Pfft, no.

I think Gambit would be nice.
Spider man was the last character added, was he not? It's only logical that we incorporate a different SF character now. Not as if these opinions would matter much right now though.

Yes, yes, he was...Anyway, new Tactic:

A Ryu-vs-Sentinel fight is to me the easiest fight for Ryu. Sentinel is so tall that upclose Ryu is can almost imobilize him.^_^ I most of the time jump at Sentinel using hardkicks and once i get up close i use a combination of kicks and punches. Triping Sentinel is good because you can continue the barrage by jumping after him. Most Sentinel players tend to play "Keep Away" by using Rocket Punch and Sentinel Beams. Also, a nice super combo is to do the Hurricane Kick super followed by the Shin Shoryuken super...unless it lags.

Theres no way in hell your ryu could beat my sent and others just no chance in hell and i ant cheap.

sent owns ryu

Hadokenman 03-26-2004 07:35 AM

lol pip99...*sighs* maybe i'll just go to "hell" and prove my tactic right.just kidding...the tactic I posted does help me, and seems to work in MOST cases. But yes, sometimes a really good sentinel fighter comes along. You could be one of them, but i'll never know until i fight you.^_^ Playing the right way, i guess you could say sentinel "owns" ryu, but that can backfire :angryfire:

Now PiP, i know im also new around here. And trust me, if you say your a good "Sent" player then i belive you, having not played you myself i have nothing to go by.
But one of the great things about the online community is that, there is allways allways some one better then you. As im sure any martial arts teacher will tell you, "never underestimate your opponent" . Dont just argue with HadokenMan, any five year old can do that. Set a time and a place and fight him, All you can do is learn from the battle. That goes for everyone, learning from each other is the only way you can become a true master at anything, Thats why we have this thread. You never know, Hadokenman may have something up his sleave. You just dont know untill you go to find out.

And now my Ryu tactics so im not pointlessy whoring.

I usually get up close and use a barrage of light to medium punches..Then while the opponent is recovering I put in a hard kick or occasionally a super-move. I know the light punches dont do much damage, but the fraction of damage they do deal , may be all i need to turn the fight in my favour.

Blashyrkh 03-26-2004 11:36 PM

Nicely spoken, Misfit :p

I find most players using Sentinel with what is called a CHEAP strategy which entails hovering to the opposite side of the screen then blasting away with that heavy punch/laser beam. It can be frustrating, but with good timing I simply super jump across to their side then unleash my foot into his robotic face! Then I do a bit of random button pressing, that usually does the trick.

Misfit 03-27-2004 03:58 AM

Haha, Good old button mashing. Cheap? yes, remember the days when you would be launching well timed attacks.Saving your supers for crucial moments in the battle..Only to look over at your friend franticly mashing any button on the game pad ..and winning!

Its pretty much the same thing here..But we have the cover of anominity. So when questioned about our "monster mashing" we can simply put it down to tactics.. :)
