Dominican: There were a few people that fought for rank in the old days, it was around the 2nd archive, when MegaPower21 was destroying every ####ie that he/she could fight. ok how many people besides ####saibot, omnislasher aka mcbeth, and megapower also fought ####ies daily for rank..

im sorry but megapower is not here playing anymore.. so it isnt much of an impact.. if you ask anyone right now in the game and mention any of those 4 names underlined they will not even know who the hell you are talking about..

people become cheap because they want to.. not because they saw someone else do it... and back then there was never any chat/talk about speedgear or any other program of that sort...

I have been here since late 2002 and my old name was Vash I think and we started having alot of ####s coming in about that time and I killed all of them.

Ok now not all the new People play for rank...... well i dont.... when i first started playing this game it was for Characters (Trying to get those wins when your a #### is actually kinda fun), then after i played trying to find a character i was comfortable with. Once i found my fav character i started training..... and then when i was getting good i fought some of those top rankers and realized they sucked......... at that point i was thinking "everyone sucks at this game if its that ez to rank". Then i faught RyusRevenge. He wooped me. I started to think he was the best player in the game.....but then i faught coolkilla, ryusinvasion, and doomtrain....... Right then i knew i wasnt even close to the top.... From then on i cared only bout being the best(in this game of course:laugh:) ... im not saying i am the best but like...you know. Anyways i had like 2 more of those moments i thought i was best....... and 2 more time i found someone 1000000 times better then me..

O oppps lol sorry for giving you my whole "sfo history"..... anyways there was like a 2 day span i cared bout rank but the rest was for fun and being the best =/..

anyways why dont you "vets" just try playing again..... it might be boring for you to play ####s, so maybe you should get the contacts of ppl that are challenges and vets and tell them to come play with you...... whenever im on i only see like 2 or 3 people actually worth playing..... maybe if youu start playing more other vets will come back too....

btw i hear sum vets saying well im not good anymore if i was in my prime i would woop everybody or w/e....... have you ever thaught (i cant spell) maybe its not you? Maybe its actually the new "generation" of players that have just gotten better? No disrespect to the vets =/......

disagree... mainly because in 2001 I was never *THE ONE TO BEAT* type of person.. it was a struggle for a person like me to get in the top 20... Now I can go for rank 1 whenever I liked to.. I come to the game now and then people target me down..

THE *NEW GENERATION* isnt as good.. and if people complain about lag right now.. then i would like to see them play the game in 2001.. they would think every game is just plain LAG..

Also we don't even have one elite fighter.. Before their would be an elite fighter on every archive..

It was either TarkanX, Zing79, Airlock, fear-tetsuo, and it ended with Nferno666.. now nferno barely even plays..

another thing to mention.. most members of this *generation* are vips.. a vip member barely has to TRY to win a game.. that is why i dont even use vip.. i like the challenge..

and ANOTHER THING! people in top ranks love tag... so they just use their little variables and crossovers against other users and some even start games in level 2.. TAG DOESNT TAKE SKILL.. imagine what a *new generation* fighter can do using both vip and tag..

What ever happened to the classic 1 vs 1 non tag? its all gone.. the only way i fight 1 on 1 non tag is if i message some of my friends from my contact list.. because they are actually skilled.. other than that.. i cant get one fight without tag in the game chat...


In other words, the new generation is nothing compared to the old generation

agreed.... not to mention the cheapness of this new generation *cough*spideykickallday*cough* and this speedgear thingy.... nahhh i guess i'll stick with the big boys of 01 and 02
