Scientists have discovered a way to bring dead dogs back to life.
Using a so-called suspended animation technique, they emptied the dead animals' veins of blood and filled them with ice-cold saline solution to preserve the tissues and organs.
The saline solution was then replaced with fresh blood and electric shocks were used to restart the heart. The dogs appeared unharmed by their suspension and had suffered no brain damage
They believe it could save the lives of people who have suffered massive blood loss, such as battlefield casualties or stabbings victims.

oh man, here we go... umbrella is coming soon now ! :colgate:

Master_Jay 06-29-2005 10:20 AM

That sounds good. Hopefully it can do the same for humans as well.

machine1 06-29-2005 10:27 AM

alright...i seen enough movies to know this is not a good thing....... we don't need any zombies runnin loose....lol...they should stop all experimentations.....end of story!

MEGA_DRACOS_XRL 06-29-2005 10:28 AM

eh? but we all know it's probably going to work on humans

and tranfusions right? and a lotta more aid shall be going around as well if this goes on

Virtual Fighter 06-29-2005 10:31 AM

THAT'S SINFUll! WE'RE ALL GOING TO HELL!

Angel-Eyes 06-29-2005 10:42 AM

[quote:post_uid0="Virtual Fighter"]THAT'S SINFUll! WE'RE ALL GOING TO HELL!
hey thats what I was gonna say!

actually I dont care.

my theory is that if you pumped that new crap into a dead human and brought him to "life", I think it would just be a brain dead organism.

but who knows

omg here it goes again

machine1 06-29-2005 10:49 AM

i seriously think that what you see with the zombie movies and return of the dead movies will happen if we start doing these certain experiments....... thats why scientists should just forget about it and let the dead stay dead@ :D

That hypothesis actually makes sense. You can always revive the beating of the heart since it basically requires electric impulse. However, draining all the fluid from the brain kinda makes that oh so very impotart part of the body "useless"

Liger Zero 06-29-2005 12:46 PM

But Just In Case Im Still Glad I Got My Tech.

vx_unicom 06-29-2005 12:55 PM

[quote:post_uid0="Master_Jay"]That sounds good. Hopefully it can do the same for humans as well.
This "experiment" will work on dogs, and perhaps some other mammal species..., however, this new found knowledge will never work on human beings.., in terms of bringing "humans" back to life, perhaps if that particular person/persons are still alive.

If your willing to "dispute" with me and turn this into a Debate, then so be it.

alamgir 06-29-2005 02:28 PM

How do you know scientists won't be able to expand on the current knowledge gained from this experiment and make it dead human friendly?

~Mastermax~ 06-29-2005 02:43 PM

makes me think of those damn dogs on RE.

but whats wrong with them being brain dead, zombies rock ass!!!

blanka09 06-29-2005 02:48 PM

Yeah; I'd rather take my chances with the "afterlife" than becoming something like that

alamgir 06-29-2005 03:04 PM

Whoa I can just imagine what zombie elephants would be like!

~Mastermax~ 06-29-2005 03:06 PM

i know its not a zombie, but imagine real life "El Gigante", that would rip ass in a war...

caylan1234 06-29-2005 03:11 PM

when the dogs were brought back they had no memory lose wow do you know what that could do if it really worked on humans that means police would probley have murders solved quickly if they could bring the victim back to life.

~Mastermax~ 06-29-2005 04:26 PM

this brings back memories of pet semetary, would coming back to life crush all thoughts of sanity and bring up the never ending thought of you actually being dead.

Shinatsu 06-29-2005 04:46 PM

Just more years of research and tests and....who knows maybe immortality could come into the mix? *sigh* If only....

Windarossa 06-29-2005 05:21 PM

[b]The idea all together creeps me out. On one hand, this is a great break through in medical science, the idea that you can bring people back from the dead without consequences. But on the other, it seems so immoral and when a person dies, it

Zpower 06-29-2005 05:25 PM

Death is easy to solve.... if your body is still intact that is... If you're blown to pieces.... thats another story.....

Shinatsu 06-29-2005 05:26 PM

If your blown to pieces your basically screwed based upon this theory.

~Mastermax~ 06-29-2005 05:29 PM

well there always was frankenstien's theory

AnimeGirl4evr 06-29-2005 05:30 PM

I say..Let the dead stay dead...let them r.i.p..

blanka09 06-29-2005 05:40 PM

It's a fact that experiments like these keep on pushing the limit to which science can slam the door in the face of moral idealists on whether or not things like those should fly

Windarossa 06-29-2005 05:43 PM

Well, when people die in hospitals doctors try to resuscitate them. And in many cases they end up reviving their bodies but not their brains, which saves the persons life, but makes them a vegetable.

If you think about it, a person in a vegetative state is a zombie! They were dead and now they are alive without the brains.

The point is, doctors have been doing this for a long time, so this new experiments just seem like the next step.

blanka09 06-29-2005 05:51 PM

Actually when a person DIES... as in, the heart and the brain stop.. they try to "shock" their heart back into it's function. If that fails, then they are presumed dead. No amount of scientific blabbregoon (yeah.. my word) can him/her back to life.

One can only say for certain... that is, taking awayy the element of faith of what we actually experience when the heart stops. So it goes beyond ethical beliefs to try and "bring the dead" back to life.

Vash 06-29-2005 06:04 PM

That's vudo :D

~Mastermax~ 06-29-2005 06:26 PM

people thought umbrellas were against religional beliefs too, "if god made rain he wanted us to get wet" and what did people think about when we found out how to bring people back to life witha spark to the heart?

Angel-Eyes 06-29-2005 09:11 PM

now we have to define souls and whether or not they exist.

I for one believe that all humans get a soul when they become a zygote. and animals do not have them

machine1 06-30-2005 04:37 AM

eh, we'll probably all be dead before humans can be revived.

lol... well its true....it's going to take years before research is complete.... bringin back the dead, cure for cancer....all the stuff we need wont come till after we're all long gone

~Mastermax~ 06-30-2005 10:34 AM

well we would have a cure for cancer if it wasn't for a certain banning of research on the closest thing we had for a cure...

caylan1234 06-30-2005 11:04 AM

If they do bring the dead back it will problry cost a fortune only rich people could afford and the dead would problry only live for a little while.

Zapper 06-30-2005 11:11 AM

True^

marvel911 06-30-2005 06:43 PM

By chance did you miss this part:

Scientists at the Safar Centre in Pittsburgh hope to use the technique onhumans within a year and are in talks with hospitals about trials on trauma patients.

Overall the experiment sounds like it could work, of course, I'm not doctor so I have no idea what this whole thing could do to the human body. And frankly I think using all that blood just to revive a dead body does seem like a waste especially when we need to blood, for say a blood transfusion just to keep someone alive.

However, If this experiment were to be a success on humans, then I think it should only be done in the instance of a child's death. When someone is 70-80 years old and they die, well let it be, they've had their run. But if someone dies at 8-12, then a procedure like this could be very beneficial.

SSJKarma 07-02-2005 09:29 AM

if there is one thing i learned from the past inventions, is that even thought it was made for the greater good of humanity... it will always end up be used to make even more wars !

imagine soldiers that cannot be killed !
imagine endless wars that goes on world wide because the many armies cannot die !
sorry guys... i think that our times as come, we should accept it and stop thinking of trying to cheat death when it comes for us !

i'm ready to die... and i know i enjoy each day of life as it happens !
do the same guys...

those scientists trys to ake it easyer by not dieing, for they fear death in itself !

machine1 07-02-2005 10:26 AM

well said, karma. I agree. When it's your time, it's your time! Lets not try to change our destiny. If humans can be brought back to life, either hell will raise loose or zombies will actually be real......lol
