you understood me wrong TMyApp... i didn't say that the update was like sucking in any way ! i said that it was disillusionnal to tell us it would be the biggest update far more then NOTS when it was just the STORY mode who came in ! it is just that. for my part i will always be happy as long as you update the game with new things even if its just a new move to a char !

making the story mode is far more complicated then making the sentinels fight back in practice mode ! i know that for a fact, so i understand why you telled it would be better than NOTS and saying it would be 5x better then NOTS was just a little overThought ! i will make it about 2x not more than that cause it would have taken 2x time it takes you to program nots !

anyway... like i said i'm just glad you released a new thing in the game !
just a question:
what will happen of the PRACTICE mode if it has been replaced by the story mode ?

i would suggest you bring back BARNEY and put him a semi-AI so we can practice with all 3 super bar and have a little movement in the dummy to practice our moves on !

never.. not even ONCE did i say that Oct. 5th (originally Sept 30th) update would be "bigger than NOTS"

you can look ANYWHERE.. and you will NEVER me saying that...

in fact... the Sep28/Oct5 update was never even ANNOUNCED ahead of time... it is.. and was.. "just an update"... the only thing i said was "the 1 week wait would be worth it" ... NOTHING else...

what you (and others ??) did was combine "we start Sept 28" message of the last DWX Chronicle with my promise off "DWX event being 5x bigger than NOTS" .... again... just because the chronicle said "we start XX date" doesnt' mean "DWX will start on XX date" ....

if u think about... the last chronicle only talked about "someone" starting "something" on Sep 28th... it is just a story ... (all chronicles are).. simply something that is happening in the background... everything you see now (all chronicles... Onslaught... any weapon-x related changes and features) are just BUILDING UP to "DWX"

2nd point... EVERY big event was ALWAYS announced WEEKS (or even months) ahead of time in the loading screen of the game... ie: words like "Destinaion Weapon-X will start on XX date... BE THERE" would have been posted (weeks ahead of time)

... ssoo... if SSJKarma, or ANYONE else think (for some stupid reason) that what you see now is "Destination Weapon-X" .. it is not... it doesn't say ANYWHERE in the game that it is... it STILL says "TBA" in the loading screen.... and well... the fact that people just DONT' read (or go off rumors ??) and bitch @ me after words really doesnt' make my day (add to the fact that i came on here to say something very important.... and u gots' u'rself one pissed off TMyApp)

to wrap up that point... i will say this one (more) time... the event by the name of "Destinaion Weapon-X" (also known as DWX) will be WAY bigger than NOTS (it can't even be compred to NOTS)... and when it does happen... EVERYONE will not only know ahead of time... but... the pure force and magnitude of the event will NOT escape even the most blind and ignorant users... seconds after they first login to the game....

now thats that out of the way... here is the "important" news that i came here to post (@ 1:15am):

the next update of the game (0.6b) will feature a secret/hidden mode (multiplayer and single player) with Onslaught as a playable character.... to find out more, u'll just have to wait another 48 hours

Right now, when you play the game. You only dowload about 3-4 megs of the game. You do not download all the characters,music,backgrounds, and helpers.
You only download what you use.
So when you select a character and a helper at the character select screen....THAT is when you download the "requested" information and all this data is stored in your "temporary internet files folder" for later use.

With the Down Loadable version of the game.
You will be able to load the full 8 meg,version of the game. It will have all the "current" characters,music,backgrounds,and helpers.
The game will still be an online multi-player game as it is now.
Except that it wont be stored in your temporary internet folder like the current version is. It will be a near complete program. That could reside on your desktop or programs folder..
Any time TMyApp does some thing new to the game...you will have to download a small patch,to get all the latest updates.


Now for a question of my own.
TMyApp: Will the D/L version use IP tunneling?
Does Shockwave even support IP tunnneling?

Oh and the story line mode rocks Tmy :D
It's nice to see all the characters with A/I. The implimentation of a "big boss", story line, and D/L version is another big step in XvsSF history..anyone that thinks other wise has their head up their ass

just a little something i noticed in the practice mode, tmy, when the characters are "discussing", Onslaught is spelled wrong in one of the dialogues, its spelled "Onaslaught".

well ur wrong about that....you are acually downloading the whole thing cause it's about 7mbs so far...each update adds about half a mb or so and sometimes more so the downloadable version will br just about the same size. lol where the hell did you get the idea of it just downloading 3-4 megs when it takes certain ppl 30 mins or so to download...except for DSL/Cable since they get it in about a 1 or less :D but it is around 7 mbs right now...check you hidden folder for IE if you want

So when is the official date of the next release because i am getting confused seeing 24 hours one post, then 48 hours in another. Just want to know exactly when to expect the update.

This is why i got confused, there were 2 different times promised.

nosoul4ever is right about the 3/4 mb download has tmyapp already said in the FAQ that you DON'T download the CHARS and the musics !

so to that 7mb you download you'll have to download the chars and music too so it will be up to 30mb in all !

understand why you can't download the full game in shockwave ?

Actually Ryu has been able to do his spinning kick in the air.

He just doesn't go upward at an angle. I noticed this too while fighting in practice. Very Kool indeed.

But for a regular airborne hurricane kick, it just takes skill to perform it. It's very useful sometimes if your opponent jumps too much :D[/quote]

Sure everyone can do a hurrican kick...but

not everyone can do it while airborne at an angle ;)

i , the most underrated playa in the game will come back when the downloadable version comes.

alright.. a bit more confusion here...

for one... nosoul4evr is a bit wrong in his description... while the FAQ mentions that the game can/will only download graphics/sounds/characters that you need... it really kinda' doesn't (yet)

why ?? well... we only have 5 chars... (not 50)... so... there is a good chance u'll need @least 4 of them at ALL times .. thus.. this is how the game works:

1st.. the loading screen pops up.... and u see the game get about 20 or 30 percent of the game... that portion includes: intro, chat, and some sounds

once that happens.. the "ok" button will appear... and u can either just sit there... or get into chat and wait .... (i'm pretty sure u can also HOST a game and wait) until the rest of the 7.5 megs load/stream to u'r computer.... once u've downloaded 100% of the game... everything else (ie: ability to practice and play online) "unlock"... (until they do... u get a "you have to wait until the game loads" message every time you try to play the game)

also... with the downloadable version of the game... all that "streaming" crap is skipped... u just get an EXE version of the game on u'r hard disk... and, it is always loaded 100% as soon as u run it.. :biggrin:

what some of u are also talking about is the "40 meg downloadable version" of the game... what is it ?? well.. (as explained by 2000warriror in the past) it is, again, a "downloadable" version... the only difference between the 40 meg and the 7.5 meg d/l versions is that the 40 meg has better quality sounds/music/graphics (while the 7.5 meg EXE is identical to the 7.5 meg online stream shockwave ver) ...

bottom line... no matter how you look it... it is still the same game... same characters... same moves... even same versions...

.. now.. the 48 hour thing (and many of u are calling it "about 48 hours".. which is a good thing) is counting from last night (monday 12am+) ... thus... with some luck, by this time tommorow (12am on wed night) .. both 7.5 meg downlodable version and the regular version of the 0.6b will be released.. along with a secret playable mode for Onslaught...

now if u all excuse me... i need some sleep :biggrin:

How come after a hosted game's match up
we always go to the damn story mode thing.
Yesterday someone was actually onslaught .
But i still kicked there ass.

someone told me the same thing too while we were playing...:omg: :lol: anyways, its proabably just a glitch. so much **** is going on, with tmy trying to put the downloadable version on, and now the game being messed up, who knows what will happen next.
