Ken should be next! - Character Select.

I think the next character you include should be Ken! :biggrin: And I belive there are alot of people out there that agree with me. (You should finish the other things first Tmy and get to this as soon as you can) :biggrin:

Ken's ok, I guess. But what I'd REALLY like is for Sakura to be selectable, but if it cannot happen, then what about Gambit? Or Storm? Maybe Rogue? What about Cammy? Anyway, we got's a long time for this to be decided, Mega.

nah. Ken wouldn't be a good character (yet). I think Ken will probably end up like Chunli and Wolerine, with people preferring Ryu, a 'shooter type,' over someone who is a 'close range' fighter. So the next line of characters should be shooter types, like charlie, akuma, iceman, etc....

Ken is the best candidate for playabilaty because he's a balance type he has long range attacks because he can manipulate the hadoken so he can attack from air to ground and to top it all off he is tricky, fast, and a master of close range attacks! If anyone ever face's me with ken beware once you come near there's no comeing back. You'll be at my feet within the next 10 seconds( belive it or not I did it in 5 once useing the super dragon punch and his super dragon kick.) :biggrin:
Hmm... hate to say it but if it were possible Sakura would probobly kick some major @$$. She's like a commbination of Ken and Ryu. Ryu's long range attacks and Ken's hand to hand combat attacks, plus she's faster than both of them (just barley faster than Ken)which of course is where Akuma fails. Too much power and not enough speed. while Sakura's all that and a bag of chips. Same with Ken.

The only thing Ken has going for him is his vertical super, other than that, he sucks.His other super will probably be like chunli's kick super, where people can just jump a cross it, or just do a fireball to stop it. and even the vertical has its downside, since its very hard to hit people with it. the only time is when you pop them up. i would rather have akuma. he has ryu super. the super fireballin the air, ken's super. and the raging demon. the only downside about him is that people will always want to chose him and nobody else.

You people probobly just say this cause you Suck Royaly with him. As for Akuma he's slow as crap the only thing he has going for him is his rageing demon and power Ken would run circles around Akuma. Also his super kick cancels out the fireballs and you can't jump over it he kicks you all the way up off the screen. Plus He has 5 supers 1.shinku hadoken 2. shinryuken(super upercut) 3.enryakoenryuken (super kick) 4.Super dragon punch 5. super dragon kick The dragon ones are stronger than the real ones though and I know you can't avoid them because they move him across the screen and done in succession the do masive damage. #### if you want a character that has combination of all of them why not Sakura? She's beautiful and way faster than Akuma.

Screw Ken, we need someone that is different, to give the game a little more variation. Sure ken may be a little faster or whatever, but his attacks are pretty much mirrors of Ryu's. Somebody like Iceman or Iron man would be much better

Well...I'd rather have Akuma than Ken, but then again, I'd rather have Ken then Ryu. Other characters I'd like to see are Gambit, Charlie, and maybe Rogue. I could do without Storm altogether (if any of you are unfortunate enough to play MVC2sucks when he's Storm, you'll see what I mean :biggrin: ). Storm users will sit there and fly off the screen and build up their super meter, and then come back down and rape you with multiple ice storms once it's full.

I can point out one thing about Ken right now that would make him effective. His fireball shoots down at an angle when he's in the air, and when you super jump, you can throw multiple fireballs. This would force Ryu users to use a different strategy besides fireball, fireball, super. While Ryu's on the ground throwing a Shinkuu HaDouKen, Ken's super-jumping backwards throwing fireballs down at him. :biggrin:

Btw, once TMy fixes the block bug, Ryu's Shinkuu HaDouKen won't be nearly as effective as it is right now. The only reason it works so well is because you can't block it half the time.

cyclops super jump + double-jump = storm going down

Yes, there are a few attacks that can reach Storm when she's in the air. However, there was one time when I was playing MVC2sucks and he was pulling his cheap crap with her (as usual :biggrin:), and I super jumped after her hoping to get her with a roundhouse, and she was OFF THE SCREEN. You don't have to be a n00b to resort to cheapness. MVC2sucks is the master of it. ####, I think he's even proud of it. Lol.

The name Zero Ena is from the anime series The Candidate Goddess (or The Pilot Candidate, or The Goddess Candidate, or The Pilot Goddess, it goes by all those names), and yes, the character Zero is a guy. Also, ZeroEna's avatar is of an elf boy.

I'm still sticking with Sakura. She is well-rounded to be a good character for all shotokan players. She is fast, strong, she has the same attacks of the shotokans, she's a bit stronger then ken in some (not all) areas, and we need someone to counter the Ryu crisis (Haduken, Haduken, Haduken, Haduken, Haduken, Shinku Haduken, Haduken, Haduken, Haduken, Haduken, Haduken, Shinku Haduken, etc) which she can block by using her shouoken. Plus, she has to different forms. Hayakecrapa Sakura(mvc2 only.... and it means Sunburned Sakura not Devil Sakura) and Sakura. She can shoot her fireballs diagnally, she can use all her specials anywhere, and her hypers are pretty powerful.
But I could go on and on about this. I think Sakura would be perfect, but if not Sakura, then I guess Akuma, or Spiderman.

he's not too bad for a gun fighter !

This topic should be close because most of you suck at the arcade version of xmen vs. street fighter. I played over 6 people here (lban,darkvirus,itsunfair, etc..) in the arcade, and i beat them all with just STORM and Dhalsim. see, it doesn't matter which character can do what, or how many specials they have, or how fast they are. its all about YOU. how good you are..how well you use your character's assets. BTW, Storm owns everyone! right, lban? lol

MVC2.... would you like to fight me in the arcade game online? Because I'm bored, and I wanna play people who have some confidence. (Btw, what ARE the APEX tourneys?) But I have to disagree with Tarkan on the Ken thing. Ken doesn't own Ryu. They're both on a war about that. Ryu and Ken a different in few ways. Ryu, unlike Ken, was able to improve his Haduken to multiple levels. Though, he lacks the ability to use the Shoryuken to its fullest strength. Ken spent his time improving his Shoryuken move to multiple levels, which is why Capcom made his Hypers Shoryuken related. Though, Ken fell behind Ryu in the Haduken place. Ryu kept the traditional Spinning Kick thing (don't remember the name X.x)but he placed strength as the base for the attack. Ken, on the other hand, placed speed into it. In the vs. series, Ken now goes Diagnally when doing the spinning kick on the ground, because the speed of his kicks carries him off the ground and towards the enemy. Ryu can only go a smaller distance then Ken, but packs so much power into it, that the distance never matters. But, unlike Ken, Ryu kept all of his main specials and they formed into hypers. He now has Shinku Tatumaki Shunpu Kyaku(sp?), Shinku Haduken, and Shin horyuuken. He was able to become the all round type for hypers, where as Ken could only go as far as Shipuu Jiryu-Kyaku, Shoryu-Reppa, and Shinryuu Ken. Either way, Ryu and Ken are both well-rounded to their backgrounds. Anywhom, the only other reason I have for Sakura being added(and I feel happy for saying this now) is because she is the only other Shotokan other than Ryu and Akuma that can go evil, and use the raging demon attack (though, hers has a different name). That's one of my reasons for Sakura.

Actually storyline wise yes Ryu would beat Ken, but in gameplay, Ken beats Ryu, the only game Ryu was better than Ken in is SF2 Turbo: HF, and that's it.

lets look at their supers:

Ken:

shoryueppa: great combo move, and could be cancelled which adds more for combos, this move is hard to dodge so it has to be blocked, but if it's blocked, and ken is coming down, Ken is then vulnerable, unless you're that cheap as f*ck AI!!!!

Shinryuken: Ken's best super art IMO, and going by statistics. in Alpha games, you can't block anti airs, and this super art is an exception. never jump against Ken in any SF3 game if he has super art number 2, because you'll know he'll do shinryuken, especially high level ken players, they'l do a crouching HP, then cancel into a shinryuken which is deadly.

Shippu Jinrai Kyaku: This super art is okay, if it's blocked, it'll stop, but then your vulnerable since your standing there with your leg bended. It can be tricky since you'll never expect it coming. This super art does low damage though

why am I saying super art? Anyways:

Ryu:

Shinkuu Hadouken: the basic fireball super, this super art is that good to play keep away with, but who would choose a super art to play keep away?(Akuma's messatsu Gou Hadou). This fireball can easily be dodged, or parried, but in a VS game, it's hard to dodge filling up the whole screen, not good to use this in a SF game, but good to use this in a VS game(Marvel, not SNK).

Shin Shoryuken: Ryu's most damaging super art, this super art can turn the tables around in an all out match, it's hard to connect, but do a crouching HP, and then cancel to a shinshoryuken, and you'll beat your opponent. too bad this move is level 3, if this misses, say good bye to your super art. The alpha 3 version looks pitiful(metsu shoryuken), but if your at the right distance, then you'll do a shin shoryuken.

Shinkuu Tatsumaki Senpuu Kyaku: this super move is great, opponents in alpha games can't air block it, the damage is just great, and it gets the opponents trapped, but if you do it far away from the oppoinent, the opponent will do something to counter that(shinkuu hadouken)

Denjin Hadouken: SF3 super art, this move has to be charged, the good thing about this move is that it's unblockable. the more its charged, the faster, and more powerful it is. opponents won't expect it coming.

the spin kick is called tatsumaki senpuu kyaku.

APEX tourneys are tourneys where people in america compete in MvC2, or CvS2(currently). APEX tourneys divides America into 6(or 7 I think) regions. And you get points for how you do in each tourney match, very competitive.

You're bragging about beating people with Storm? Lol. If you're not cheezing ppl with low punches in this game, you're flying off the screen (and when I say off, I mean you could super jump after her and she'd STILL be off the screen) 'till your super meters full so that you can cheeze your opponent with supers in the real thing.

How good you are? Give me a break. I'll give you props for being......creative......*cough*......but I don't think skill has anything to do with your strategy, lol.

Your greatest "asset" as you put it is your cheapness, and you're right, Storm most definitely rules that department.

For those who want to know. i fought DXroll in the arcade, and i have to admit, i didn't expect her to beat me, nor get a winning streak. Well, we played marvel vs street fighter (no storm), which i dont play a lot of.. i usually play xmen vs street figher. anyways. she did use saukura very well, and she played a very defensive game. the thing about saukura is that after she does her running upper cut.. she jumps back so she wont be countered. so after i blocked it. i couldn't hit her... lol. good tactic.. But the funny thing about the game we played was that she was very hard to beat. Unlike lban, darkvirus, itsunfair.. they dont hardly block. or even block down.and all i had to do to beat them was to wait until they wasted their super, then do a down jab, uppercut, with a basic combo.. but dxroll had a defensive strategy (a good one), where she would stay in the corner blocking down.. when i was the aggressive. therefore, i couldn't do the down jab, uppercut, then combo routine.
Anyways, i have more respect for her now, since she showed me that she is also good on here and the arcade version. And i even said to her that i know she can beat the people i play in the arcade, that includes iban, darkvirus, itsunfair. and a whole lot others. man u guys suck compared to her. lol
btw, Hulk's ground super (in close range) takes off over 61 percent life. :( thats one reason why i lost..

mm... dhalsim, he's not too bad pretty original design, but sucks. his stretch kicks and punches are funny though.

You are just saying that because you dont know how to use him that well, and you are insecure with playing characters who dont move like the ryu-type. you are right, though.he is original. he's not like Ryu or Ken. he's different, and thats why i like him. You get bored with the role plays, and they get too predictable when playing with other people.

hey i used to be the best on keyboard, but then i start using different keys and i popped my wrist when i arm wrestled my friend... since then things havent been the same.. i suck at batting in baseball, basketball, playing sf games on keyboard, arm wrestling, ..but i got hella better in mvc2 lol... on keyboard i USED to show skillz with combos, blocks, agressive + defensive strategies, now i suck so i wont say i could beat u mvc2.. even tho u sound easy..hehe :biggrin:

I'm with ZeroEna on this one. Why Dhalsim? There are so many other people that could be put in such as the people listed a while ago (need I say my vote?). With so many choices to choose from why choose the very slow with stretchable limbs, Dhalsim? Imagine what might happen if we put him in there. When someone chooses him, that player will either end up using his stretch ability a lot (causing more lag....--omg I just sounded like someone I know. x.x) or they'll use the Yoga flame/volcano. And his hypers won't exactly speed things up either.... but then again, everything starts on lag... but Dhalsim is too slow to do much against the "average" Ryu player in this game. (Haduken X 10, Shinkuu Haduken....) So should he really be added? .....btw I'm still voting Sakura. ^.~

I'll admit that he usually beats me at X-Men vs. Street Fighter, but that's only because he goes cheap with Storm (look on page 6 of this thread if you want to be astounded by a description of his bitch tactics). As far as Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter, he's never had a winning streak against me on that. I don't block that much when playing online because my ping is horrible (usually over 300), and the worse your ping is, the longer the delay is when you try to do a move. MVC2: As far as fighting against someone that blocks a lot, why didn't you just do some throws/grabs?

Dhalsim is probably one of the most under-rated characters in the game. If you really know how to use him, he's seriously one of the best in the game.

I wasn't dissing him. I said that it was impressive that you beat him, didn't I? That implies that he's tough to beat.

They had to do that in order to make it fair to the other characters. Instead of having Great Defence, Speed, and Strength, They added more Str Points and Spd points to him and took some off of defense. Just be glad he isn't as weak in defence as Bone Wolverine. ....And stop capsing, Sentinals. It's very annoying. X.x

You mean Hyper, Zero. And I like to use a triple team hyper (Megaman=Hyper Megaman, Ryu=Shinkuu Haduken) with Sakura using Midare Zakura. Normally, Hypers like that, such as Rogues Goodnight sugar (if they connect) hit only once, but only Sakura's Midare Zakura works in such an occasion. Try it sometime, and you'll see what I mean! ^-^ SAKURA 4eva!

i was at the arcades about a week ago,and i just happen to run into Tupac2wester and Pakistani, so i challenged both of them and beat them without even worrying about losing. Out of 10 games we played i say tupac won once and Pak didn't win at all. And he ended up calling me a cheap and left. i think he was mad. lol. can u believe that, pak calling me a cheap, out of all people. lol pak. if you didn't throw me so much. i wouldn't have pick storm to counter your cheapness. sucker. :). man, tmyapp just dont know the power and the cheapness of storm. lol. i can make her do things like you wouldn't believe..
