Alrite most of you apparently have only been here for a few months.

A while back TMyApp was going to make a seperate, playable version of the game, called the "Old School version." Meaning you can play the regular game AND the old school version. This production was delayed for some reason, and hasn't been mentioned since.

yep... u'r tired of that.. and i'm tried of bitching :biggrin:

... there is a problem with the Old School verion... its... too old... :(

we are talking pre-128bit cipher ... which means, it cannot work with our current chat servers...

so why don't i just add that ?? well... its.. a lotta work... if i were to do that, i might as well fix/add a few more other features, remove all XvsSF title content (again) and add Akuma (everyone seems to like him.. right ?? )

... i think that says it all...

mainly because of the time tmyapp has to take for SFO ! and its also due to the fact that he is still wondering why you guys want an old stupidier version of this game ? sure many said it was way less laggy when it was only ryu vs ryu, but seriously tmyapp plays on a very limited machine himself and he still see these newer version a lot better and a lot less problematicks version of the old days of the ryu vs ryu time ! and i must say that i am wondering also.

as for the cheapness of the players, you want ryu only and you say its not gonna be cheap ? well as far as i remember, good hand to hand fights were even harder to find then then it is now !

say to yourself that with the lag will be getting with ryu vs ryu matches, that you'll get even more cheap players then you want them to be ! as back then, the only way to actually be sure hit, was by doing contless hadokens all the time, as the game didn't sync while supers, the game was an hell for FPS which made even a great machine get only a few FPS. and on that we hadn't had option for host or join, only quick matches. as if not enough, no more helpers, blocking bugs, speeding super bars and the likes !

so again, why would you want such a version ?

really, that's the oldskool version that was asked a year ago !

sorry, that verison i don't want to see again, it was horrible compared to what we have now.

well as much as i would want it back myself i'll have to agree with TMyApp...because it would be to much work and he would basiclly have to start from scratch cause of of those features were taken off and replaced and since he says it can't work with our current server that means we owuld have to find a *new* one that would

why wuold you want to see a full of bugs and laggy as hell version to be back ?
not mentionning the fact that 3/4 of the function here will not be there !

well the game ran much better for ppl with slow comps back than...every1 was above 30 fps...now these days your luck to be above the 30fps mark

would it be possible to add on a feature where you can only host a ryu vs ryu game with all the features and the game engine of old school xmvssf? i know theres a quick game option, but could u make a 1 on 1 ryu server that would be just like old school mode? keep all thecontent but just make a ryu vs ryu only server that would play just like it did 2 years ago?

Yeah...that's EXACTLY what I would like to see.

If it's so much trouble to come out with an Old School version, why was it announced to come out earlier in the year? Wasn't the prouduction worked on quite a bit before it was delayed?
