I never got to play Street fighter one, but i did get to play street fighter 2: the world warriors.
My friend got the game street fighter 2: the world warriors for super nintendo(obviously) I yelled pop it in pop it in. we popped the game in, and the screen said .licensed by nintendo, then you would hear the sound of capcom. street fighter 2 the world warrior.... that was the title name. we did a vs. battle. I was Ryu, and he was Ken. thats when i first chose my first, and became my favorite character. We didnt know how to play at firt, basically it was jump kick, round house, jump kick round house. but then we learened the aadvanced moves like the hadoken!, shoryuken, spin kick(dont know the full name of it) after a while later, we played game start. I picked Ryu and off we went to countries to fight opponents. soon after we got to Balrog, a punching fiend, he was one of the easiest opponents in the game, but once your in the corner against him, and he does his insane rage, youve got a few seconds to survive that fight. we got to Vega, a guy that sounded like a woman, i thought he was female at first(for some strange reason) he was very hard, and that #### cage climbing made me stressed against him. but we beat him. then it was this huge tall guy named sagat, piece of cake....? that is if your a very advanced player of the game, which I am now. the battle would start like this: hado tiger hado tiger hado tiger hado tiger hado tiger hado tiger hado tiger hado tiger :stop: tiger tiger tiger tiger then he will come close you you, and do a..... TIGER UPPERCUT!!! a ripoff copy of the shoryuken, but it doesnt have the invincibility powers of the shoruyuken(the shoryuken can go trhough fireballs). Every time i jump to him, he'd do a tiger uppercut, i kept losing to him, but i eventually won. Then it was this guy with a red hat, and an ugly looking face.... it was M. Bison, was he easy.... well how about this. you begin to fight him, and 20 seconds later your already at 2 seconds left if you dont press start till you game over. Many cheap fights with him, I won... FINALLY!!!!! I beat it, sadly the difficulty level was only at THREE!!!. seven was the highest(which is a breeze for me now). Me and my friend would usually go to the local arcade/laundramat to play street fighter 2: champion edition. if we ran out of quarters, we'd usually look on the ground everywhere for quarters. once we found to quarters, we pop it in the machine and start playing. the bosses from the world warriors were now chooseable. good thing, since sagat was great for both ariel and ground attacks. sometimes people would usually come to the arcade machine and we would barely win, but put me on the stick with Ryu, or Guile, and I gaurantee you that I will finish the game unchallenged. In about late 1993 I went to Africa to do a one year research project about the whole place. The place was great, not inclusing the fact my super nintendo was stolen, with 3 games i had(including street fighter 2: the world warriors). When I arrived back in America at around January 2nd 1995.... there had been so many things going on when i left. 1994 was the year of the century(in america). they showed so many movies like the ever so un-popular street fighter( sneeze). so many games were released in that year, sometimes I wish i didnt leave. But in late 1995, I bought a new super nintendo, and super street fighter 2: the new challengers. it was better graphical than the world warriors, but it wasnt revolutionizing. though 16 characters were pretty good to select from than a poor 8 characters(reverting back to the world warriors). me and my friend played super street fighter 2 one day, and I was ryu, and he was fei long, i kept beating the sh*t out of him, then he took the controller, threw it at the game, and *pkkkt* the game broke. i was hoping it had made a tiny dent, but noooo!!! the thing broke in half. that was the last copy i could ever find. I wouldnt play street fighter again until 1998. I played marvel vs. capcom, and xmen vs street fighter, but i didnt want any vs. street fighter games, i wanted street figter itself. i played street fighter 3 the next generation on the arcades. and i have to say the game sucked!!! Capcom has lost its spirit In making street fighter games. And i didnt play street fighter again till early august 2000. my other friend bought street fighter alpha 3. I was kicking ass on that game, i was reined the best at that game. only in the house  but then the next day, he sold the title for cheap ass Tekken 2....!!!!!!!!!!!!! now why would someone do that, Tekken sucks!!!!!!! sorry Tekken fans but it sure does really suck. just almost a year later, I found this site... what was the best thing to do to prove being the best street fighter in the whole world? Or just simply play. I rose up the ranks, and met old, and new people. i bought back street fghter 2: the world warrior for super nintendo. reliving the old memory from a decade ago was great. and i also bought street fighter alpha 3, marvel vs. capcom, and rival schools. I didnt play a lot of street fighter gamnes, but those times were very memorable. Please tell me how you thought of this. And post your own street fighter days. |
I just want to say one thing tekken does not suck have you seen tekken 4?

I can't remember when, but I started when Street Fighter came out. That game was easy! Max (I think), the boss, was a wimp when you ducked in the corner on the opposite side of the screen (he wouldn't move). I quickly got tired of that game.
Then the Street Fighter II series came out. Joy! I went crazy. In the arcades, on the SNES, I played them until my fingers couldn't take it anymore. By this time I had chosen Ken as my favorite (for this time). Then... let's just say, complications arose, and I couldn't visit the arcades or play video games for a long time. I missed SFA, SFA2, SFA3, SFEx, SFEx2, XMvSF (I found a machine in Cincinatti in 1999), MSHvSF, MvC, MvC2, and the SFIII games. It is amazing that I missed all of the good games (except maybe SFEx and Ex2, people don't like those). Now I play the games that I can, now that it is possible. I play this online game, MvC2, and MvSNK2. I discovered Dan Hibiki, master of Saikyo-Ryu. Dan is now my favorite (personality-wise), and Akuma is my favorite for fighting. |
Are you saying Sagat is a wimp?!?! sorry but he is my 4th favorite character
|
Geez, you guys know pretty much everything about SF! :o
|
If you're talking about my comment on the final boss of Street Fighter (one, the original), it isn't Sagat. His name is Max (or something similar). Sagat isn't a wimp, anyways. He is #7 on my favorites list.
1 Dan Hibiki 2 Akuma 3 Ken 4 Ryu 5 Charlie 6 Guy 7 Sagat 8 M. Bison 9 Sakura 10 Gen |
hmmm..... Max, there is no name of Max, or do you mean Mike, that boxing dude from the U.S. he shouldn be the one your talking about because he is the only one who starts with an "M"

How many SF games are there?

The first street fighter game i ever played was street fighter 2, i think. it was he one where everybody circled around these 2 ppl fightiing. it was in 1992. 10 years ago. i was in the 1st grade, and my mom moved me to new york to help my grandmom clean up. there was a pzza parlor down the street w/ the arcade game. this was new to me, b/c i live in the suburbs of georgia, there were no arcades around me at the time. i couldn't reach the controls, so they go me a stool. i didnt know how to play, but i was still winning. i wa beating everyoe i played. after i played him, he drilled me. i ws so sad :*(. after that day had hated street fighter, but i still played it at the pizza parlor. we eventually moved back to our house in ga monts later. a barber salon had opend up and they had the game :).
i got good on it, but someone didnt want me to hang around there, all day. it was.................the barber. he said i will play you one game,if you win you can come here whenever and play the game, i will provide you w/ the quarters. if i win, you can only come here to get a haircut. i said ok. i should have known it was a trick and he was really good, but i didnt, i was a kid. anyway, we played, he whooped my ass w/ a perfect, and i hated street fighter again. i played a couple of street fighter games through out the years, but i had no joy in it. i lovd to play m v.s. c. it was my favorite. anyway, my mom had got a friend who does hair. she has a son, so i got a new friend, too. we were playing a lot of sf and he kept whooping my ass. it was a year later and he let me borrow sf:double impact and capcom v.s. snk. i got good, and have been beating him ever since. when i came to this website i was sorry, very sorry, but i got better. now i am one of the greats. i just rented street fighter ex.3. i whooped all of my friends asses. p.s. it is really messed up how guile dies on that game!!!!!!!! |
I think the best SF game is 3rd Strike, because Gill is just a bastard to beat.
|
Quote:
Yeah i played the streetfighter3 series my self. |
i liked 3rd strike a lot. my friend has it. #### gill is very hard, but i did it. i like fighting w/ yin, yang, ken, and ryu
|
ah ! the old days of the first and i mean it the first real fighting game !
I never start by the first one, my entire life was spend on wanting the games and the series, but this was at first. i Started by the first sf2 game on snes (Genesis suck), it was so cool i never had tought of the snes going that far in graphics and play, then i decided to know everyone of the char in the game then the turbo version came out, it was better cause i liked the turbo option. After that i saw the Super one, it beated out all the other that has been out (all others was stupid release) i really loved that dee jay guy but my fav was thunder hawk, he was the best. then i fell in love with MK so i didnt see the evolution ! i started again with sfa1 on snes then i losed it again and didnt see the evolution till the psx one named X-Men vs street fighter then i started playing it again and again just for the thrill to kill some bastard named bison magneto and the worst of em all APOCALYPSE ! Then i found bought EX2+ and it was a real mistake, if only i new ! then i bought sfa3 (backup disk) real deal its the best of all i played except that now there are 20out a 32 char that i dont know of their history nor their skill so i must say ! The game still rock even now and it will shine upon our past like an emerald shining in the sun. at least on my memory, im 21 now and capcom is still there not rising but still in the competition. Story of SSJKarma about capcom SF games |
lol arent these stories kinda funny? :)
|
y Top l st is to 7
1# Vega and Ryu and Saget 2#cam my'm good with here and she rock's 3#ken i like is upercut 4#guy just like the way he fights 5#balrog he's hit's hard and he's fast 6##M.bison fast 7#Blanka *shock* ow thats gotta hurt |
in cap vs snk 2 (finnaly got it for PS2...ROCKS SO MUCH!) sagat is awsome. hes a combo machine, if you use him right. and his tiger shots, being that they can go ground, and air (and a super version of both, plus his two huge combo supers that dont need to be level 2) makes it great.
|
This is true, this is true...
|
Quote:
can you get them in 3 player mode? that way, i can use saga, orochi iori, and dan (his specials ARE pretty good)...or most likely, vega/bison. |
I wonder what streetfighter looks like on PS2??

Uh, Token, Ultimate Rugal and God Rugal are the same person. For the Japanese version, he is called God Rugal. For the American (PS2 only) version he is called Ultimate Rugal, because God Rugal is a little sacriligious.
Both Ultimate Rugal and Shin Akuma (your names) appear in any mode (Ratio, 3 on 3, or single match), so long as at least one of the following conditions are met: You got at least 1,600 points before that battle. You got a Finest K.O. (see below) at least once. You got first strike in all but six matches (at the least). You defeated the mini-boss that challenged you before the final match (either Vega (M. Bison for you) or Geese) (NECESSARY - MUST BE DONE IN ADDITION WITH ONE OF THE ABOVE) A Finest K.O. is achieved whenever you win by... Countering a super move with a super move Countering a super move with a special move Countering a special move with a level 3 super move There is one other condition, but I don't remember it. |
Unlike street fighter 2: the world warriors, street fighter 3 wasnt revolutionizing.
look at things that were revolutionizing, they did so good. NES: one of the very first home systems SNES/GENESIS: great killer app games playstation: first CD system Playstation 2: first DVD system Game Boy: first handheld system computers: everyone uses it now. games: ---------------- Super Mario Bros.: first side scroller(and most sold game ever) final fantasy: first RPG pacman: one of first arcade games street fighter 2: revolutioized fighting(fireballs, more than 2 chooseable characters, projectiles, special moves)..... etc.... |
I suppose you never owned Gekiretsuden (?) Special (a.k.a. Fatal Fury Special) for the NES. I don't own it anymore, but GS had at least 30 fighters (some looked the same, but had different moves). All of the famous SNK fighters (seriously, there aren't that many of those) are in it: Terry, Kim, Ryo, Mai, and a whole lot more.
In GS, each character had a strong and a weak attack button. In addition, there was at least two special moves to each fighter (I just couldn't figure out all the movements). |
i first learned of streetfighter like bout 8, this street fighter ultimate thingy or watever, then i went to this place were u rent playstations for 1 an hour. i played this street fighter game and it sucked a very big green cock. ryu couldnt do a hadoken or any supers.
|
Dan is right Snk did came first but no one had that game in US i guess... o wait! theres an arcade version of street fighter i think no one had seen here, ryu had this circular red fireball and it was b4 street fighter for consoles.. LoL..
