I stopped by a friends house the other day...and what to my wondering eyes should appear..but an X-box,Playstation 2,oh yeah and the Nintendos Game Cube.
Game Cube In my opinion dont even waste your money on the game cube...it's a trinkety ugly little box that uses the mini cd's. And from the games that i saw played on it. It is basicaly the same old Nintendo Merchandice they've been cramming down out throats for years, and is still directed to the little tikes.ugh! PS2 Not too shabby im pretty impressed it allows you to play old playstation games on it as well as the new ones, and uses the same old controlers as well...how much more universal can ya get? Graphics wise I realy wasnt to impressed...there are still alot of hard lines like in the standard PS games...but still very impressive. In my opinion PS2 is worth the money hands down. X-Box WoW! Bill Gates you have out done your self. X-box blew my mind the graphics were intense and the replay value on the games i played was terrific..i spent hours just mesmerized by the lush scenery...and the worlds were enormous! One game in peticular i just couldnt get enough of it...it was a race game,,,(cant recall the name)..and the cars looked real and handled like you would expect a real car to handle, with some of the coolest music i have yet to hear on a game,,all in all the X-Box is the platform of the year in my opinion...if you want the system from #### id look into it..WoW  (Edited by nosoul4evr at 1:56 am on Dec. 31, 2001) |
that x-box racing game was project gotham racing.
about the NGC comment: I loved nintendo ever since the NES, days... even ever since the days where they made arcade games like donkey kong.... the SNES was my favorite system ever, and will still remain that. the N64 is what made nintendo suck. i always stuck with ninetndo since the 80's, but i bought a PSX and I said PSX over the N64, i never even liked that system, too many crap, and kiddy games. Now the game cube got a lot of hype, so i might get that, but if acts like the N64 did... then forget it. pros: great games, fun for everyone cons: no DVD, no CD Playstation 2 comment: I still think the PSX is better than the PSX2, but its a great system, it can play DVD's, the title are well done instead of just thrown at titles that arent even halfed finish like the PSX, I might get this system, only if they make a street fighter(not EX) game for it. pros: has everything cons: pretty big system about X-box comment: i was at the mall yesterday playing NFL fever, i suck at football games except ABC monday night football for super nintendo(i could score 130+ points in that game). but this game had great graphics, great gameplay, but i had to keep looking at the controller to see what button I'm pressing which i dont usually do. pros: like the PSX2, it has everything crammed in one cons: man that system is freakin huge, and the controller too.... what a way to rip off copy video game controllers Bill Gates. Sorry Nosoul if I did my own opinion and you didnt like that... |
LoL thats what this topic is for..."Speak it man!"
And yeah that Gotham racing is the bomb..i reccomend it to every one...ya get "Kudos" points for making clean pass's,jumps, slides, and making it through intersections with out knicking anything,,,and the damage that the vehicals takes can go from gradual the extreem depending on how hard ya hit stuff... ..i played a pretty neat off road game on the X-Box as well...the terrains were huge with some of the most crazy stuff to attempt to climb over...in the 2 player mode we played "tag" on the "Free Roam" option...one player would be "it" and as soon at the cars made contact the other player became "it"...this isnt an option you can choose to play...ya just kinda do it. it was loads of fun  I do agree the X-Box controllers could use to be designed differantly...how ever the "pressure sensitive" trigger buttons RULE! to be able to give a vehical just a little gas instead of wide open when you press them is great!...the braking works the same way...no more haveing to tap the brake in order to slow down...just gradualy press the brake to the amount of braking power you desire...awesome! I owned the first Nintendo it was cool when it first came out...but then i discovered Sega and was overtaken with it..(and all it's stupid accessories like the 32x)... then came 3DO wow first cd base plat that i owned..it had the first and BEST Need for Speed...at the beginning and end of every match they had a movie of this guy ranting...he was very much like Denis Leary except talking car talk...and i never did get to see all the movies..there were tons..and although the games graphics pale in comparison to todays standard...the cars handleing was undescribably accurate in thier feel....and on a 50 inch TV with surround sound...holy geez! WoW! Then i got the Playstation..and it has pretty much set the standard for platforms in my opinion,They havent been like Nintendo and suck my wallet dry with all these giggets and gizzmo's and changing there entire plat interface every time they come up with a new version..PlayStation is staying pretty much with one platform design and interface. I dont have to throw out my old games, and controllers. Or stuff them in the closet to collect dust..and the PS2 has a hard drive just like the X-Box...makeing it possible to make enourmous realms. And that whole DVD thing is one of the things that i think will keep the PS2 sales up..and the PS3 is suppose to be internet capable....####! it's a new age in gaming guys and gals!...your every day gaming plat is now becoming exactly like the computer that we all use on a daily basis....i wonder what ol' Bill thinks of that?...he's probably selling them the hardware to make these #### things, and loving every minute of it! (Edited by nosoul4evr at 2:11 am on Dec. 31, 2001) |
What is the RRP of the X-Box in American dollars? I wanted to know the price so I can compare it with the Australian RRP.
(Edited by Onslaught at 5:00 pm on Dec. 31, 2001) |
X-Box is selling for 300 American,

if this topic contiues on with ignorance I WILL lose it. X-box is BEYOND crap. That controller is pathetic (can barely get my hands around it), but more importantly they have shit for games. Halo is the only game worth playing, and x-box has NOTHING on the horizon that is either new or innovative. If you buy that system now, you are an obsolute idiot. Look at the games that are scheduled to be released on that thing. They are either ports of other games, or games that no one cares about.
If you must choose between systems its either nintendo with they're kick ass first, and second party, or sony with their third party games...THAT simple. to even suggest that the cube is a kiddie system is reaking of lack of research. If you want to bring that topic into this forum, you had better leave the stupidity at the door. I own that "trinkety ugly little box", and have half the games for it...and oddly enough, half of those games are targeted at ppl my age (hmmm...sure shoots down that theory doesn't it). As for the mini disks, those are dvd's NOT cd's. They hold 1.5 gigs of data (which is way more then what most games need these days). As I continue to type, and reference your posts my anger seems to shoot WAY the fu** up. There are so many bullshit statements you have spewed, that I could take up 2 pages retorting to them. Just do me a favor, and do some #### realistic research, avoiding all your biased opinions, and then maybe I'll take you seriously. or better yet, why don't you let the unbiased reporters who are actually educated in the technology do the reporting, and commenting on the game systems? can you tell Im getting angry? |
 LoL...looks like i hit a sore spot.
to tell ya the truth i have not looked into what is to be released on X-box.But i played all the systems today and tried about 5 games on each...and i was seriously impressed with the X-Box...the controler size sucks i agree,,,but thats an easy fix....CD's DvD whats the diff lil pieces of plastic that hold info. oh yeah...Nintendo Sucks...Marios a fag..i seen lotsa games by nintendo...they are pretty good, some rule.(much better than i could make)..but in general...blah! never been much of a nintendo guy my self. and this was my reveiw of the systems.just like Siskal & Ebert "Aye" or "Nay".it's quite apparent you feel differantly Ebert...LoL  i can tell you are a TRUE Nintendo fan Zing  This was never meant to be a technical report...im not vidiot enough to reveiw the specs on all 3 systems..dont care that much...and as for being bias..i dont own any of the 3 systems, how much more unbias can ya get Mr Cube owner. (Edited by nosoul4evr at 3:24 am on Dec. 31, 2001) |
I have A X-Box and Ps2 to me i like pS2 but like Dead or alive III it ricks She kicks hi Yeah lol
|
i agree with zing a little ill wate for the price to go down a 100 but halo is not the only best best one up there wut about grand theft auto 3 tats sweet!!
|
PS2
|
PS2 is ok and as for x box my little hands cant fit around the controller and as for game cube never played it
|
The X-Box is nothing but a piece of mechanical crap created by a monopolizing organization that has nothing on its mind except the domination of a new technology field with its massive monetary backings. Guess what, though? It is failing. X-Box's controller and system are huge and useless. I don't like any of the games; I could play Dead or Alive 2 for the Dremcast if I really wanted to play that series. None of the games (with exception to Halo, I still don't like the framerate on that game) are deserving to even be glanced at by my gaming expert eyes. The system actually slows down for no reason sometimes... and I talked with the poor souls who puchased it, and many of them had hard drive crashes the first day that it was purchased! Talk about a piece of shit.
I have no problems with the Playstation 2, I just don't like it because it is competing with the GameCube. It's controller is okay and it does have the largest game library around. My major flaw with this system: there are too many games, making the PS2 market flooded by cheap material. As for the GameCube, I have my 赨 right here. Give it to me now, #### it! It is small, but its graphics can blow you away. The controller is perfect, and feels like it was molded from the contours of your hands. And I also agree with Zing79 on this one: call the GameCube a 'kiddie' system again, and I will hunt you down. Third parties are not being intimidated by Nintendo's complicated registration procedures for those games. First party games are going to remain great (with exception to Luigi's Mansion); Wave Race: Blue Storm, Pikmin, and Super Smash Bros. Melee make me want to spend all my money for such high-quality entertainment. I got a Dreamcast for christmas, though... at least the games are very cheap now... But there you have it. For those of you too lazy to read the whole thing above, I hate (really, really hate) the X-Box, I am okay with the PS2, and I must have the GameCube. |
LoL
this topic contains some of the most enormous posts i have yet to see here in the forum....crazy big posts, guys! |
Me? I kinda think that fanboys are stupid, but thankfully, this post hasn't exploded into an epic flame war yet...
I agree with Dan Hibiki that the Xbox isn't exactly what Microsoft was promising the gaming community. The PS2 is my system of choice, and the GameCube is okay, but there are only a few GCN games that I like (Pikmin, Smash Bros. Melee, and Rogue Leader). However, that's probably because the system just launched, and hopefully we'll see some good games hit the shelves for it. Hopefully, M$ will get the idea to get it's act together before it commits marketing suicide with the Xbox... |
ya its for ps2 too
|
ok i read the first few posts then skipped everthing else lol.. umm project gotham racing? i got metropolis street racing for DC its the same company and..um i dont know if it feels real because i dont drive..yet............
and TarkanX they do have an sf game for ps2...snk vs capcom 2... i tried xbox at kmart (lol) and i certainly like the gamplay but...the controller is huge and would probably give u arthrithis if played to much (like the computer Lol) and everthing else looks like a cheap plastic toy.. gamecube...its worth it :) it is small, fit for every1, enough to keep u entertained like most systems..connects to GBadvance, and more.. if i were a rich fat guy i'd but both ..and ps2 :) |
i like the ps2 the best. i got it for christmas. to tell you the truth, i dont know how i lived without it.plus it was good that i got it b/c it made me be able to give my mom my psone for christmas.
i would buy the gamecube. it is reasonable and is a good system. the only games i am really looking foward to on gamecube is smash bros. melee and resident evil 4. my friend told me x-box is good, but i am not sure. i have never played it, but i wasn't too excited when i heard it was coming out. my mom said she would buy it for my b-day, but i have to do research to see if i want it. for me, the best right now is ps2. i would buy ps2 just formgs2 alone. but they have so many good games. |
I wish my parents would get me two gaming systems within a month (my birthday is Jan. 26, right on an exam day)...
Okay, here's you're unbiased research right here, j dog014. The X-Box does have the most powerful processors for recent video game systems (above 700 mhz), compared to the GameCube's 490 mhz and the PS2's 200-some mhz. The games don't show it, though... when it tries to use that potential it slows down like crazy, just like a computer with all its system resources being used! Look at Halo. It can't run that at the standard 60 frames per second. I have seen several games for the X-Box, and I can easily say that the PS2 and the GameCube can match the graphics shown for its games rather easily. Now for my opinion: you should ask for a GameCube instead. It costs less (赨 vs. 跌) and will have most of the third-party games that the other systems will have. In addition, Super Smash Bros. Melee will be on it, and isn't that reason enough? Well, there you have it. Hope that helps. |
it helps a lot. thanks!!!!!! i was thinking of asking her for a gamecube because that is 100 x-tra dollars i will have for accesseries. i would buy the gamecube just for resident evil 4. smash bros. melee is a great bonus, though. but i still kind of want the x-box for oddworld, munch's oddysey. i think i might get a job so i can buy the gamecube. or i could ask my mom's boyfriend for the x-box. anyway, thanks for all your help dan habiki!!!!!! :)

Ps2 has a massive line-up of games, but the games are similar to the ones for the original Ps. Sony was promising gamers world wide that Ps2 was going to be *cough* revolutionary.
|
GameCube is revolutionary for Nintendo systems. They actually have third party games now! If that's not an improvement, I don't know what is.
|
Okay now for something to be revolutionary it takes time man.

Havoc: Lets see I think ps2 is the best even though it is slower

Consult www.gamefaqs.com for that information.
|
Now this makes me mad. WHY in the world hasn't anyone nominated the Game Boy Advance?! Honestly, if you like video games, you need one of these. It's almost like having a Super Nintendo in handheld form, but better! Plus, there's a game for just about everyone for it: RPGs, strategy games, action games ranging from platformers to FPSs, Super Street Fighter II Turbo Revival, and many more! Trust me, for ๪, it's definately a deal.
|
Why would you want a Super Nintendo in your hands when you can have a PS2 at home or a Neo Geo which is better??
|
IN YOUR HANDS AND IN UR FACE!! DUH! lol u can take it anywhere to play, when u go somewhere or dont have a spare tv... and its gonna have sfa 3 :)
|
WOW!!! SFA3, wait Neo Geo has praticly every fighting game. They have CvsSNK already you know.
|
thanx to all you people who spent time listing this stuff, cause i refuse to buy those game-pro magazines and others like them jus to find out what system is good, and i could also go to on the net and look, but why waste my time...so far the PS2 is my fav...its backwards compatible, has a dvd drive and its controllers arent as big as cinder blocks (good job sony, stickin with what works) but the X-Box has a few good titles, Halo, Project Gotham Racin...but thats it, so like i said before thank...
|
hahaha.. slipknot.. nice.. I love that line
|
here is my opinion of all the systems
Gamecube: I went over my cousins house and he had all the systems (just like in nosouls situation except it was his friends) I decided to play rogue leader on Gamecube since my cousin let me. The Graphics were alright to me and the control looked awkward but i got used to playing it. All in all its a pretty nice game and i wouldn't mind getting a Gamecube for it. (but i got a PS2 last year)I would also not get it since it is still going in the little kids direction (I need some T and M rated games MAN!) example still is showing Mario games (Lugui's Mansion and the upcoming Mario Sunshine) That stupid looking pikimin game, Super smah bros. Melee and so on. X-Box: Hmmmm.........what can you say that isnt good about this system except for the wanna-be dreamcast ,hard to use, stupid looking, iretating, upseting controller. The Graphics are to die for and it is a great looking system. There is a memory card already installed inside the machine and the console kinda looks like a VCR. The first game i played on there was NFL fever and let me tell you its hard to learn and hard to master because of that friggen controller. I got my butt kicked because of that. Madden on PS2 seemed way easier to control then that but the graphics that NFL fever has to offer rivals Madden. I also played Obi-Wann. At first i didnt know what to do but when i finally got to it i got the hang of it. Over all this system rocks ( except for the controller) PS2: Now i finally get to the system i have the PS2. This system is tight (nice) as well. I cant really describe it since i have it so i will tell you all the games i got on it READY! SET! GO! Top 5 best games i have gotten this season Metal Gear Solid 2 : sons of liberty Final Fanatsy 10 Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 Max Payne Jak and Dexter Oh and i want to know if X-box is coming out with a RPG game soon. They are my favorite types of games. |
Let the brutal attack of steventhebol's post commence.
The Nintendo GameCube is not a kiddie system. It irritates me so much, having people type/say that. There are Teen and Mature rated games that will be released for it; Nintendo made it a point to mention that. Also, Pikmin isn't stupid looking. It was made by Miyamoto (creator of Mario and Zelda), and that's good enough for me. By the way, Super Smash Bros. Melee is rated Teen. You are focusing too much on what Nintendo themselves are releasing for it, and not paying attention to the third-party game makers that have plans for this system. The X-Box... an enigma that anybody would like it. The GameCube can do anything that the X-Box can currently, and do it better, too. X-Box has no good, well-made games (no, Halo runs at 30fps, and slows down like ####). There are no redeeming qualities for the X-Box, period. |
I'll second that brutal attack!!
I'm going to puke if I see one more person tell me the cube is a kiddie system.. is that like some kind of disease or something? cause it spreads like wildfire. One person mentions it so I guess it MUST be true. Didn't know ignorance could be passed along like that. |
I am a well educated gamer and I am not a "Band Wagon" guy as many gamers tend to be, if a system is garbage it's garbage because of the quality of it's games not because you don't like that company wether it be Nintendo, Sony or Micro$oft(that dollar sign was intentional). Right now I believe that each system has a good chance of taking the lead. It all depends on the company's marketing strategy and third party vendors that sign up. Right now Sony has the obvious lead with companies like SquareSoft being their personal ho. But wait a couple of months to see if Nintendo gets their high priced ho back and the others which failed to make a real impact on the 64(like Capcom, Konami, etc.). Until then READ the facts from sites like IGN.com and don't make uninformed decisions or say a system is whack until it has shown it's true potential. Yo if you ever come to New York just ask Bill Clinton where to find the best underground strip joint in town. But watch your pockets those broke hoes can be fiends.
|
alright stop the brutal attacks dan and Zing79 I was just playing. You know i like to joke around. But to get to the point Gamecube does have some of (i wont call it KITTY OK) E rate (everyone) and some T (Teen) and ahhh some M ( Mature) games. There satisfied *lol*
|
That's better. They actually have a rating for little kids games, anyways.
|
Ok ok so game cube is kinda a kid system but lets us not look past the game Super Smash Brother Melee.... I can play that game for hours.
An X-box does suck the only good game is Dead or Alive 3 which i beat in a day... As for Cd and Dvds a i have both already why would i want both.. Not to mention that X-boxs cd player has an error on it. PS2 is a system worth looking into as a mater of fact im going to get one today and (don't know if you have heard of this game) im gonna buy zone of enders its a fun little game that i think was over looked....Of corse grand theift auto is a great buy but you best do it quick before the Narcs take all the fun outa it! :( |
I played ZOE (zone of the enders) before smilie and its really impressive and great oh and also all DOA's (dead or alive) are short. That game is basically a dress the player up game even though its tight.
