 How sad.. It wasn't really meant to be their year but they'll be back

Tidus2K2 05-15-2003 10:20 PM

Pfft i'm still a proud fan. They lost but they proved to everyone they worked for all three titles. They started the season out bad and ended with one of the best records from the teams who made it to the post season.

I'm a little disappointed by the margin they lost by i mean it's just not right to go out like that. But still they did well this season but they will take it next year.

I wasn't really expecting them to get very far either with they way duncan is playing and the spurs I thought it would end at 4-0 but it didn't. Oh well now it's all up to the mavs to get a championship they really deserve it.

DX Zero 05-16-2003 12:13 AM

no doubt the spurs are a great team, they deserve the win.. and Lakers played great, they pushed themselves to the limit, unfortunately they ran out of gas

ApOcAlYp$e 05-16-2003 04:20 AM

Yes they lost!!!..half of the team was crying and.KobeB ha! i hate that man,i started to laugh when he started to cry.

MasterX05 05-16-2003 12:37 PM

i wanted them to lose, not to cry. it was kinda sad but i want someone else to win this year..maybe the Mavs or the Nets even the Spurs.

TarkanX 05-16-2003 03:20 PM

The spurs deserved it, Duncan deserves MVP, and Popovich deserves coach of the year. They were the only team in my mind that could beat the Lakers. I have a feeling that they'll go all the way, now that Webber is out, the Kings are no longer a threat they once were. Go Spurs, you deserved it.

tupac2westsider 05-16-2003 05:53 PM

Everyone that said....."Lakers suck", "Yes, they lost", "They deserved to lose"

blossom 05-16-2003 06:07 PM

okay mister westsider, i am no hater. Everyone is intitled to thier own opinion and i dont think the lakers even deserved to be in the playoffs much less win the championships.. I do know what it feels like to lose things (talent shows, cheerleading compititions, etc) and it doesnt feel good at all. But to me i think that the Spurs deserve it waaaaaaaay more, how can you expect a TEAM to win if they only have one or two guys who can score *coughs* AI *coughs* it aint gonna happen very often... so i think the team that shows the most teamwork should win like ummmm The Nets or The Kings cause even without thier lead scorer Chris Weber, they still play with skill....remember when Shaq was out with a bad toe or something? what was the lakers record then?? Nuff said.

TarkanX 05-16-2003 06:34 PM

Lakers didn't deserve it, dubya tee eff is that supposed to mean? If they didnt deserve it, they wouldn't even be in the playoffs. Why do you hate the Lakers, just because they won the championship 3 times, and your tired of it? The I guess basketball is not your sport. What about Jordans Bulls? They won championships 3 straight in 91-93, and 96-98, everyone wanted more, why do you diss the Lakers?

Shaq and Kobe are one of the most dominant duos in the League, the only thing that gets in their way is tough defense, which the spurs put on hardcore.

Kings are obviously going to lose, without Webber, they can't get far, like Magic Johnson said, For Bibby to wreck havoc, he needs Webber to guard players(pick and role), but now that webbers gone, Bibby will only be seeing at least 10 points in each game, Sacramento is done, they lost their chance once again, extending their playoff loser streak since 1996.

My prediction is that Detroit will go out of the Eastern conference, and lose to the Spurs. Detroits defense is too much for Iverson, he went 5-25 in game 5, onyl scoring 14 points. Ben Wallace owns him.

When Shaq was out with a bad toe, the Lakers were... 11-19 I believe.

The Spurs deserve it, and its on a good note, since this is the Admirals final season.

Yes, like TarkanX Said...........Hater

If your not a Hater..........Then why are you hating?

You say they didnt deserve it? Thats just plain stupid, if they didnt deserve it then they wouldnt of won 3 championships in a row......Thats the team that deserves it, a team that works hard. Lakers worked hard, tho they didnt really want it as much as Spurs want it right now.

Spurs can go all the way......

Blossom: i dont know what sport your watching, but in basketball......when you work hard, it pays off. You deserve it if you win it....... Lakers won and went through the best to get 3 in a row, so they deserve it. Spurs beat lakers this season so they deserve to advance the series.

I hate to say it Blossom but.......Stick to Cheerleading

I accept the Lakers Defet, We will get them next year :)

DanYankees 05-17-2003 09:14 AM

New Jersey Nets!

Although the only reason I'm rooting for them is because I live in New Jersey, Kidd really carries that team well. Nets all the way.

Tark--start watching baseball now

like i said im not a "hater" or w/e i never said that i was tired of them winning cause i never cared to begin with, im just saying that the Lakers as a team need work. Shaq and Kobe i think are two of the most dominent players to ever join the NBA but why can t anyone understand that to win it takes a team effort? Last year Shaq and Kobe didint do it alone you know... a certain Rober Horry was a HUUUUUUUUGE roll player in all of thier champion ship games, and the fact that they won against the Spurs without Phil Jackson present was amazing.... and Jordan Bulls ? nope imagine if there was no Denise Rodman no Longly no Pippin no Kurr then what? Jordan was an out standing player but without the consistance of his teamates that team wouldnt have been "AS" good.... for example Jordan was amazing in Washington but his teammates Nope....another championship Nope....
Lable me a hater if you want blah blah blah stick to cheerleading (sure) but im POSITIVE Phil Jackson is thinking the same way, expect lottsa new changes to the roster Next season.
:hmmm:

Ha ha....well when you love something and lose doing it....you would also cry...I guess...*snecrkers*

TarkanX 05-17-2003 01:25 PM

Without Longley, the Bulls would be no different, Kerr was like Paxson, which who was like a lesser version of Fischer, they can shoot the 3's, but most of the time, they're just wadling somewhere. Though I agree Jordan wouldn't have won without Rodman, and MAYBE Pippen, what about in 1991, they beat the Lakers 4-1, they had no Rodman, Pippen was just a guy who helped Jordan, though he didn't need it.

The reason why Jordan sucks now is because he's not at his prime anymore. He was away from the game for 3 YEARS, thats more than enough to take a toll on your skills, look at me now. Jordan at his prime can carry(and did) a sorry ass team and turn them into tanks, he wouldn't done that with the Wizards if he didn't retire. That's something Kibe can't do, but Kobe is still learning, he's still young(turning 25).

I expect the Lakers to get a better power forward, since Horry doesn't play that position well. Karl Malone is a most likely. There are even rumors that Horry might move back to Houston, I wouldn't be surprised. And Shaq doesn't seem like Shaq, he doesn't seem to have interet in the game anymore, he got out played by a smaller Duncan. Rick Fox doesn't seem to be doing anything.... they really needed him in the series, but it wouldnt of helped much. Fischer might get traded, Shaw might retire... etc...

Ludacris 05-17-2003 06:31 PM

Lakers......... well, it's sad that Lakers lost.......... they're not my favorite team but I admit they got skill..........the only problem is that they need other good players to support them when either Shaq or Kobe is on the bench......... ok I know they got good players but this year, they weren't stepping out like they should have stepped out.......... Horry wasn't helpin much, nor Fox and Fisher........ so I think they should get a bunch of players trade......... a point guard with experience.........and a player that can shoot three point shots......... if they want to be on top again, they need other players to really step up beside O'neal and Bryant
