Well you mustn;t have liked any of the combos in tekken, because tekken 4 has all the combos from previous games and more, although they seem easier to preform. Ahh theres only 2 days left and 5 comes out on PS2.

The-Infamous 02-23-2005 02:23 PM

yeah i guess thats y did seemed to easy to do. i cant wait till tekken 5. one thing i did like in tekken 4 was the huge video scenee those were good. i hope tekken 5 has even longer ones.

Zapper 02-25-2005 12:38 PM

Tekken 4 had the best music of the series (the beach and the building)
ne who.. yeah can't wait for teeken 5. I personally hope it's a lot like tekken 4. I'm unbeatable in that game!! Kazuya!

I heard there was supposed to be some new combos in this game, is that true?

Also, will there be another Tekken tag installment?

Check Gamefaqs.com for rants and raves.

Also, before anyone asks, Jinpachi is NOT playable. Unless you have an action replay/code breaker or something of the like.

MasterX05 02-25-2005 08:55 PM

yeah the only one kind of character having to do more work to get is Devil Jin. And from what ive heard Jinpachi is a pain in the ass, and hard to beat. Becuz of his demon moves and stuff, many say they are glad he is not playable cuz he would be abused and cheap in human vs human plays.

Now with a half-full wallet, I went out and purchased Tekken 5 today! :) The cover has Jin in the center, Asuka Kazama at the right, and Raven at the left. Its opening movie is crisp and detailed, especially after Kazuya punches a Jack-5 during an attack and his metallic insides bust open.....I won't go into too much since that'll be ruining the experience. Story Mode is just like in Tekken 4, except there are more regular game engine scenes and movies. Arcade Mode is....quite different. First of all, you can get money from Arcade Mode and Tekken:Devil Within(explained later), to customize your characters appearance. That includes what they wear on there Head, Face, Body, 3 places on the body to chose different colors from, and a new costume. You also get to give yourself a name to use during Arcade Mode. If you've ever played Virtua Fighter 4 or Evolution, then you're going to be familiar with this mode. You start out as a beginner, then you can get promoted to a higher rank starting from 9th kyu to 1st dan and so on. You'll earn money along the way. I don't know how far the ranks go, or what you'll earn either, but i'm sure it's worth it. Time Attack is jus like Arcade Mode used to be, with a set number of stages and a timer running until you finish. Of course theres Vs Battle, Team Battle, Survival and Practice. Then, there is Tekken: Devil Within. It's a mode similar to the Tekken Force one on T4, but different. You can only play as Jin, as its mainly about him. After the Jacks attack, one of his father's labs were invaded. Jin goes in to try to find something to get rid of his demonic genes. You move with the right stick and change camera with the left, You can punch and kick, but not choose all the moves from your command list. Its sort of like a Rise to Honor fighting style: you can press punch repeatedly to do a combo, and mix that up with kicks to switch things up. Jacks and other robots will attack you, and you can choose which difficulty to start out with. Saving is also available. There are to meters: the Health Gauge and the Devil Gauge. Fill the Devil Gauge by fighting, and when its full, you can press L1+triangle to turn into Devil Jin. He is more powerful, but his health depletes in time. You can also jump, pretty high infact, and can earn force points which is reverted to money later on. Its a pretty good side quest when you want to do a little adventuring after getting beat by Jinpachi in Story Mode. lol.....Arcade History Mode has 4 games....StarBlade, and the arcade versions of Tekken 1, 2 and 3 available for play.....without the quarters of course. The Theater is where you listen to music or watch movies from the game and others after you've seen them. Customize mode is what I explained above. You can go into Progressive Mode with if your TV allows it. The graphics aren't too much of a step foward, but you can tell the difference. The stages were beatifully done. There is one stage that is during midnight, and you can see the moon in the sky, while your fighting in a bed of white flowers. Behind rocks is a sea. If someone hits the ground hard, the ground breaks where the person landed. It depends on the stage, like in the stage above, pedals break of from flowers, others money scatters, leaves float, glass shatters and rocks crumble. Its a really nice addition. Some characters look completely different, like Nina Williams and Ling Xiaoyu. Raven(male), an international intelligence agent, Asuka Kazama, a Japanese girl who was taught the Kazama Style Traditional Martial Arts style, and Feng Wei, a Chinese man who, through ambitious reasons, killed his master and seeks to perfect his style, are among the new characters. Unlockables aside from characters are probably present, so go for those as you play. There are more moves and combos even for older characters, as some moves float highter than they used to, and more crumbles are present. I think Tekken 5 is a decent game, and people who buy it won't be disappointed. :)
EDIT: I think that Tekken have also improved on the Musical Department as well. :D
