Great! We all here? Good, this is how it works:

1. Rules change all the time. Same with format and how it's done.

Easy right? I might ask a series of questions, I might ask 1 question, who knows? I will post different things up, and you just answer the question while following the guidelines. I will tally points and such etc...and you might even win your own *game character! When I post a question, I'll post the guidlines/rules for that questions as well. So it's always wise to come back to this topic often and see what is going on....

When someone gets a question right, they are added to the tally sheet, so only by getting at least 1 question right can you be added to the game. I will also close the thread inbetween sessions so I don't get extra "reply spam" (Any anything off topic will be deleted on site, if I have to do this at least 3 times, you win a Forum Warning!) Good luck!

ALSO! When answering, just answer the question as best you can, but don't throw in un-needed extra information, it might ruin any ideas I might have for a future question. Thanks!

NEW RULE - You get one chance to post. If I see anyone edit their post, they get disqualifed for that current question. Either take the gamble and post now and hope it's right, or research for the answer to make sure it's right but risk someone else giving the answer. Edit your answer...and I will edit your post to take out any answer and you have to wait for the next question to play.

Original Announcment

*By winning your own game character, this refers to THIS trivia game, and only in this thread may you get a special sprite/graphic/title to be given out by Warmor only, and not TMyApp's Street Fighter Online game.

This is the Dreamcast Controller. It spawned from another idea.
Question:
What inspired this controller design?

Rules:
First to answer correctly. 2 part question. I want a description and a picture (You don't need to post the picture, just a link would be fine).

Depending on if it's answerd or not, I will supply a hint and/or be able to create another question out of it.

TJ5 02-25-2005 06:01 PM

I believe the Nintendo 64 Inspired its design, it has a memory card attachment in the back like the N64 and it has the buttons arranged in the formation of the C buttons, but the joystick was moved to the left, I really think i'm wrong but I will give it a shot due to its small resemblance to it. It's joystick resembles the gamecube controllers joystick slightly but the gamecube was made after it.... I believe it came from nintendo's controller designs.... I'm stumped

Edited By TJ5 on 1109383456

Angel-Eyes 02-25-2005 06:27 PM

it was inspired by the sega saturn's 3D control pad that was for optional extra purchase

http://www.vidgame.net/SEGA/Sega/Saturn/saturn_3d.jpg
http://www.vidgame.net/SEGA/Sega/Sat...urn_3dback.jpg

the simelarities are the same roundish shape, the slot on the back, the start button on the bottom middle of the controller, dual triggers on the back, and the joystick on the left with the d-pad located underneath.

all these simelarities make them almost identical, except for the right hand button layout

Question:
What is the proper, full name of the game from the above screenshot?

Rules:
Must get full name. Only giving partial name gives partial points. Naming the system with it will give you minor bonus points.

Next Question:

Question:
Just how many Final Fantasy game are there?

Rules:
Here's the catch, this one is worth 2 points, but you need to list the game name and system, and this refers to the games released in the United States ONLY, any game with Final Fantasy in the title.

This list just wasn't..."right". Like things were double posted, and you posted games that were not released in the US!

~Mastermax~ 03-01-2005 12:59 PM

well first i put all i knew of, then i added some repeat ports my cousin has (some of which are imports) and then i opened my closet and looked at my old gameboy games to see if i missed much, and i found my final fantasy legend games and final fantasy adventure, it took me about half an hour to write that up so i might has added more than i remember...

Warmor 03-01-2005 01:12 PM

It's fine, you still get points right?! Plenty more to come! I will post the next question in a bit, need to research and right now work is a bit demanding...but I will get it! Also, if you still have the Box/Instructions for Final Fantasy Adventures, I'm willing to buy it if your selling...?

Errr...ANYWAY....

Question:

Ok, just so you know... that list of yours isn't true my friend !
why i know, the list i have shown isn't just US, its all the actual games there was... all the others were expected but in the end never came out !

tell me one thing... why would NINTENDO who created the console wouldn't put all their games in a list ?
anyway...

Ahhh...good question! Why would nintendo not put all there games on their own website?! Well, that's actually pretty simple, but often overlooked!

Let us see, you went to this site:
http://www.nintendo.com
To get your results. But that is a US domain, for Nintendo North America.

If you go to this Nintendo website at this link:
http://www.nintendo.co.jp/
You will go to the Offical Nintendo website of Japan...and if you can somehow navigate through the site, find the other Virtual Boy games released only in Japan.

I hope that helps!

Next question my sir! This one might make you actually play a game....

Question:
In the first Super Mario Brothers for the NES, when you reached the first Bowser on world 1-4, you could tell he was a fake if you killed him a special way. What enemy was the first imposter?

Rules:
First you have to find out how to kill Bowser so the imposter shows, then you have to actually kill him, 1 point on the line here.

Edited By Warmor on 1109969191

MasterX05 03-03-2005 05:04 PM

Its King Koopa not bowser he was the first imposter and u could just jump over him and touch the axe to drawback the bridge for him to fall. Or if youhave the fire flower shoot him 5 times.

Warmor 03-03-2005 05:56 PM

[quote:post_uid0="MasterX05"]Its King Koopa not bowser he was the first imposter and u could just jump over him and touch the axe to drawback the bridge for him to fall. Or if youhave the fire flower shoot him 5 times.[/quote]
Bowser is the King of the Koopa's! But you haven't named what common enemy was the imposter....

~Mastermax~ 03-04-2005 11:27 AM

it was goomba strangely enough, if you got to him with a fire flower and killed him it would reveal he was a goomba, the normal way to kill him is to jump over the platform use the axe to win...

Thats right, the first Bowser was really a Goomba in a Bowser costume...you didn't really think that you killed Bowser 8 times in the game did you?

I really like Square-Enix...and I even liked them when they were just Square...let me ask a few more questions about them, for 1 point of course.

Question:
What is the name of the first game released by Square?

Rules:
Give me the name of the game for 1 point. Include the year it was released for +.2 and the system it was for and get an additional +.2. You can get 1.4 points for the whole question.

~Mastermax~ 03-04-2005 02:04 PM

3d world runner i think, i remember playing that as a kid and remembering hey this is the game was made by the same people who made final fantasy, it was squaresoft back then i think, and i tried to confirm it with the internet, but i couldn't but i did find the year, it was '87 on the nes, oh and p(a)wn'd :colgate:

also it was made by square but acclaim published it...

Oh! Your correct in your info...but that answer is incorrect! The game I'm looking for actually has Square's name at the start of it, and was just a Square project.

**HINT**
It was also fantasy based, just like their flagship titles. It was the game they released right before Final Fantasy.

I'm proud of you! Give us a link to where you got your info! Next part is in relation to this...so depending on your source...you could get this easy.

Question:
After King's Knight, we see Final Fantasy. Why exactly did they come out with Final Fantasy, and what does the name mean?

Rules:
Needs to answer both parts to get a point here. Any answers with only part or half will be deleted as soon as I catch them.

~Mastermax~ 03-04-2005 06:25 PM

oh oh i know, square was on the verge of bankrupt, because king's knight didn't do so hot, and they didn't think f would do very well, and it was going to be the creator's final game so they named it final fantasy!

edit: everybody knows that!

Edited By ~Mastermax~ on 1109989676

Angel-Eyes 03-04-2005 06:33 PM

part one: they made it because they wanted to revolutionize the genre?

part two:
Quote:

All of Square's resources, dreams, and hopes were placed on this single game. If it failed, Square would be no more. The project, as Square's final gasp, was given the name "Final Fantasy."

Wow...~Mastermax~ comes in with the right answer...but kester- takes it even further with the quote. I think it's time to use my powers to bend the rules a bit....

~Mastermax~ got both parts rights, he gets the point, but kester- brings us those beautiful last words...so even though he got part 1 wrong, he excelled at part 2, so he will get .5 points. Don't expect this to happen often!

This next one is easy, a GIVE ME question...maybe someone new can get it? I'll even be generous on the points....

Question:
What is R.O.B. stand for? And what 2 games came with it?

Rules:
1 point for the name.
1 point for one game.
1 point for the other game.

Edited By Warmor on 1110314330

R.O.B. was on star fox 64 and is apparentely on on assualt (haven't gotten it yet) he might have been on the original one for snes but i don't remember back that far...

edit:he's also the the little robot controller thingy that i couldn't get to work for me nes, they used it name on start fox because rob is a robot, i think it standed for robotic operating buddy, i almost forgot about it :D, it was for the game gyromatic...

lol i have edited like three times because the memories of having a nonworking game when i was 8 are coming back in peices

edit, again: i comfirmed myself, and also found out there was two games, not only gyromite but stack-up
