i know this is not a combo, but when i play with ryu i jump around doing feirce kicks (20% of them time), because when this game lags the ryu will just teleport in the opponent's face, and just kick him/her. that's one of my ryu tactics. ( most of you ppl might now that already though ).

Indeed, that's not a half bad tactic for those high-latency kind of games. When I play online I often find myselfusing Hurricane Kick into a Shoryuken alot of the time. I don't like using Hadouken much though because it's too easy to dodge and leaves you in a state of vulnerability for a split second which can be difficult to get out of. I mean, it's no different to any other attacks' delay time, but you can easily be super combod or receive a heavy kick in the air - possibly even a combo for those more technical, not so average players.

yes, Hurricane kicking into Shoryukens are good, but i use the weak hurrican kick since the strong one will leave you too far away from the opponent, and i agree with the vulnerability of hadokens......easy super for opponent who know.

ryu is cool and i can beat every one with him mostly not all

It's not how many times you win, it's how you win.

You can only point and laugh at those people who only use Hadouken, win or lose.

Right, again Hadoukens leave you vulnerable, and I only use them for following up attacks. Repetitive hadoukens are useless once your opponent catches on. Actually, with ryu you can create some nice combos if you experiment a little^_^

Hold down duck then short kick, then whilst standing, jab then heavy punch. It's not powerful, but it's fun. The jab then heavy punch reminds me of Balrog and his everlasting attacks with his fists.

Does anyone prefer Akuma over Ryu? If so, why?

another good tactic i've found is Hurricane kick then haduken, if they block the hurricane kick do dragon punch because most likely they'll let their guard down then super haduken, and if you were at lvl 3 before super haduken you can do a cross attack QCF and HP+HK

Blashyrkh 03-22-2004 11:11 PM

When you block it won't let go until the opponent stops making attacks. If you use hurricane kick then hadouken, chances are you'll link the two attacks because of the magic series, which would result in them blocking both attacks. Unless you connect it, obviously.
