You can't blame the BOT though.. it's you guys that caused this. In the past minor flooding like that wasn't kicked... but now, you have people typing things like this

ffssg
ffsae
feaff
fffff
asss
fffffa

just continously.. so we have to find ways to stop this... hence the filter was updated. So if there's anyone you'd blame it's the users themselves. Heck, we shouldn't have any BOTs... but unfortunately, not everyone in the chatroom is matured enough

blanka i know u wud support ur admin team man..but seriously this is a serious problem that all us users face now adays..and it needs to be fixed

can't have a proper chat with anyone..

blanka09 01-05-2005 04:42 AM

It's not about supporting anyone here.. it's the straight fact.

In an ideal situatino, we don't even need a BOT in the servers... we don't need an admin or a moderator watching the servers 26.6 hours a day (I know I know.. the 2.6 eradicates the short term madness we run into  ) but the sad truth is, this is far from being an ideal situation

Users just come into the chatroom to do all sorts of nonsense. Some of which you've seen, some of which you know and some of which you're yet to hear about. And since an able human can't be in the server all the time, we need the BOTs there to help keep things sane.

And because of the fact that it's a BOT and cannot be perfect no matter how the filter's been tweaked, there'll be some "mistake kicks" here and there. but I assure you that over 75% of the booting you'll see in the servers are from users being outright idiotic.

There really isn't anything to be "fixed" here.. it's just an issue of the users not behaving the right way. In an ideal world of SFO, BOTs wouldn't be needed.. however, the users have pushed us to the limit... and we have to respond one way or the other

Nferno better of telling what you put in the BOT or who ever using it. So these people will know what you got in the bot. I remember you posting in 2003 or 2004 about the bot. Like the filter part. Don't remember exactly what you put. It's better off telling them so they will know.

umm i never actually k####out this repeating letters stuff til after i got kicked 2-3 times but yea i agree it is gettin strict!

Nferno666 01-06-2005 04:43 AM

the filter is only meant for my eyes and my eyes only, sure the mods/admins can view about 100 entries of my filter before it crashes their comps  so...only 2 ppl can edit/update/view the filter and that consists of me...and TMyApp but his original filter only had 250 things to kick for...once i got my hands on it i added about 3,000+ things to kick for so...if you got a problem with the sssddd and stuff...then TOO BAD. learn how to spell/use grammer correctly in the chat
