...London.
After one long hard struggle with the other participants which included New York, Madrid and Paris the 2012 games will come to London. The 4th round saw London beating Paris to the finish line, 54 votes to 50 at the IOC meeting in Singapore. The best thing about it is that the games will be pretty much around the corner from me. |

Yeah I know, another thing to note is that a lot of refurbishment projects will start to happen in my area because of it.
|
Cool, I can't wait till 2012! ( Yeah Right) But thats cool. Lets Hope They dont Have a event going through your house.
|
yayyyy. (sarcasm) -_-
|
Well it's good that they're in London, of course I never watch the Olympics..
|
after 9/11 weren't countries fighting to not get the olympics, or was that the world series?
|
Why should a major sporting event halt because of a terrorist attack that happened in another country? You can't stop everything in fear of terrorism.
Anyway the 7 year project is gonna be awesome as well as the improvemenets that are going to be made for transport. |
i thought the olympics were every four years. didnt they have it reccently?
|
yes they did in 2004 but should have one in 2008 or is that winter games im confused anyways i dont really like london but gota give them props for winning.
|
gieandfer, this was the bid for the 2012 olympics... in which case almost everyone of us would be 7 years older when London hosts it
But what was really intriguing was the fact that at the G-8 Summit in Scotland, Jacques Chirac, the president of france said that the brits have the worse kind of food... second to only Finland. Of course he was joking... but somehow and somewayy, the british can laugh at his face for they won the bid and Paris (runner up) lost  Edited By blanka09 on 1120679045 |

lol yeah...... we had it in '04 then we will have 1 in '08...then '12 then '16, etc. and i could care less =/ i only look at the olympics for the basketball. |
yea me either. the olympics is sort of a drag. except when team USA plays in the basketball games. i wonder who vince carter will fight next. japan, london, who knows?
|
pfft.. the first 2 dream teams and that was it. You would think the home of the NBA stars would always produce the number 1 team in Basketball.. but they didn't win the last time. Which is kinda very disappointing. Hopefully they do better. As for me, I watch the olympics for the track events
|
yea i was pissed when we got third. america doenst get third in basketball its just not right. and i watch the swimming and diving. and gymanastics and track. but mostly swiming thats mah sport
|
Lmao..America got beat in its own game..I only watch the track and field events
Edited By AnimeGirl4evr on 1120686916 |
I watch most things to be honest.
|

Me too...I don't really watch anything else until Winter Olympics... When I found out that it was between Paris and London I wanted London to win...I never really liked the french or they're hairy people... :hehe: I kid I kid.... |
The legends of basketball will pick the 2008 players for basketball for team U.S.A so really we have nothing to worry about.
|
i wanted NY to be the one :((((
|
Ahh they had no chance, surprisingly even admitting it themselves.
Sebastian Coe, the guy who made it happen did his job really well because it was pretty much his work alone that made us win. I met him an all. Edited By alamgir on 1120726387 |
Damn did any of you guys here about all the explosions here? The whole underground has been stopped due to a power surge, claims of bus explosions and explosions in bins have also been made by eye witnesses. This looks worrying...
Edited By alamgir on 1120728863 |
@alam: ya...it was on the news.
i was hoping for france to win when it was the last 2. but what u gonna do.... doesn't matter that much.. 2010....IT'S GOIN DOWN!!!!...VANCOUVER  |
2010? Anyway I wonder if its a coincidence that these explosions in the underground and in buses all around the city happened the day after the olympic bid and also on the day of the G8 summit?

lol... hes one of my favorite players right now..... but when he was in the olympics he was a rookie...his 1st season.... and wasnt as good as he was this season........ he couldnt shoot the jumper either.... he was dumb, turned the ball over, missed mad shots, poor defense, etc. |
Basketball? Basketball?! Geez...
Anyway the good news is that the IOC aren't budging on the olympic games verdict but the bad news is that the explosions in London today are said to be terrorist attacks, 33 people are confirmed dead and counting. |
ya i heard about it this morning. people in london just got the paper that they would host then all of a sudden a terroist attack.
i usually watch everything but i really want to watch the Tae Kwon Do. and isn't calgary hosting the winter olympics? i don't know when but i think at 2007 |
Yeah remember Tae Kwon Do last year? This guy did a flying kick to knock out his opponent instantly.
|
oh yes i remember. windarossa's topic in the links section, had it before (but now it's gone cause of flamers/spammers) anyways i wish i could've done it to all the smart aliks i sparred with before.
oh and i think it is some guy in Africa that "spinnng heel" the guy from france or paris...or is it the same place ??? |
