Well that's very put Troy, your right I was a nobody when I first played this game. I had a record of 46-26 and I was in 46th place, to my amazement I was yelliing like a lunatic, because I'm probably going to be first at something for the first time in my life.
I beat people like CptnAmerica, he was amazed that I beat him(even though he registered like 4 days before I did). I was in the top 10, then I fought Lefty. It was a test of battle, he beat me, then I beat him. After Necro's tourney, I just went on a rampage, and just kept playing the game, day and night like Nferno did. After the first top scores, I thought I was the best, but it took me to the middle of the second top scores(around early november) to realize that ranks didn't mean anything. I didn't play for ranks for a while, but when the score was about to end, I just came surging back(I wanted everyone, every generation to know the name "TarkanX"). I got first place, but in the 3rd ranks, for the early part I was on fire I went like 400-5, then when jump lock came, my skill(*cough*) just went so much down. I relied on SJ's so much. I was getting surprised that ######s would beat me, even fear tetsuo, the person I trained in this online game beat me. From January to April, I just played for fun, if I lost, I was glad. But then suddenly, tension brewed up in my blood. I had that line in my head, everyone, every generation should always know the name TarkanX. I kept fighitng like a mad man, day, and night. but then Suddenly on the last day, PRO gets 10,000 points in one day. I didn't care, I got 2nd. So I finally said to myself, who cares if people know me or don't know me. The only thing that matters is I did my part. *It's like how in basketball, Julius Erving(Dr. J) passed on his skills to Magic Johnson and Larry Byrd, and they passed their skills to Micheal Jordan, then Micheal Jordan passed down his skills to Kobe Bryant, and Allen Iversion* *But in this sense, Lefty passed his skills down to me(sort of, not training wise), and I passed down my skills to many other people, and they passed down their skills to other people, even if I still play(even if I don't have the same calibur as I used to), I just play for whatever reason* Anyways.... On the 4th rank, I went like 50-70, or something like that, Sent then got added, and I finally was good again(some of the "skill" I used to have was brought back to me). Anyways, I dind't play much, just twice a day, when the rank endings neared, I played a lot, probably like 10 games a day, even though thats not a lot. I wanted to prove a point to everyone that rank was bad, but no one could listen. I ended up getting 7th, but it didn't matter, for the rank system gone corrupt..... Anyways Troy, I REALLY agree with you, but it's useless... you can't change it. You have to change 100,000+ peoples minds. And I doubt anyone here could do that. I try a lot of times, but people always spam the chat.... let it go by, if you don't like the rank, just ignore it, and stop complaining(even though you didn't somewhat). |
Yeah, you are probably right...but the person I REALLY wanted to convince was TMyApp, and he hasn't even so much as looked at my idea in the new features section (it sat there for like 3 weeks), and now it's a dead thread.

wait wait wait...I still dont get this in other words you want to stay on top even if youre not active?
I admit there are alot of noob killers around but im here mainly just to play the game I used to want to be number one but ive never gotten there I wanted to but I just dont play for that anymore. In any on-line game if you snooze you lose so i dont blame ppl who have good skills playing anyone they want AS many times as they want I dont like noob killers (as defined before) but you should not blame ppl who are good and just put more time into the game. I mean if youre good you can move up the ladder pretty fast also by playing a decent amount of good players (if they accept which is another subject all together) and a good amount of ##### or players (which can be a disguised challenge). Anyways I have come to terms with this because in any other system the same thing would happen. People here know each other there are clans here as well if a number one contender was to keep number one without having to play whats to stop him from just helping ppl he likes to stay at the top. Tark speaking of that when i first got here the top ten was cluttered with a certain group you know who I speak of names consisting of you, profe$$or, fear_tetsuo, austin or whichever name they choose to use as well as others clouded the top. I would come in as DaPrototype and NONE of you ever excepted my challenge as well as anyother newcomers but when one of the top ten would show up "hey tetsuo how about a game" "oh sure tark" hmmm this to is a problem that happens here as well and in any system no matter what it is this will always happen. |

I don't totally hate the rank system. It works well for someone trying to work their way up. But what about once you start to actually get near the top? What then? Then ever person you face will give you a measly 10 points, regardless of their ranking, regardless of how tough they were to beat. Example: You are ranked #50. You go to fight the #15 person (who just for the sake of the example, is very tough to beat), and you give it everything you've got, and you manage to win. You get his points minus your points, divided by 2. That's fine, and seems perfectly fair to me. After all, you should get a reward for beating someone ranked higher than you. Now, let's say later on, through, you managed to get to #10. You go to fight the #15 person once again. As before, he gives you a tough match, but you still manage to beat him. But this time, you get a whopping 10 points. He's every bit as hard as he was before, and you practically get nothing for it! In fact, there was a good chance that he would have beaten you, and taken 10 points from you. This encourages noob-killing, because once you've reached the top 10, everyone you beat will give you the same amount of points. Now, I'm not suggesting anything drastic. You shouldn't get a huge reward for beating someone ranked under you, not by any means. If that is what you thought I was trying to imply, then you would have been right, that would be unfair. Being more active than someone else should definitely pay off, especially if you are fighting the higher ranked people. However, I do think that beating #15 should be worth more than beating #9999. Nothing too drastic, just an extra little bonus. I think that the bonuses should go like this: For beating ranks: You get an additional: 51-100 10 points 26-50 20 points 11-25 30 points 1-10 50 points If this were to be implemented, I wouldn't see anything unfair about it at all. You would still get WAY more points for beating someone ranked higher than you (his points minus your points, divided by 2), but it would also give you a small reward for beating the people that are the most active and competitive (the top 100), who are ranked under you, instead of just noobs. The system should remain exactly the way that it is now, with the exception of the bonuses. The bonuses wouldn't drastically change things, or make things unfair (because they aren't substantial in the first place), but they would be enough to give the top ranking people some incentive to play you, and other skilled fighters, instead of just noobs. If you don't completely understand my idea, click on the link in my sig, and you will see a more detailed explanation, as well as a poll to vote on the idea (whether it's a good idea or not). As of right now, I think the results of the vote speak for themselves. 12 people like it, 1 person dislikes it. |
