block meter is like in Street Fighter Alpha. But that would be terrible to have, that'd be easy wins, someone could just low punch someone else to death because of guard break.

I couldnt agree more. the supers on this game are way more powerful than the one in street fighter alpha.(or it look as if)
Doing one super will instantly break their guard. But a block meter isnt really needed since specials do an efficiant amount of damage when blocking as well as supers. |

BLOCK METER, aka GUARD GAUGE, aka GUARD BREAK METER what is it... in STREET FIGHTER ALPHA 3, you cannot block indefinetely. after a while of getting hit (when your METER gets to ZERO) your character go into a GUARD CRUSHED MODE, meaning that your character was stunned from all the hit you blocked. once in that state, your opponent gets a free hit ! now think of what can happen if that thing was in ! i mean those things... - the low punch thing, like TARKANX said ! - no GUARD BREAK MOVES in this game. (thou this would be nicer then GUARD GAUGE) - against COMPUTER, i like the idea. against someone, thats what i hate the most ! - not usefull cause of the supers ! (your about to die and the opponent does his shinkuu, then you blobk it thiking i will survive, but your GUARD gets CRUSHED and you get killed cause of it) for all those reasons, i think this wouldn't be a great idea, plus i hate the thing in SFA3, it just left out the turtling option which is the real only skill people have to survive that long cause of the lag ! overall, not so bad as an idea, but not thou good either, not in this online game anyway ! |

i dont think it is totally useless, what about cheese damage, we can get rid of it (with regular moves), and add guard block...

i know it isn't useless for somethings in the game. but i do think TURTLING (the art of CROUCH BLOCKING) is the only REAL defense we have against LAG in the fight ! if TMY implements the GUARD GAUGE, then this simple DEFENSE will vanish. so we'll have to rely on SUPER JUMPS but then again, TMYAPP putted a JUMP LOCK long ago. meaning we cannot use it all the time either ! i ask this, what's left to defend ourself in the fights ? |
i mean don't think about the supers, u dont need guard block for that
but for regular moves.. have u ever been hit when a helper is sent out with ur last ounce of health and u die? well why not take out the cheesiness of that, so it will take no damage if u block, and take a regular hit if u blocked for like the 6th hit. then it resets.. but im saying for regular moves only, not with supers... just a suggestion though :D |

Well you seem to be getting somewhere with DX. but even so i doubt tmy will implement this into the game since its not exclusive to The Marvel/capcom games.

yet, helpers and variable attacks weren't in the original game, nor was sentinel ! but that kind of block damage gets on my nerve. anyway, by doing so would disrupt TMY poor AI :biggrins: imagine the computers always blocking and always finishing dead because of guard break ! i pretty much think it is the real reason why it will be implemented ! well let's ask his opinion ! TMY if you see this, give us feedbacks ! |
