yea but the best places could be fighting or when your hosting a game... where you bring ppl in and you talk... but during fighitng it can be difficult.. but good idea though.

BUT it would be good because of the fact that when you're playing a game and the chat window pops up you cant fight and you have to go click on it (while getting whooped) to fight again!

PROs and CONs TIME !

PROs
- able to speak freely without the need to know how to type
- able people to easily follow a conversation in the chat room
- the ability to speak without losing a match because you typed in the chat window during a game !

CONs
- in the general chat room, it will end up being a big false note festival because everyone will be speaking at the same time !
- during a game, will cause more lag and modem freeze because 56k users will not be able to support so much bandwitdth which the VOICE OVER IP is producing !

other then those... its a great idea, i would suggest it only in a HOST/JOIN CHAT ROOM tho ! being a 56k user myself, i know i will not use it during a game because then the game would become a living hell throwing me back to the day this game started with always over 3000 of ping ! which = a really not playable experience !

believe me, the microphone is a good idea, but it takes even more then a microphone to make a really good conversation over the net ! it takes a lot of the bandwidth of the modem, it actually takes a lot because of the size the data is. and since there is no way to reduce it, then the data (voice of the person speaking) will take over the modem until that send and receive is made.

now imagine that to a high scale, let's during a whole match of you staying on the line like that. the microphone will simply always send and receive data just like the game is already. but this time, the microphone will take all the bandwitdh there is and the game will start to lag even then it does !

all that even with a very good machine !

now...i take that of what i sayed first to begin this topic i really think we should just have it in the people who host room ONLY..then it wouldnt have so much talking if youcan only talk in the host rooms not in the chat room...i know it will take alot of work to do this...also what about on bg (battle-grounds) and this SFO forum..i also think it would be kool to have a conversation instead os sending PM..but only have an conversation with the person u r sendng the pm to..this only an suggestion..THANKS

Im sayin also that we should have a button on the side asking if we want mics on while we fighting or mics off when we fighting..and mics on when we r in the room and mics off when we r in the room..

really, he has a very good point, one reason reason enough for this idea to be trashed immediately !

this wouldnt be a good idea for the main chat cause sometimes there like 50 ppl in there and that would be gay because a bunch of little kids will be arguing and stuff and all those ppl talkin at once X X thats crazy

it would be a good idea though to be able to make voice chats for when you host like have a choice of voice hosted game or a normal hosted game thad be cool

but during fihgting it wouldnt be cool the little kids who play can be like cursing calling you (N)(O)(b) bs and what could you do .... nothing

and problems with lag wouldnt be that bad unless you have a slow pc but if you have a newer pc it shouldnt effect you unless you have slow dial up ... then youy can be (g)(a)(Y) and lag up everything and wreck games...

but o well its a good idea for the game it would make it more popular and i gotta say it would be cool to be able to talk ;)

i would have to agree...this would make my job ever harder than it is now and would mean that i would be sleeping less than i already do :( and since you got your answer there is no need for this discussion anymore...
