Why is a hamburger called a 'ham' burger when it has no form of ham in it, nor does it come from the same animal that produces ham..?

maybe because they couldnt think of any other name.... besides what kind of name is "cowburger"..... i guess theyre juss mental and was to lazy to think of a good name... *sigh* ??? |
