you know, i still don't get something.

why is marvel going after this xmvssf online thing that's not even complete, when there's thousands of people playing roms on Kaillera. how illogical. marvel deserves to die for this insolence.

anywayz, what's happened to this place. why's there no sigs and avatars? this place looks like it's been ewbie ravaged and abused badly. there's all these random unintellectual topics everywhere. whatever happened to those debates, SFPOA(is that how you spell it), discussions on world topics. dammit, where did all the vets go(i see there's a few new ones). how's BG doing? are clans still existing?

That's exactly why they aren't. Because there's THOUSANDS of people! They'd never be able to shut it down, because too many people have it on their own computers.



As for the sigs . . . Marvel pictures aren't allowed on the forum either. So, he just turned all of it off.

well, razz is partly right !

there is too many people around that plays ROMS in the arcades, because they found the programs on the net !

but, if you do the logic till the end, you see that its way better to shut down the place you can download it then shutting down each users !

PROBLEM:
- IRC channels
too many peoples and cannot shut them down !

PROBLEM:
- EMULATORS
they are legal ! (yeah, its been in court a very big number of time and the law always falls on the side of emulators)

PROBLEM:
- KAILLERA
they can't shut it as well, cause its free and legal since it is just a program that wass made like siteSPY ! it is not just used for EMULATORS but for all programs that can run C/C++ code !

see why they can't do #### about it ?

as for emulators...
they are LEGAL cause they are programs made by people. they are unique, they aren't copy of the nintendo, XBOX or anything !

EMULATORS that are illegal, are those made with software that weren't suppose to be released by the company itself !
EXAMPLE:
most of the XBOX emulators are illegal cause they uses the SDK from microsoft which one developper there put it on the net thus making the product availlable for all when its really isn't suppose to !

the ROMS are illegal, but again it depends on the company !
NINTENDO are completely against it ! they are doing campaigns against it.
in the other hand, SEGA is glad to see their older product still being played even if its on the computer ! at least it tells them that their sites were worth it ! thus making them wanting to do even more for us !

those are just two big companies that were asked what they thinks of emulators.
and what i said was there answer !

so basically all ROMS are illegal ! but not all companies are doing something against it !

see why they shutted this siote down but not ROMS and EMULATORS ?

EMULATORS is the subject that is the most controversed and talked about by the law !
EXAMPLE of companies that got shut down for emulating things.

BLEEM (they won in court, but lack of funds to go with the project made shut down. but they had won against SONY)

CONNECTIX (with their PSX emulator called VGS. they had won in court but the department was shut down because of the lack of fund after the court. either way, they had won against sony as well)

those are only two of the biggest companyies in EMULATION that got shut down for selling their product all that against SONY which isn't a small company ! they won cause their programs wer legal. but sony won on them the another way !

Anyway, it's really nourishing to know that a normal company like Sega sees the good sign on emulating and producing sites of yore that were created in the early 90's I mean it should bring a sense of pride to them that the sites that they made still make at least a quantum of impact on the lives of some of the new generation siters :biggrin:
All said there's absolutely nothing we can do about Marvel's view on the matter.. which no doubt and in all respect SUCKS! .. But the whole point of the matter is that it just goes to show you the real side of these companies. One would think that they make these sites to give children something to enjoy but it seems that they do it just for the time... DAMN.. those pinheads!

I doubt it would work..They, being the big name company, wouldnt care what we want to happen..Since they are a big company they wouldnt allow it to come back up free of charge like it was..They would want a profit out of this.

1. Create a free Street Fighter only online site.
2. Ask to make an online version to this or even this.
