Everyone,
I enjoy this site as much as you do, although i wasn't able to play that much I got all these things around my head. Even thought I played some and a lot of sites I like to thank those people for playing me a match. I will miss you all. Maybe if we beleaved that our dreams has died then they will but if u don't we may have a chance to keep the site site up. I hope that this situation will continue and I will try to help as much as possiable. I will miss this site and you all. I will still keep in touch by postin something everyday if I can. If you need my help Tmy then I will gladly help.

It's gone all because TMyApp didn't get permission. Well Tmy i'm not trying to be mean or anything but it is ur fault. You should of atleast told us that you did it without permission then if we played the site it would be our own fault but no you didn't tell anyone so you are the only one to blame which is bad on ur part but good on ours.

And I mean the ppl from marvel have a right to protect [b:post_uid11]THEIR[/b:post_uid11] stuff. Don't go cussing them out. I mean they did make it up. And even if you do cuss them out i dont think that will bring the site back anytime soon. And don't flame them.

On the bright side tmy you could make ppl called ryo (ryu) and ben(ken). Or use Capcom like others said. Well atleast you didn't get fined atleast i hope not.

It is not their fualt. Even if they did ask permission then I think they will say know. You know how marvel is. They like to be spoil and want everything to theirself.

Well the dream is over, but their is a shining light at the end of the tunnel. Mabey this will all work out and we will be laughing over this in a couple of months, but if that dosent, I would like to pay trubute to a great site.

i thought you already read what was writen on the main page !

tmyapp as always said to us that this site was FAN BASED and was in no one affiliated with marvel or capcom ! which basically meant that he didn't have any special permission from any of the sus mentionned companies !

ok, as for marvel, yeah they were in their rights, but tmyapp was in his rights to make a fan made site based off their product !

i mean that if you love something so much, you would think of doing some memento, do you see them going to shut down every single video that was made off their characters ? do you see them shutting down every other sites that offers biography of their character ?

you all know the answer, that's why i'm saying they have no common sense !

they shutted tmyapp cause he was making time out of it !
even if it was just donations, he still got time !

i'm sure they already knew about the site way before the time tey sent that email, why now and not before ? well, because we didn't have VIP back then ! now we have !

plus capcom doesnt have any say in what marvel does cause its 2 different companies

Jeez...Is there no company who will allow their video site characters, to be put in an online site and not get time for it??

Over the past two and a half years, TmyApp and LeftyFB have created a community of over 50,000 fans and inspired numerous other forums, fansites, and clans. As the site grew, so to did these fan creations. Many of the veterans can remember the first such site, Senshukentaikai, which started the fan created community. More recently, a new forum has appeared which rivals in popularity the official forum--Battlegrounds. It is my opinion that these sites were not popular soley because of the online site, but rather because of the enthusiam of Marvel and Capcom fans. Thus, the site going down indefinately, while unpleasant, need not be the end of our community.

There has also been much anger at marvel for their actions against us, but I would like to make it understood that we are not the only site that has been targeted by Marvel. Some people flame Marvel as a way of taking out their frustration, but let us not forget that it was them who provided us with such characters as Onslaught, Wolverine, Spiderman, and Sentinal.

I hope I speak for us all when I say that it has been loads of fun, and yet I do not see TMyApp as someone who would roll over this easily....while Marvel does indeed have copyrights, they are not Capcom, and thus parts of the site are still fine. In anycase, no matter what happens, I do not feel that this site has been in any way a waste. TMyApp has never done anything in this site as a way of raising time, or for ANY personal gain. He has done it SOLEY for you, the loyal fans, in the hope that people would appreciate and enjoy his program.

While it may seem that this site is dead, knowing TMyApp, I'm sure that he will find some way of bringing it back online, even if it means removing the Mrvel characters. Perhaps we can eventually make Marvel see that we intend this site only as a fan based tribute to their creative genius, but until then, we need to sit tight. Again, this need NOT be the end. The site may be down, but the community is still as strong as ever. Rather than being angry about the events that are taking place, I think we should look back on the wonderful experience we all have had playing Xmen Vs Streetfighte Online. We have had two and a half years of entertainment--a VERY long time in computer gaming--and it would be a waste to forget that. In my opinion, this community has been nothing but a stunning success. So if you decide to leave this community, I hope that it is not with anger, but with appreciation.

So whatever happens to this site or this forum, I hope that you have enjoyed the site while it lasted. It is a pity that the site has had to be shut down, but nothing is forever.

And I really wanted Akuma....( not really, I was mad that everybody keeps voting for ryu-like charatcers) anyway, thats not the point, so Tmyapp... is it really true that you lied to us about Marvel knowing what you were doing? because it said in the letter that the copywrite notice on the bottom right corner of the site was not approved by Marvel, or something like that. Also, can you like go to court or something. i dunno if that could help... and besides, what kind of "information" were you giving out that they didn't want anybody to know about? hiw to do the charatcer's moves? there are hundreds of fansites that focus on the arcade versions of X-men vs. Streetfighter, and i don't think those sites were shut down too... i don't know what their problem is.. i don't think changing the names of the characters would do much.. sorry tmyapp that your dream failed... but anyway, thank you for all your hard work, and i'll never forget you( whoever you are, becasue you blocked out your real name). well... bye.

Hey just because marvels out doesnt mean you have to take the entire site down why not just have street fighters? and if you dont then tell me how to do it i got a server

it was kinda wrong of them closein the sites down and they were gettin more fans to then marvel just screw it up. I guess all marvel think of is time and nothin more and i guess they dont care bout its fan. if the marvel really think of this way the tmyapp were helpin the marvel becuz more people cam eand became fans and as they became fans they bought more marvel product= for the marvel to get more time but i geuss that they goin have to lose more time if they close this site down

it said that if u want to keep the site switch it up a little bit like the names of the characters and the name then marvel couldnt say nething and if capcom wanted to say sumn they couldnt either

I dont wish to capitalize of project x's misfortune but with no place to fight besides killera (which sux) there has to be another fighting site. This fighting site is currently being built it will be based upon street fighter alpha 3 however I need to know How did the owners of this site get the funding to pay for the massive amount of people on this site?

The shut down really sucks, especially for the programmers. Perhaps, in the future, someone will use that engine and just modify the characters. Then Marvel can't take any legal actions ....

Marvel will most likely still blame us for modelling our new characters on theirs..

Dont you think, considering this is one of the most played sites on the Internet, this is huge advertising for the company....either way, thank you all, truly, for your dedicated work and insight. Hours of slaving, programming, and ultimately your perseverance to please the mostly ungrateful and bitter crowd that were your "fans" has truly shown me that you all deserve to go places and achieve your dreams. Hmmf, what a turn of events. But, who knows, maybe an onslaught of complaints will backlash Marvel into allowing this site to run. I mean, usually, things have such a strange way of turning around......(we thought the dream died last time too, although i do concede this is a little worse). We'll see....what happens happens.....I'm sure some1 knows some1 who'll know what to do (but if not, thank you anyway, good luck, have fun, keep programming, maybe a spin-off, eh?). Later.

and if these don't work...just change the appearences of characters by 20%...they can't do anything to this site if you do that. It'll be completely legal ^_^

for all i know, they can't say its against their copyrights, if its not there character !

the fighting style can still be there... but if the charcater doesn't look anything like wolverine and doesn't have the name, they can't say anything !

the picture above... show what a guy could do... he transformed CYCLOPS into HAVOK (scotts younger brother)
and i know people who have completely create new ones, they did it for mugen, the hell, the fact is they create completely new chars based on already made frames !

other just created their favorite charcater based on others...
example of a site i showed back then which showed LINK from ZELDA based on the sprites of STRIDER HIRYU !

i say, if its well made, then its gonna be as good as this site !

As much as HATE what Marvel did, I agree with them. I seriously thought that this site was aprt of Marvel, and now that I find out it wasn't, I undestand why they took legal action.
Marvel has a copyright or their characters, and nobody should distrubte them without Marvel's written autorization. This site extend to the point of not only distributing the characters, but making a fully playable site that was very similar to to Marvel's site, which it totally out of the question.
This site could have easily lowered Marvel's marketing becuase not many people would by a site if they can play it online, and for free.
Again, I really hate that XvsSF has to be, litteraly trashed away but we have to face the truth;hwoever, not all is lost, you could easily change the character's graphics, sounds, and special attacks, and create a whole new site free of restrictions!
