Well..iam debating wether to go to College in California or New York. I want to major in architecture and the college that i want to apply to in Caly is Cal Poly San Luis Obispo..and its the fourht best school of architecture but then Syracuse university in NY. I really love both of the states NY the fast pace atmosphere but the same with california. But in architecture, when you major in Arch. you dont even see day light, studying night and day. its just taht i always dreamed of living in cali, and when you apply for a carreer in arch. it highl depends on what school your graduate from. And 4th best isnt that shabby. ( i currently live in VA and the only schools fo arch. is UVA (REALLY HARD to get into and its not even in the top 20) and VT (i can get into) but VT is 10th best, which is still good)...and outa state tuition is up the wazoo..and parents cant pay for it..but i do have money i worked for .. (well over 10 K) aand like iam going to get a job for logo desing and all..so ya...

I think you should read some brosure's and decide wich one will fit you.

The colleges in cali are hot, expencive (fliping shwartseneggar) but are REALLY cool.
But did I mention expencive? |
try polytechnic institute in NYC
they say its the best college in the country |
california rules. i prefer going to los angeles colleges.
|
I would say Cali. I've been to Syracuse. It seemed pretty peaceful. Cali sems more lively though.
I would suggest, go where the action is....go to Cali. Although it would be wise to research the campus and surrounding ares to see if you would like the environment. |
I agree, california is very cool Especially if you're not from there.
But college is ass-load expencive! It costs like 30,000 per semester to go to USC and like 20,000 per semester for a UC. I say get scholarships. As many as you can. To this day my family of 3 has been able to put one guy through college, graduate school and post-graduate school out in washington DC, a sister through college all on a $30,000 a year paycheck. All because of scholarships. :blues: |
Did you get accepted to both? If you didn't then just send your application to both and see which one gives you more money and willing to help you...aslo try and figure out if they are partnered with any major buisnesses that you will major in...and which one is 4th?
And when you think of colleges you really should base it on rank...since like you said future jobs (about your first 4) will base it on the school you went to... |

if i were you, i'd go to NY. seems like its closer to where you live, and i know people dont like going far from home. but yeah, also decide which one you can better afford and which would probably benifit you better.
i'm still trying to figure out what the hell im going to do wit college and i dont got alot of time to decide. |
Go to college in NY. When you hit it big, that's where you'll be going for your career to blossum anyway. It's better you become familiar with NY now. My parents made that move to go to college in NY and it worked out for them (and they met). They achieved their goals and the generous lifestyle is the payoff. So stay strong, Abdoun. In the end, any college is a good college so don't sweat it.
