGHT have a chance to win... it's all about corner raping them on your screen (defense). Even though they'll be kickin' your ass on their screen, if you can avoid being hit on your screen... they'll eventually get careless (and/or start missing the buttons) and get hit by some of your attacks while you just sit back and lag like crazy :biggrin:

..which is really the primary goal of any good strategy.. hit your opponent while you can spare it, but don't let it take presidence over saving your own hide. If this means corner raping them--even if you know 99% of it won't connect givin that you'll barely be touched in the process of your corner raping. However, without lag, none of these stragegies would be of any use because your opponent could start acting like the ai, and as you mentioned earlier, block (and actually have it seen/go through on your opponent's side).

Oh did I mention it was on turbo and I had just beaten the sentinels? :laugh: :laugh: :laugh: :D :)

You were in practice mode? If so... yeah, just keep attacking and he'll eventually die.

If it was against some real player... well, they're usually not too difficult in turbo since Cyc. can't cancel out Chun's supers (however, almost impossible to win in normal mode).

it is possible to beat cyke with ryu and sent...he only really has long range attacks so all you need to do is get in next to him and start kicking the crap out of him at close range and never let him get u stuck with optic blasts

Ryu and Sent can beat Cyke, Ryu has a better advantage than Sent though, if you use Sent against Cyke, your going to have to work REALLY hard to beat him. Though like you said, all you have to do is get next to him, Cyke will move around if he sees the opponent going to him, so he'll continue blasting the opponent from long range.

A good mix up for cyke is: HP, optic blast *repeat*

This prevents Ryu and Sent users from coming close to him.

evil ryu is a cyc killer the teleportation goes through optic blasts but! optic sweeps and p3 still stops evil ryu...but personally just jumpin over cyc is easy enough...wit normal ryu even..

yes but not all of us have he privellage to be vip's or sponsored vip's s while you can simply use teleport the rest of us mere memmbers are stuck with having to find other ways :D

just hit and blasrt if u know XFADERX he is a cheap who uses cyclops ALWAYS WHEN WE FIGHT

the way i beat cyclops if there being cheap is do a super jump and land right beside him and do a bazerka barage x then jump back super jump again and while ur in the air keep pressing different bottons so it makes ur power bar rise and then when u land super jump up again and land beside him and do the same continue until dead :D

the only reason i can give u that i know is spmehow get really close to him. once u r close enuff u should just punch he will not be able to blast u so it shouldnt be that hard
