You people don't realize that Marvel has constantly been getting screwed in the big industry business. The first X-Man movie, the Spiderman movie, and both Blade films were films based on Marvel characters, yet the company name "Marvel" appeared nowhere in the films credits or anything (which is why in the beginning of the Hulk and X-Men 2 movies, they had a little Marvel logo thing). They essentially got gyped out of quite a bit of time, and there was nothing they could really do about it.

Now no offense to TMy, but if you had just been gyped out of quite a few million dollars within the past few years, and you discovered that somebody (TMy) had created and released an online site containing your own copywrited material, without charging time to the users, and you didn't see a single cent of time coming back, wouldn't you be pissed?

The ONLY way I can see a compromise to be made would be if TMy charged the users a fee to play the site (like EverQuest), with Marvel getting some sort of percentage of the time made. If both Marvel and TMy could work something like that out, then I believe the site may be able to be saved.

But for all you people emailing Stan Lee, the Marvel company, and Marvel's lawyers, protesting their actions and whatnot, you're just decreasing any chance in hell that TMy could have to get this site back running. And like I said....this shouldn't be such a big deal for most of you. This is a site. An online Videosite should NOT play such an important part in your everday life.[/quote]
Well, would marvel be happier if tmyapp put there logo all over the site, and they got $ from tmyapp so that the site can keep running! i think we should all donate $ to tmyapp so he can give it to marvel so that we can keep the site running, tmyapp: you should rechange the whole site by totaly putting alote of marvel logo's and ext.

Lol...in my opinion, these kids on the forum sending emails isn't gonna do jack ####.

You really think that Marvel and its lawyers are going to reverse their decisions because they hear the sob stories of a gang of 12-16 year olds? Seriously....you all have to stop and think about what's going on. The only way that Marvel will allow TMy to keep this site and site up would be if they were getting some sort of kickback.....which won't happen unless TMy pays for it out of his own pocket, or if us, the fans, are charged (and I really can't see the former happening, not in a million years.)

Face it, the "dream" is dead. I was actually hoping on making my return in the not too distant future, but I guess that's not happening. However, I'm not going to make a big deal about it like most of you are doing. I'm not going to email the lawyer, or marvel, or Stan Lee himself....because i have more important things to do then sit and cry that a site got shut down. I suggest you all do teh same.

TMy putting the marvel logo on the site isn't going to get marvel time. And unless they get the time that they rightfully deserve, they're not going to budge, because they have LEGAL rights to what they're doing. And all of you in defiance of Marvel, taking TMy's side in this thing....you're all basically openly stating that you are in compliance with breaking the law just so you can play a site all day.

Bro....we don't have enough time to donate that will appease Marvel. Everyone donating combined will only raise maybe a grand....not nearly enough for Marvel to allow a site to stay up w/o getting any sort of kickback.

yeah it worked for the bid for power team(a Q3 mod.funimation told them if they used dbz chars they would get sued. so the team just made 6 basic chars on there own.)

ok, "tmyapp" had to delete every bit of marvel pic's ext out of his site and forum's and everything, are sig's more than likely have marvel char pic's ext. in them so tmyapp, Im guessing erased are sig's.

Uh, I'm 19, not 12. And I scored a 1300 on my SATs, and graduated high school with a 3.4 GPA...so I am actually pretty smart.

And I do not believe that a crapload of emails from 12-16 year-olds is going to sway them from their decision. The ONLY way they will reconsider would be if they were receiving time from TMy and Project X for them to continue running the site (if Marvel is even interested in allowing TMy to continue running the site; chances are they won't want anything to do with it and will refuse to go back on their decision). Emails won't do ANYTHING, and I can guarantee that.

This is the real world, not just some online fantasy world. In the world of big businesses, all they care about is time, sad to say. A bunch of emails won't get Marvel the time they would want for having their name on an online site using their characters.

IF, and that's a big IF....IF they decide to pursue the angle of having an online site using their characters, the only way they would be happy would be if they and Project X charged the players quite a bit of time....most likely the kind of time they charge for sites like EverQuest and whatnot. That would be around $12 a month to play this site, with time going to Marvel for having their copywritten material used in the site, as well as time going to TMy to continue hosting and running the site. But a bunch of emails won't do a single thing, I can guarantee it.

*sigh* sending pity e-mails to a big, million dollar corporation to have a online site site brought back up and running....

tmy, i do apprieciate your hard work and all but i am totally shocked at finding out that your use of marvel characters are illegal. you made no offical deal with them? I WANT WOLVERINE BACK! but c'mon people, listen to joe. he is right as i am.

That's just it....it's not gonna happen.

In the world of big business, nothing's for free. Everything has a price. Therefore, unless TMy smoothes out a deal with Marvel, promising Marvel quite a bit of time to continue running the site (most likely $12 per month for each person that plays it, which will run up profits of a few thousand bucks a month, if not more), the site will never come back up. And that's assuming that Marvel will just forgive TMy for the copyright infringement laws that he broke...they already appear to be on some sour terms (TMy COULD be forced to pay Marvel up to around $300,000 in damages in a class-action lawsuit), so I doubt that XMvsSF will EVER come back.

For anyone who hasn't seen the letter that Marvel sent to TMy, here is a copy. This should clarify that there are indeed sour relations between TMy and Marvel at the moment, and that the site will most likely not be allowed to go back up, at least not if TMy intends to keep Marvel material on the site:

Now that would be a good idea....creating a fully-original fighting site online, using original characters, attacks, storylines, etc. I know for a fact that a few months back, TarkanX expressed interest in creating such a site, but i've yet to know his project. If TMy and Tarkan could collaborate and create a 100% original fighting site, that would be their best option. However, since I'm fairly sure that TMy isn't getting back any of the time he spent in the creation of XMvsSF online, he most likely wouldn't want to spend the time to start over from scratch using original material.
