ok ok so joe Educate me on Rock just lay out some things of rock. You know teach me something that i might find intrest or combat to.

Hrmm...
-Rock singers (cept for "nu metal" and "black metal" can actually carry a tune. They are just that....SINGERS. Rappers don't sing, they talk with next to no tune in their voice. -Rock songs don't repeat the same beat over and over throughout the songs, they have constantly changing beats and instrumentals. You can press the "demo' button on an electronic keyboard and have a beat that sounds like a rap song....wow, that requires a lot of talant :p -Speaking of instruments, rock music requires REAL instruments, which require REAL talant to play, such as bass, guitars, and drums...some songs even have some sort of piano, and even some sort of wind or flute-type of instruments. Rap has...a DJ Scratch/mix table and an electric keyboard. -Rock songs have more messages other than "i have a lot of money, five cars, and I smoke weed all day and have sex with hot chicks." Many rock songs have actual MORALS, as opposed to rap BRAGGING. (granted, there are a few rap songs that talk about life in the ghetto, discrimination, etc, but for the most part it's all about girls/money/drugs/cars. I've got other stuff too, but i'm too tired and it's too late to list the rest. However, it pretty much comes down to this: Rock Music-people that SING and play INSTRUMENTS (both of which require talant) with a constantly changing, interesting beat and usually morally sound lyrics. Rap Music-people that TALK with a boring, repetitive beat in the background with no instruments, and lyrics that talk about drugs/money/girls/cars/killing people. |
not all beats are boring you make it sound like its nothing but a drum beat over and over threw out the entire song. And Rock does use guitar, base guitar and drums. Rap use all kinds of instrements and these little keyboards as you call them. Are very expensive studios that some rappers actully have in thier homes. We create things by taking a lil of this and that and even take songs from back in the days, the music mt parents listne to every time a song pops on they can name the band who originally made the song. We sometimes take songs from our own generation of black bands. And in rap you can here every kind of instruments(besides Guitars) Thier is Orchestra(Sisquo Thong song) nice paino solos (Nas I can) and bands(lil kim, Jump off) carzy other sounds that I doubt u can make. Some rappers use hot college bands in thier songs. And trust me they are not any boring beats. As for the singing well we have R&B singers for that thier are rappers who can bust a tune too joe. And the why I see it we can have total control over our songs since they have already been created and rec in the studios. As for Rock they have to play them loud and the instuments will be why loud as hell. And can barley hear what they are saying.

most songs in rock you can hear everything they say for example All american rejects (Swing,Swing) Note: i hate that song soo badly the drum beats are usually boring......here put it this way what would u rather listen to without lyrics rap: repeating drum beat that may change 3-4 times in a song for a short amount of time rock,metal,punk:an exciting gituar,bass,drum part that keeps changing :laughlong: the answer is kind of obvious :shocked: also masterx05 you keep assuming joes talking about metal....hes not you can hear everyting and its not always "loud" |
