View Full Version : Skill level and ranks - An idea
I have an idea that has to do with ranks and skill level. I think this system will work.
ranks still are intacked but you can have a skill level. skill level system involes the rank though
lets say you got rank 1-10 your skill level is 1. if you have ranks 11-20 your skill level is 2. if you have a rank 21-30 you will have a skill level of three.
and etc. etc.
so do you guys catch my drift.
This is a different way
or if you have a rank 1-5 its a level 1. if if you have 6-10 level 2.
and etc. etc.
I think most of you guys would not agree but im trying to make a good idea though. :D

i really don't understand what the pont of it is though. It seems like the skill rating tells you exactly the same thing as the actual rank which makes it redundant.
If you want to use a skill rating why not make the skill rating like an average.
im not sure what the calculation would be but why not make it so that the skill rating is based on rank over an certain amount of days or week.Kind of like a weighted average i guess.Maybe this idea is a bit better seeing how it incorporates time and rank.
If you don;t like time and rank you could change the time part of it to number of games of something else.
maybe it would also be cool to see other stats on players at the rank screen for example:
average games played per day
average wins per day
average losses per day
and even stats on wich characters they seem to use the most.
knowing this stuff would help people in tournements and it just seems kinda cool to me at least.

Sounds good, especially which character they use on most fights, the rank system at this moment is bareboned, it needs more statistics.

not much difference to the current rank system...
u can rate skills on our own

If you rank1 you don't need skill beacuse you already have all the skill if you rank1 that is easy idea tho:)

there's a lot of people that don;t play all day everyday that can beat the rank one people so you might want to re-think about what you posted.

i dunno it sounds good but ranks 1-10 level 1 kinda well its not very good but do it like 1-20 level 1 20-35 level 2 35-50 level 3 it'll be better easier that way ppl will be even more encouraged to fite to get the rank up also to try and get a skill level

good thinking dan. skill should be based on the fighter not the number he is this fuels the n00b's ambitions becoz to them rank 1 is literally number one fighter lmao! but i think the rankin system should be altered for different settings like 1 on 1 and tag matches, 1 on 1 should have more points involved since its the hardest one to do (also more points will make n00b's play it more often THUS the servers will be less laggy) AND points for a game should depend on the character you use since come chars like sp

I see what you mean vipa but if we did it that way the point system would have to be modified each time a new character is brought into the game.
By doing this each time you would pretty much have to redo the list of "least cheap to most cheap" before you could even assign how many points per character. It just seems like a lot of work to me however, when all characters are in the game this might be one of the better ways to go about it.
i wonder if a mod will read this topic.

No j kwon that is just stupid because you can be rank 1 then log out and like 5 hours later your rank 6...When you are rank 1 if you want to keep it now then you have to be on constantly...And rank has nothing to do with skill anyone that is good can be rank 1 if there werent so many cheap players/cheaters...It didnt use to be like that where you had to be on constantly too keep rank 1..=\ So if someone is rank 10 and they drop to 11 cause they didnt play that day that makes there skill drop?ahahaha and mastermax there is no possible way for ken too be cheap because his hadokens are slow..And sp

the only rank that matters is the one that goes into the archives u won't see me rank hunting til then, or if i don't play for awhile and don't want to be at 700

like vipa said just change the score system in terms of tag and non-tag, non-tag matches should give you more points than the tag version, due to n**bs abusing it. I dont really think your idea about character selection and point system will work out though, to much bitching will go on, followed by hundreds of emails saying sp
