for the past few days in this forum there has been this sort of 'war' between rap lovers and rap haterz...im here to just tell the story of the best rapper of ALL time 2pac
Tupac Amaru Shakur, 16 June 1971, Brooklyn, New York City, New York, USA, d. 13 September 1996, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. The controversy-laced gangsta rapper "2Pac" was the son of two Black Panther members, and his mother was actually pregnant with her son while being held in a New York prison. As a teenager Shakur studied at the Baltimore School Of Arts, before he moved to Marin City, California with his family and began hustling on the streets. His first appearance on the hip-hop scene came with a brief spell as part of Digital Underground, but it was with his 1991 debut 2Pacalypse Now that he announced himself as one of rap's newest talents, while gaining censure from various quarters for the album's explicit lyrical content. He gained his first crossover success in July 1993 with "I Get Around". The platinum-selling album which housed it, Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z. ... offered a rare degree of insight, with glints of wisdom like "Last Wordz" - "United we stand, divided we fall, they can shoot one nigga, but they can't shoot us all". To further his views he ran the Underground Railroad network for troubled teenagers in his native Oakland, California. In 1994, Shakur collaborated with his older brother Mopreme, Syke, Macadoshis and the Rated R on the short-lived Thug Life project, releasing the morbid and violent Volume 1. By this time his acting career was also burgeoning, following a memorable performance as Bishop in Ernest Dickerson's Juice. After appearing in director John Singleton's movie Poetic Justice, alongside Janet Jackson, he was dropped from the same director's Higher Learning. Shakur took things into his own hands when he was also removed from the set of Allen Hughes' Menace II Society when he attacked the director, for which he received a 15 day jail sentence in February 1994. He did however, make it on to the final cut of the basketball movie Above The Rim. Shakur's run-ins with the police had escalated in line with his profile as a prominent black artist. He was arrested in 1992 when a fight he was involved in resulted in the accidental death of a six-year-old boy, although the charges were later dismissed. He was accused in October 1993 of involvement in the shooting of two plain clothes policemen (later dismissed), and one count of forceful sodomy of a female fan. He was already on bail for an outstanding battery charge for allegedly striking a woman who asked for his autograph, and had also been arrested in Los Angeles for carrying a concealed weapon and assaulting a driver. Further controversy followed when a tape of 2Pacalypse Now was found in the possession of a man arrested for murder. Shakur was found guilty of the sexual assault in November 1994, but the following day (30 November) was shot and robbed in the lobby of Quad Studios in New York's Times Square. Shakur later accused Biggie Smalls (the Notorious B.I.G.), Andre Harrell and Sean "Puffy" Combs of involvement in the shooting, directly leading to the east coast/west coast feud that would eventually result in the deaths of both the Notorious B.I.G. and Shakur himself. Following the shooting incident, Shakur was sentenced to four and a half years in jail on February 7 1995. The epic Me Against The World was released while he was serving his sentence, but still debuted at number 1 in the US charts. Meanwhile, Marion "Suge' Knight, president of hip-hop's most successful label Death Row Records, had arranged parole for Shakur, who eventually served only eight months of his sentence. Newly signed to Death Row, Shakur released 1996"s sprawling double set All Eyez On Me, which entered the main Billboard US chart at number 1. The reviews were both supportive and outstandingly good, and the album sold over six million in its first year, and generated a hit single with the Dr. Dre duet "California Love'. During the same year, Shakur began concentrating on his acting career again, appearing in Bullet and Gridlock'd (opposite Tim Roth). Further drama came when he was gunned down in Las Vegas on 8 September after watching the Mike Tyson-Bruce Seldon fight at the MGM Grand, and died five days later. Various explanations were given, including the theory that the Notorious B.I.G. arranged the shooting after Shakur had bragged about sleeping with his wife, Faith Evans. The east coast/west coast rivalry continued after his death, leading to the Notorious B.I.G."s murder in similar circumstances six months later. In a further twist, Orlando Anderson, the chief suspect in Shakur's murder, was shot dead on 29 May 1998. Since his death Shakur's recorded legacy has generated several posthumous releases and hit singles, amid ugly squabblings over his estate. R U Still Down? (Remember Me) (released on his mother's new Amaru label) collects unreleased material from 1992-1994. The Rose That Grew From Concrete is an excellent tribute album from many of rap's new wave, all of whom owe much to his talent and legacy. http://www.tupacnet.org/pics/Gallery1/tupac.jpg btw i found it really weird coz he died 1 day be4 my B-day..10 years after.. my actual birth.. but thats just a co-insedence plz dun flame this topic or rap itself but i really would like to hear your opinionz on him peace |

da_bro if u wanne now it went like this The Tupac and Biggie feud all started November,30th 1994 when Tupac went to the Quad Recording Studio in Manhattan to record with another rapper for his third solo Me Against The World in the Studio lobby Tupac was shot several times including 2 graze wounds to the head. Tupac was also robbed of $40,000 worth in jewelry. Tupac's lawyer's said the attack appeared to be a setup. On February 14th, 1995 Tupac is sentenced to up to four and a half years in prison. Tupac immediately begins serving time in New York Rikers Island. In a April 1995 issue of VIBE Magazine, Vibe interviews 2Pac from his jail cell. In the interview 2Pac implicates Biggie Smalls, Puffy Combs, Andre Harrell, his close friend strech and others in the recording studio ambush. Biggie, Puffy and Harrell tell VIBE they had no connection with the 2Pac studio ambush. Suge Knight (Death Row CEO) posts 1,4 million bond to release 2Pac.2pac then flies to LA and signs with Death Row. On November, 30th 1995 one year after 2Pac was shot his once close friend Randy "STRETCH" Walker is murdered execution-style in Queens. In a February 1996 Issue of VIBE 2Pac Says he's been sleeping with Biggie's wife Faith Evans. Faith says the story's are not true. On March 29th, 1996 at the Soul Train Music Awards Death Row and Bad Boy employees exchange words and a gun is pulled. In May 1996 Tupac and Snoop release "2 Of Americaz Most wanted" in the intro of the video Biggie and Puffy are punished for setting up Tupac. The video only ran for a few weeks then is replaced by the current video. On June 4th, 1996 Death Row releases "HIT 'EM UP" on the "How Do You Want it" single. "HIT 'EM UP" disses Biggie, Bad Boy, Mobb Deep and others and 2pac tells Biggie "I fliped your wife". On September 13, 1996 Tupac dies of gun wounds of a ambush in Las Vegas a year later Christopher Wallace aka The Notorious B.I.G dies of gun wounds. kind of sad story man :( |

Tupac/2pac was and still is my 2nd favorite rapper, always will be. His songs were great, his attitude was funny, and he was one of the few rappers that talked about life in the ghetto. IS he alive? Personally, i dont think so, although there is much evidence that could prove me wrong. So Pac, R.I.P!

Puff soaked Interscope offices With champagne bottles on Steve, and Steve thought the drama is on me Cause previously it would have been, against whoever Friends forever However, I learn, with some niggas it's all business But I'm a street dude with morals To diss niggas with Jigga too much, he used to say Jay wanted my spot I laughed, stayed home, never hung a lot A quiet man who used to be alone planning Baby moms thought I was too quiet, couldn't stand it She hit the streets, later on she hittin the sheets With a rapper who wanted me on his songs, thinking he strong I taught her how to watch for cars that might follow Tauht her street #### that I know Her weakness was shine yo But that's her, I ain't mad baby, it made me stronger Now I get my paper longer Illmatic I was boss It Was Written I flossed One of the most creative LPs ever to hit stores In the Firm I learned I am Nastradamus QB's Finest, Oochie Wally, faced more problems I gave it all up so I can chill at home with mama She was getting old and sick so I stayed beside her We had the best times, she asked would I make more songs I told her not till I see her health get more strong In the middle of that, Jay tried to sneak attack Assasinate my character, degrade my hood Cause in order for him to be the Don, Nas had to go The Gam-B-I-N-O rules I understood What you want, see, I already had The Gift and The Curse? #### that ####, the first shall be last I'm the man's man, a rapper's rapper G-O-D S-O-N, they'll be none after I was Scarface, Jay was Manolo It hurt me when I had to kill him and his whole squad for dolo [for dolo echoes] [Outro] Uh, Uh, Uh [Chorus 2X] |
