Special rank for long-time sfoers - 'twould be nice.

Wouldn't it be nice to reward those members of SFO who have been here since the beginning, or close to it? It would be a great gift for those who have been around since so, so long ago. Shouldn't loyalty be rewarded?

This topic of discussion came up when, for the first time in nearly 3 years, I logged into the game on a computer that could play it, and encountered DXZero. We talked, and the conversation came to this: shouldn't those who have been around for so long, and stayed at least semi-active, and have been helpful or kind in the community get a special title in the game/forums?

Having a special title for such people would be a great idea to reward people for their loyalty to the game.

Those who have been around and a helpful or nice part of the community since 2001-2002 should be able to kick people from the servers in SFO. It would keep those who have been around since the beginning around, as they wouldn't have to put up with rule-breaking jerks online.

It would also be nice for those people to have a special forum title. What title could be discussed, but here are a few ideas...

For those around since 2001...
Original Player
Oldie
Oldskool (spelling optional)

For those around since 2002...
Veteran
Second in Line

Again, this would be a very nice way to reward original players to this site. There would be an application process, where forum-goers who think they qualify would apply, and list their game account name, and a discussion on the merits of the application could be discussed by the mods.

But how about all those other lying ####s who pick a random forum name from the past and use it as theyre own i mean common we all know alot of morons do that picking up a random name on the member list and saying"that was my old name" and going to search and typing in the name and finding an old topic posted by the name. And i think it should only be 2001-2002 users who should get something of this sort i mean common we still got 2003 ####s bouncing around rd ####ing ppl . do u really think they should get this kind of honor.

Moderators can compare IP addresses to determine if that was really them. If it is them, their IP address should be the same.

The idea is for people that have been around since 2001-2002 to get the custom title and kicking priveliges.

I was thinking of something that was more or less on the same idea. A community team...hand picked buy the admins and mods, basically players with similar powers to mods...a new team could be choosen every once in a while.

The idea is for people who have been part of the community, e.g. on the forums AND the game. Those who have been on the forums since 2001-2002 likely have been a member of the game for that long as well.

I know the real DX Zero, and he'd never post like this. Anywayz, This is a terrible idea. How about the people like Selvin and myself? Selvin has internet problems, and computer errors. Which means he would probably have to have a new computer. I've completely forgotten my passwords to my past accounts and I have a new computer which means a NEW IP address, ever thought about that? Also, just because someone's been here since 2001 does not mean he/she deserves special treatment. Most users of 2001 are not even active and have retired from this game for good. A special title at least would be nice. Perhaps not the kicking powers (which I think would just be nice, but not necessary), but a simple special title would be good. That's not excessive special treatment for old-time XMvSFo/SFOers.

I think that if they had alot of acitvity, (as in played the game alot and is on the forum alot) would be copnsidered a vet and such. If thye did play back in the day, and people don't know, they can simply look up the old score archives from when they used to play. Whcih could help.

(IMO)-I think its kind of stupid for vets to want special titles and stuff, i mean if you know youve been here a while and your "respected", then why do you need special treatment to make you appear "higher" than the other newer members?

True, I understand what you mean. Perhaps vets want to get respected because they've shown dedication to the game and stuck with it even at times where hope was minimal, or maybe they want to be recognized because of sore losers in the game who instantly call you a #### when they lose.

This topic is to stae our opinions about this idea. So technically, he's allowed to say why he does/doesn't like it. usually, people give an explanation with his reason. To a point, he's allowed to put this down. Don't get em wrong, if he's gonna hate on it, then he don't have to post. But he's giving his reasons for hating it.

one: this idea is cool for th etitles and it was going on and hapenned, but it made so much confusion and so much hating cause people, all the people wanted the title they wanted and some we're refused due to their joining date which was too recent.

Well first off there is already a big social society difference where some ppl "seem" more when compared to others such as "vip" and "not" vip so having a custom title that says "vet" wont have much of a big dfference in this area. Please, TMyApp, this would be a good thing for the old-school veterans of the game and forums to do this small thing for us. Just a custom title in the forum and game would suffice. Something to be proof of our long history here.

As far as the titles? I have mixed feelings about that right now. I see how the older people want to be known, but should there really be a status upgrade just for being here longer?

How about something like this, had my thoughts on it, but haven't done anything yet: Remember the "SFO Awards"? What if we do more things like that? Or hold contests, or if I hold my own personal, "Un-offical except that I'm a Mod offical" tournament? As far as the titles? I have mixed feelings about that right now. I see how the older people want to be known, but should there really be a status upgrade just for being here longer?

Or hold contests, or if I hold my own personal, "Un-offical except that I'm a Mod offical" tournament? And whats the big deal about having a freakin vet title on ur name i mean its not gonna effect you is it now? then why do u worry about it not to mention all the issue that come with this "title" are already here i mean look at the "vips". They obviously think there superior since they get special vip forums and such so why shouldnt the vets have something to? i mean its just a freakin title? And why do other users give a freak about this title i mean its just a freakin title its not gonna be the end of the world let alone effect you(03-05 users) in the lease bit so why do you bother?

I understand your guys' viewpoint, but I think you're taking it too seriously.
Also, among the others in the line for starwars, the first one would most likely be recognized for it. Saying that "in the setting of society he actually goes down a couple of notches" is irrelevant, 'cause the rest of society has nothing to do with it. I think it is a nice idea. Having us all people from the '01' to the '02' having a special title. But there's going to be problems. Haters lets say. Why? Well the majority of the people here are just...well kids. If it does get accepted, great. If not, then oh well. We all can live with it, we are more mature than getting "Titles/Ranks."

Its not to signify respect nor is it to signify skill its to signify the fact that you stayed with the community for how many so years. Plus it's a freakin title what is it gonna do lower your standard because you weren't here as long as I have of other members. No it won't unless you make it that way. What just stay here for another year or so and won't you recieve the title as well. It's to commemorate the time you've spent here.
