out of the top 10 players, most use Wolverine ...

i can see if Cyclops was dominating the scores, or, even the Sentinel (who will be tweaked very very soon)... but ... Logan ?? he hasn't been changed in months !!

Perhaps that is the reason. While you were making everyone else more "fair", Logan stayed the same. So who knows what he could've carried with him the whole time he was left alone... (reminds me of how I feel...) but it also could be that some really great people who could get high ranks (You know who you are ;) ) aren't really trying. It really depends... on the players, and their feelings.

i dont think ryu players can last that long in tag matches.............
they wont use chun li...
they wont use sentinal...
they could use cyclops...
but wolvie is a vet in the game...
he use to not be used because he caused lag
now it dont even matter cuz it always lags...

Ryu has ruled for far too long.
Odds are, people are just now discovering how good wolverine can be when used properly. And that ya dont have to hide behind fire balls and projectile attacks to win.

I wouldnt go messin' with wolverines moves just yet though.(if you planned on 'tweaking' him)It's probably just a trend.

The top 20 are probably just ending their gaming day by playing one final match with wolverine, against someone they know they can beat in battle (I/E NOOB). Just so they can have the wolverine image next to their name on the scoreboards.

Or it's like what was said earlier....the other characters have been "toned down" and wolverine hasnt...And wolverine HAS become the heavy hitter in the game.

In any case...let ol' wolvy rule supreme for a while...it time for his day in the sun.....he is almost a year old now.

I really can't say why this is happening.. I've never became a "great" wolverine player (ever) and probably won't just because it's impossible to get close to a Ryu fighter that just throughs Hadokens and super jumps EVERY time you get close to them.

The only thing I can say here is I have yet to be beaten 1 on 1 by a wolverine vs. Ryu fight since TOC III.

Wolverine cant get damage when blocking any special attack,and he can regenerate.Wolvie Barserker Barrage take 50% on ur life points

most of the ppl in the top ten r just n00bs...they only use wolvie because they variable with him...take out all of ur life with him...ppl only use him because of his bbx... :) :(

:dozingoff: wolverine is problably used now alot because he has a couple of chessy moves that can nock an oponent of their feet like strong punch and his slide.

also his attacks do alot of damage :happy:

for the record: I have been a wolverine user since the day i joined (mainly b/c Zangief isn't in yet, but also b/c it was considered embarassing to lose to wolverine back in the day). He had a bad name back then, because of his drill claw (which every n00b seemed to love....). But, I still had the same strategy and everything, and I won plenty of times. I think that it isn't wolverine who has made a comeback, but that everyone else has just realized that it's possible that ryu isn't the best because "he shoots those fireball things". And lets face it, if Ken or Akuma is put in next, which is almost a given, then wolverine will still be the most used. He'll only fall when ppl start realizing how good Cyclops is, then he'll get used. And then probably ppl will go back to Chun, and so on. Ppl will use other fighters when they get bored. How else did you think I started using Zangief? It was just when I was bored of throwing stuff across the screen and getting easy wins with the same run-of-the-mill moves. So, until the next character rave, here's to wolvie and his current success.

I've strated using him lately and I haven't lose with him yet.........odd..

SBYRD5: Try fighting a good Sentinel or Cyclops player.

well.. few tweaks for Scott (bugs fixing and/or less cheap) and Sentinel (more cheap and/or faster ??) over the next few weeks/months.. but... thats about it :biggrin:

Don't get used to wolvie taking over, because IF Akuma gets voted for this months new char, then ALOT of peeps are gonna uses him, because there alot of players that love akuma.

UrbanNinja: You don't have to worry about Wolverine taking over because Ken or Akuma have about a 99% chance of winning the vote. Even if they don't, we've still got PLENTY of projectile characters to keep him at bay (all existing characters besides Logan).

Most n00bs are attracted to wolverine (I was) and they pick him and use him.

I was also attracted to wolverine but now know that most the skilled fighters use ryu or chunli....my fav. the reason n00bs use wolverine is b/c they only play tag and then do the variable and automatically kills u. :eh:

Me and cyan made wolvie top tier in november, but everyone started to abuse drill claw too much, now he's bottom tier...

Wolverine vs. Sentinel = too many slide claws.. :biggrin:

i don't believe i just heard that...low punch all the time...hadoken all the time...dragon punch all the time...etc...u can be cheap with ryu in many ways.. :p

i've always like wolverine, right from the start. he got the good moves i can use easily.

i was attracted to wolverine when i 1st came.but now...CHUN-LI!!!

Well, if an non experianced player choose wolvie......he's bound to get his ass kicked by ryu or any other character !

but say he good......i mean really good....there are chances of the game getting tougher on every hit !!!
soemtimes he may (can) be victorius....but still in my opinion ryu is AWESOME......

sometimes i hate logan, but i hate cyclops the most :plain: the only reason why they use wolverine is to get to top 10

What about chun li i've gotten to rank 1 with her (but i had logan as her partner) ive been playin a long time havent got anywere with ryu or wolvie but chun li helped to the top Chun li is the best.

wolvrine is taking over because he is much more pwerfull than any other character thats it no other reason i would like to see someone try an survive a variable attack with two logan's doing berserker baragge's. I dont know about you guys but i sure as hell dont like working my ass off for two minutes only to lose to a simple special! It really sucks dont get me wrong he still stands no chance one on one against a good ryu player but in a tag the game could be over in one move and that does not appeal to me at all as well as others that i have talked to. I mean I understand you want new ppl here but at the cost of your vets? Anywayz im not retiring any time soon and my ryu can overcome most situations so for now I put up with all the lag and freezes and default handicapps that some characters seem to have and hope that another shokotan brother will be unleashed to avenge all RYU VETS!!!
