ok, im not here to bitch nor ruin your enthusiasm about tidus' post
i just want to clear some things bcoz im a little confused plus i want to express some points/opinions...

first, tidus is just a member like me, how come he made an official topic? i thought official topics are for the mods and tmyapp to make?

second, whats this nominating the top 5 players, whats the purpose of this? do they get a special award or recognitions?

third, i have nothing against with this topic or the ppl voted/nominated in it but dont you think its kinda unfair they get all the [i:post_uid8]praises and glory[/i:post_uid8] bcoz either theyre really good players or just simply got fast computers thats why they always win...?

i mean, what about the [i:post_uid8]unsung heroes[/i:post_uid8] who made significant existence in this community? dont they get recognized?

Pfft I was waiting for a comment like this one. First of you don't have to be a mod to make an official topic, all you have to do is run it through the mods and administrators to make it official. And yes their is a purpose for it and you're just doing what I was hoping no one would. Currently 3 of the mods know of my plan and the project. If you're here for another month you might see what I got up my sleeve. Now if you have any questions fire away.

He made the topic. Then a mod made it a sticky. It has been done many times before. Why is it official? That is not our business right now.

We have not yet been told the purpose. Tidus has said he will tell us when the time is right.

The ppl on those lists deserve those praises and glory. They worked their asses off for it. You think we only win b/c we have fast computers? 56k isn't fast, and Dark-Links usually has ownage over many players

First off, you don't even know what this voting thing is about. So you can't say, "hey, why not this?" At least find out what its all about, then bitch :biggrin:

As I said above, there may not be a point for any of those in Tidus's project.

If your jealous you didn't get a vote it's because you haven't been here for a year. Your trying to get info on my project and sadly your not gonna get anything. bloodpack: Here's the answers to your questions...

first, Tidus' topic is NOT an official xvssf topic. It's the same as viper2040's topics about "idea for ending game budget problems" or "want to donate but can't use paypal" topics... they're not official because they wern't started by mods/admins. You're right, the only true "official" topics can be started by TMyApp and mods. Upon special request of a mod/admin, other topics can be assumed to be "official" (ex: If I for some reason asked Tidus2k2 to make that topic, it'd be official). What I believe Tidus was implying was that it's the "official vote topic" for great players (since it's been done to death, and this is ONLY for his special "project").

second, You'll find out in due time what they "get".

third, no actually. Getting praise and glory because you're a great player (and occasionally because you combine a pretty good fighter with a great connection) means that you've worked your ass off for it. Try looking through the archived topscores one day... you'll notice that TarkanX and Nferno666 each have OVER 5000 wins, with almost a 1:20 win/loss ratio. That kind of excellence deserves to be acknowledged in some place other then just a topscores (thus, Tidus' "project" that you'll find out more about as time progresses).

I'm still not sure why he chose to get votes... I would of just looked at the past top scores and checked to see who had 1000+ wins then investigated further on their histories to make sure they wern't infamous for #### killing (like McBeth/Omnislasher).

Anyways, do I make myself clear here? His topic stays pinned... and your post was edited because I don't want ##### posting their "top lists" here.

tsk tsk tsk u guys have no respect to this guy... bloodpack just says top 5 list is a dumb idea.. unless u have something planned. His idea would be more accurate... (ex. basketball: most rebounds, most shot percentage, most attempt, etc.) he was trying to help the people and he has nothing to be jealous about :hmmm: anyway .. continue :D

i agree a little on what bloodpack said...

its true that thos efighters busted their asses to get that kind of glory...
but people like me that fights only once in a week and sometimes only 1 in two weeks... will never get those glory rewards... that's what he meant. myself will never be seen on those lists. why because i will never fight those who actually talk in here. why, because i'm playing around 2 AM the morning !

a good example of what bloodpack mean...

but by top 5 players...
you actually ask that only those who play about 40 times in a week have a chance to get nominated. you could at least got that to 10, it would have been a little more accurate.

but like i said...
its not gonna be taken as a BLAME or saying your wrong... you have the same right to dot hat as bloodpack as to say his opinion !

you know... i wonder if would be in any of the sus mentionned category ?

the modem, the computer doesn't make the winner...
i had an OLD AMD K6/2 500mhz with a connection under 33,6k and i still got a lot of wins !
its tru that i have a better computer now, but i still have the connection i had. still, i have about the same WIN/LOSS ratio i had.

you're actually simply giving you a reason to lose to someone and that kind of thought will eventually lead to a nobish flaming thread about how some person beated you just because they had better computers, which is definitely not the case.

example of that... (its actually true)
i had less lag then someone who was cable at some point in the game.
i have to make you remember that i have a damn 33,6k modem !
which is 2x lesser then a 56k
which suppose to mean a lot more lag.

conclusion: the internet make the lag, you make the skill, the computer has about only 15% anything to do with the way you play.

must i remember you that if your the type that use HELPERS only to defend against SUPERS, then you deserves to lose ! that's how i was playing until i saw people use them as ATTACKERS ! then and only then was i able to get my WIN/LOST ratio up a notch !
