ok, so a few years ago, my friend told me about this site and i used to play here for fun/during my computer science class. the last time i checked here it was down because capcom asked that you guys not have it up for some legal reasons or whatever. it's cool that you guys are up and running again, but now i have a problem.
i just bought a new computer so i'm not using my old one anymore. but for whatever reason, when i try to play online it crashes during the scene when ryu comes and a dialogue box appears and says, "sorry for the inconvienience, firefox has encountered a problem and needs to restart." it then closes all my browsers i had opened (just the one that displays the ranks/screen shots/fan section etc) and the actual window that sfo loads in. does anyone know what i can do to solve this problem? i've tried for on and off for a while now, but it keeps crashing every time :( Edited By Zechs on 1114660100 |
Not exactly sure, but it might be a cache issue
- Go to Tools - Select Internet Options - Click Delete Files. Then you should restart ur computer. To be sure. Try it out. |
Or try grabbing the downloaded version of the game from http://www.streetfighteronline.com/download.htm
Playing the downloaded version should be easy. Or just check out http://www.maximumspider.com/help1.avi and http://www.maximumspider.com/help2.avi |
try using the game in a regular browser
|
already tried deleting the cache.
does downloading the game have any effect on playing the online version? i'd like to play with people instead of the computer. only browser i have installed is mozilla firefox. |
Downloading the game is basically the same thing. The only difference is, that you don't have to load it every time you want to play. You'll still play with people online, not the computer.
Personally, myself, I've been using the downloaded version since it was available. |
ok, i tried downloading the files and it got a little better. i can now host games, but after selecting my character, the game crashes. i've tried story mode and it crashes after selecting characters too >_c
|
If that's the case, make sure your "cct files" of the characters are in the same folder of the main SFO folder where you downloaded the game.. and then reinstall the game again.
Make sure you don't miss any of the cct files. |
nope, im having the same problem.
and its the same thing that you have. I can host a game or join a game, but as soon as the game starts, and the character selection screen comes up. It freezes and i have to send an error report. |
PinG issues?
blah... same here different situation.... sometimes i go into the "D.O.A" server and the game crashes.(60% of the time.) |
all the cct files are in place. it's exactly as evilhadoken said, whether i connect through the downloaded version or the web version it still crashes, sometimes sooner than another. =(

Are you able to play the game for a while ?? ... Like do you actually get into a fight before the game suddenly crashes ??
|
nope. The character select screen comes up, then this error report thing comes up.
It keeps saying that theres something wrong with Macromedia Flash Player. |
Try deleting all your SFO files and uninstalling SFO. Then get all the files back put them in the right folder and then reinstalling your SFO. Also get the latest version of micromedia, and also download the shockwave player that is there for you to download when you go to downlaod SFO. Restart your cpu.

same thing just keep happening. it wont let me play
|
argh delete the sfo files..and try to fix your registry with the registry mechanic at www.download.com
|
thats what im saying. i got what you told me to get and i deleted my SFO files. and still the same thing happens.
|
Why would you delte all your SFO files...You dont listen to what everyone says...
|
some thing must be wrong with your shockwave or something

he downloaded them back you ninny. |
i suggust u a DON'T mess around with your registry unless you know what your doing...even those software type registry crap can mess up your comp. chances are you are missing certain cct files or some are corrupted/not downloaded completely. this happens to some ppl but when i usually send them a copy of my folder it mysteriously starts working for them

here's something far more dangerous start run "msconfig"
if you don't know what your doing don't "SCREW around". don't mess with "regedit" unless you know what your going into delete :;): if you play your cards right you can run for unlimited trails. But really listen to Nferno hes knows from exprince. Edited By ACE4004 on 1115250792 |
