I don't know how this thread got off topic... but it is NOT a thread to promote TMyApp getting more mods. If anyone even cared to read the title, and possibly the actual message that followed after it, it says NOTHING discussing hiring new mods. In fact, it's just this kind of behavior it's preaching against.

This whole concept of "please TMy, add more mods", or even "please, give me mod powers. I'll do a good job", has been tried and refuted time and again (for dam good reasons too). TMyApp has made it plenty clear in the past and future... that he doesn't just hand out modships at anyone who looks like they might be good at it.

If you want to debate about this modship thing... here's a VERY lenghty topic with many good arguments/refrences on each side....

There may have been another one going about the same time.. but I'm too lazy/impatient too look it up... :biggrin:

..anyways, put your posts about this sort of subject in your own topics (which won't last long @ all since TMyApp, leftyfb, and myself to some degree... are here at most the time).

Nantuko Joe: it is not JUST about trust... everyone who is a mod did SOMETHING IMPROTANT/BIG for the community (they didn't become mods because of their posts on the forum)...

and to all those who say i should send a "warning" 1st... well.. see.. the thing with that is:

1: it takes the same amount of time to send a msg as it does to ban someone

2: once a warning is sent.. i have to follow up on it to make sure the person not only recieved it (people love to give out fake email addresses when they sign up... and they DONT' seem to read the pm's that are sent to them) but that they FOLLOW the warning/rules.. and ... well... common... are people who break the rules really worth ALL that ?? :biggrin:

3: even if someone is banned... to get un-banned, all they have to do is email me, and wait a few days/weeks until i get to their email...

I too think the problem will not be solved by handing out more modship. That may actually increase the problem. I agree with Warmor. If we give our current mods more power(banning powers I might add) this place wouldn't have so many "vote here" "this thing vs. this stuff" "whos the best..blah, blah, blah" topics.

I believe tmy and lefty are the only ones with banning powers. Neither of them have the time to sit around and moderate all day. 2kwarrior and Warmor do, unfortunately neither of them have the full power to take control of major situations. Giving them the admin-like powers would do the job, in my opinion anyway.

this is something that has been scratching at my curiosity(and little does that) Why are Zing, Quass and Lordcyris mods?
Whatever your answer is, why are they still mods if they do not moderate. I think Zing/Quass are because they give hosting from VGM(I think) but what about Lordcyris?

yeah i dont think quass, zing or lordcyris have time to see this forum i think u should make some changes.. tmy

zing and quass helped expand this big community, but i don't really know much about that lordcyris guy

i havent seen lordcyris post in a while, i think u should pic like 1 or 2 new mods not for the forum but for the game cuz u should see all the bitchin goin on in there one guy starts bitchin then another then someonelse and then everyone starts

That could even be understood by a new person.

I think the reason ##### are so annoying is because there ignorance of the area around them often gives them the influence to act a fool.

You must understand.The goal of an ingorant new person is to fit in,and to become superior in the same day.Even though you know there goal welcome that person heartily,and with respect that would reduce the number of Flaming hits per week.

Also, advice that person not to make topics their first weeks in this community.Instead, instruct them to read the topics first,and to give the best senseable reply to there ability.Tell them to edit incorrect spelling,and grammar in posting tell the day they have it at a perfection.

Also if your will to help a noob starts to fade advice that person to another vet.This system could be the solution to this noob problem.The program will be called "Vet Appretiance Training"=V.A.T.
