Yes you can...read the FAQ for more information.

But trust me...you dont want to use a controller for this game...pads suck for this game.

Yep, using the keyboard is much better than using a gamepad.

Hey guys, I just bought a game pad. The Microsoft Sidewinder Game Pad and I've been trying to figure out how to bind keys for to make this thing work. The game pad came with no instructions and no software. I see that everyone seems to be against using a game pad, but I prefer it. If it doesn't work well, then I'll just return it, but is still want to try. I guess I'm stupid because it's already been two days and I still haven't figured it out! :angryfire: I checked out the faq section as suggested by others, but it just says you can do it, it doesn't tell you how. I've even scoured microsoft.com and couldn't find anything telling me how to do it. Can anyone help? :( Feel free to IM w/ aim if anyone knows how. My sn is GpD79 Thanks guys.

Have you tried Control Panel's Gaming options?

That's a start.

duntedevil 07-07-2003 03:51 PM

look i wanting someone to close this topic people r startin to spam alot

NJguy79 07-07-2003 04:23 PM

Yes, I tried looking in gaming options, but there's nothing about binding keys there grr. It only shows me what game controlers that i have on the PC (this is the only one.) I have no idea how to do it. I think I need some extra software.

duntedevil 07-07-2003 04:27 PM

i thought i said no spammin in dis topic this topic needs to be closed

NJguy79 07-07-2003 05:48 PM

What are you talking about duntedevil...no one is spamming anything. I think you need to look up the definition of spam....and it's not meat  Anyway, if anyone was following this, I'm currently on the phone w/ Microsoft. I've been on hold for a long while now, but I'll keep you post as to the outcome.

duntedevil 07-08-2003 04:40 AM

alright u r right but the topic has been answered so there is no reason to post here

NJguy79 07-08-2003 08:07 AM

well, i called microsoft and they said that there is no software with the game pad to allow me to bind keys. He said that the program in which it is played must have this option. So I'm really frustrated. duntedevil, you said that the topic has already been answered. I don't see an answer anywhere....all I see are people refering to the FAQ....which is no help for me. Does anyone know if the game program has the option to bind keys? Please someone help me. I want to give this game pad a try. :(

duntedevil 07-08-2003 08:11 AM

NJguy79 07-08-2003 09:06 AM

I can't download joy2mouse because that's for joysticks, not game pads.

duntedevil 07-08-2003 11:23 AM

NJguy79 07-08-2003 12:10 PM

hey duntedevil, I downloaded Joy2Mouse and I tried to make it work, but I can't figure it out. How do you make it work for a game pad? If you know how, please let me know :(

duntedevil 07-08-2003 12:57 PM

NJguy79 07-08-2003 02:49 PM

duntedevil 07-08-2003 03:09 PM

yo u dummy post a topic of how to use joy2mouse or say if any other program that will make ur game pad work with xmen vs street fighter

NJguy79 07-10-2003 02:39 PM

Wouldn't that be redundant? That's what I thought this topic was about...game pads. That's why it's named game pads :p ....or at least i thought. :D
