[color=#000000:post_uid10]How annoying is it to grab your mouse in the middle of a tough fight because someone decided to chat (whether it be an observer or a partner who isn't currently fighting). It can be very frustrating trying to click the chat box off so you can block on incoming special.
Since you can't disable the chat box during the fight because sometimes people have something important to say or to notify who left (or if you're just training), there should be a button that quickly withdraws the chat box window during the fight. You know how you press T to bring out the chat box? We should be able to press T again to withdraw it off the screen. How convenient would that be? This is a plus+plus add on SFO needs.
And when you're fighting 1on1, people sometimes like to say GG after every single round. This is fine but sometimes these people do it at the last possible moment just before the match goes into round 2 or 3 so the chat window will end up coming up at the start and you'll be trying to close it while your opponent getting his free hits in.
So many things... Especially in important tag matches and stuff. I recall fighting Metal Ken and someone else in a tag match (I was with Kinseb). And when Metal Ken was tagged out he did NOT stop talking. My chat window must've come out 10 times. And now that I am using a laptop and its even more frustrating trying to close the box when the laptop has no mouse...
When the chat box comes out and I have to grab the mouse... I just fall out of the SFO zone. Anyone else feel this way?[/color:post_uid10]

I know what your talking about man.. This has been a problem ever since tag mode was available on sfo.. I guess we just have to bare with it for a as long as possible until its fixed.. Try to confirm with your opp. that talking throughout the fight effects your performance because of the chat box poppin up. Im sure if your opp has sense :O HE or SHE will kindly oblige and repsect your wishes..

Heh, ever since I downloaded the download version of the game, that chat box doesn't open on its own. It only opens if you click it. But in webversion it would open all the time.

It's so annoying to have to close that windowbefore the next round...I think some of the people who do tat do it on purpose as a distraction to hit you...
To them i say....YOU'LL GET YOUS SOON ENOUGH!!!! :plain:

This is exactly why we need this feature to withdraw the chatbox quickly without pulling our hands away from the keyboard.

Yeah.. and it saves us some bandwidth as well  ... I'm not sure the chat box opens on it's own without pressing "T" or clicking talk during the game. And I don't think the idea is half bad, as long as it's not more than a few lines of coding by TMyApp.
In any case, you all should spread the word. no more spam!!! ... I mean, play more d/l version of the game

Blanka, it does happen. The box will come out on it's own if the opponent sends a message sometimes.

Hmm.. I guess I don't play SFO just as much  ... :(
But in anycase, I don't have any problem with the idea... as long as it's not too much work for TMyApp; so much so that it'll shift his focus from working on some more "important events"

I think this is more important than any event because it's for the actual game. The event revolves around the game (not the other way around). The gameplay should always be the main priority for TMyApp. Not a new character, special tournament, or additional helper.

Unfortunately, the majority of kids here aren't able to grasp that concept; and because of the fact that this game is majorly for "their pleasure" we do everything in our power to make them interested in the game... hence events, new characters and the likes.
Major bugs that really leech into the gameplay can be patched... like the speedgear era and some more crap that involves cheating the system.
However, the chat box is something only a few of us would notice and since it's not that much of a disturbance to the majority of kids that play the game, it can't serve as a top notch priority like for instance a situation where one hadouken fireball takes all the life points off your opponent.
Now things like that HAVE to be taken care of... no matter how much time we have to put into testing and revamping few lines of codes
And unless there's some sort of uprising in SFO, where kids decide not to play the game because of the chat box popping out at unwanted times, I don't think TMyApp would steer the game awayy from it's main course to work on this... if we anticipate that it'll take a long time to fix.
But don't get me wrong, things like this annoys me when I play the game... but when you think about it for a while you'll realize that MORE than half of the users that say "gg" don't mean any harm... but are just being good sport. So we can't take it out on them

I know what you mean resta, very annoying at times is the chat box. Can't we just have something like a function key for opening and closing the chat box? That way nothing will get in the way of your typing.
what if there was a possible way to get a chat lock on so you could enter a command during the game or before the game which ever you'd prefered and the chat box wouldn't come across the screen whilst playing, it could be a simple command such as... /tl
then once the round or rounds are over you could re open the chat by pressing t ... or something alongst the lines like that.

Yeah, that would be useful.
That sounds like a great idea especially in taf wheneveryone is talking and stuff.

The "lock" would be alittle more inconvenient for TMyApp but a great idea, nonetheless.
I was also thinking of a feature that would allow players could to have the messages sent during chats to pop up on the screen on the bottom left/right in a small font..
This way, the fighters could glance at what is being discussed during the fight and continue duking it out at the same time. It would create more lag (which is why some may disable it) and also be something of the future but I'm just putting it on the table.

How about like when you press T to unlock it than you can press T agian just to unlock it.

It would have to be another key altogether because T woud be the key used to send out and withdraw the chat box. But if the chatbox itself does not come out on it's own [when someone sends a message] there is no need to lock it therefore no need to have a lock key.
