If anyone knows how 2 stop windows XP from freezinplease tell me. The thing is that whenever i get on to the internet sometimes the screen just freezes and the only way 2 get bak is to use the main switch so if anyone knows how 2 stop this please tell me :)

whats ur connection? mines verizon DSL.

i think its asdl but it has nothin to do with my internet connection becos i've already been on a 56k modem and now i'm on broadband and the freezing happened with both. I remember someone tellin me it was becos xp and all my friends have the problem

Does you XP users computer's just restart by itself sometimes?...Or is it just my computer?

mine just freezes, u have 2 switch it off then on again 2 get it back and somtimes it freezes even if i dont go on the internet. ONce when i sshut down the shut down screen froze and i couldn't even use the main button 2 turn it off so i turned the plug off and i put it bak in again 2 make it work

have you checked out microsoft.com? yours may have a bug that was resolved in later versions.. if that's the case, download a patch..... you may also want some updated virus protection... otherwise, you may have to format and reinstall xp like king ryu said...

how u download a patch?and virse pertention because my computer is acting the same way but my computer tells my that u cant play no more games and makes error report to the company to fix but they never fix the problem?

using an xp right now... but worse than freezing it loses all data once in a while and my mom has to reboot it again.. u should see how loud she screams when the computer loses all its data....not pretty....! :0

Had an XP, never froze. The problem with the XP I had is that it couldn`t detect hardware well.

i have xp well you probaly dont have enought RAM

believe me i got a lot of ram
